I don't think its that simple.
I would assert as a counter, that sort of behavior did actually truly serve the Boomers well. It gave them the extra 200 feet of the 1000 foot mountain they had to climb. The advice isn't bull, its just obsolescent. An extra 200 foot boost doesn't really help when the mountain that modern gens have to climb is 10,000 feet instead of 1000.

Dont even need to do that, theres an entire note and annotation system in Word like the one code school teahcers use to highlight that "code school" will cost a fuck ton more than 10k and youll be working for scraps if youre lucky

It's impossible to be out of touch asshole when you're actually have to work with your hands and you see first hand the destruction of your industry. Every blue collar boomer I known hates Spix with a burning passion, besides the ones we call race traders who hire the specs.
The worst thing I've ever seen boomers do is when one of the relatives they don't give a shit about dies. And they don't leave an inheritance. And they completely fuck over. The people that were actually taking care of them. So they can sell the house even though they already have money, and the people taking care of them could use the money more than they could.
For the house to raise a family. I've seen this happen several times. It's disgusting. And these people were not liked by those siblings.

I have literally seen this with my own eyes: in-laws who voted Labor for their entire lives were deeply affronted and outraged when Labor said they would tax "investment properties" (there's no such thing here; they're all merely property speculators gambling on capital gain). These people who had staunchly supported Labor for a good forty years turned around and voted for the Liberal (conservative) Party, when they felt it would affect them personally.

People who actually produce value for society aren't overly fixated on the welfare system, probably because they don't live in perpetual fear of brown people stealing their gibs. You should try getting a real job rather than something high school dropouts can easily pick up and learn, the impending $20/gallon gas is going to be brutal for underachievers.
