Family doesn't end when the kids become adults as the parent-child relationship is supposed to be lifelong and passed down generation. My parents are earlyish Gen X and I'm grateful they didn't have this sort of attitude towards me and my siblings. My parents not only love their children but genuinely like us as people, tell each one of us how proud they are of us, and are very involved with our lives. I honestly couldn't ask for more caring, involved parents. I'd be heartbroken and depressed if my parents stopped being involved in my life after I turned 18.

I'm seeing it go the other way these days. The grown kids want nothing to do with the parents. Though, I admit, it's usually trauma related to boomers being shit parents.
 
My mom threw out all of our sandwich meat the other day because it's "processed food", meanwhile the cabinets are still stocked with shitty snack foods, and the refrigerator is filled to the brim with diet coke. At this point it's either lead poisoning or early onset dementia. I desperately need to move the fuck out.
 
My parents both have said multiple times (especially Mama Starscream) that they didn't feel safe enough to 'be a kid' and had to grow up quickly...

I hate both my grandparents just for that honestly. One grandfather didn't even come to grandma's funeral--even though he never loved her, the least you can do is go to the damn send off for half an hour.

I hope to repay my folks one day. I've never experienced the need to mentally and emotionally mature before you could even drive or make your own after school plans.

It's absolutely the fucking worst. Words cannot explain the absolute horrors many boomers do to things that you would think they'd like as it would be from the era they grew up in.

Most baby boomers aren't artistically minded if you think about it.
Baby boomers are the generation that kinda skipped over high art. For most boomers their idea of high fashion was better homes and gardens from the 1970s. Most of them have the worst asthetic tastes imaginable we make fun of milleinals and younger Gen X women for their cottage core but that was desperately done to fix the horrible home design that was the boomer world circa 1997.

When you take a look at previous generations or even generations after there is this intense desire to be artistically creative and beautiful. The boomer world was lets make it cheap, tacky, and avaliable for 6 easy payments of $19.95 just use your credit card today.

Say what you want but the Blue haired art hoe and even the 1488 incel online are more artistically alive than the most cultured of boomers.

Dude, it's insane how boomers are incapable of just not-eating. They'll go on a variety of increasingly insane diets before they cut calories. And for some reason, they ignore liquid calories (soda, beer, starbucks, etc.) in their dietary plans so they end up blowing a solid 500 calories past their weight loss goals and keep getting fatter instead.
 
As hated as the Boomers are, I don't think most people realize just how much of an outlier they've been. They inverted the morality of society to service their degenerate and narcissistic impulses. Before the Boomers, everyone agreed that promiscuity was bad, drugs were bad, self-absorption was bad. Boomers literally celebrated all of those things with "sex, drugs, and rock n' roll" hedonism. Before the Boomers, everyone agreed the individual's responsibility was to serve his community and pass on what previous generations had gifted him. Boomers replaced that with self-indulgence, divorce, disregard for not only their children, but the world those children would inherit. Their parents called them "The Me Generation" for a good reason. And now they exit the scene on reverse mortgages, so they can indulge their wrinkled old bodies a few final times while leaving their descendants with absolutely nothing.

If there has been a Satanic generation, it's undeniably the Boomers.

Pretty much everyone's observations in this thread echo what I've noticed with Canadian boomers. Canadian boomers might even be worse in some ways in that they keep voting Liberal and ignore the problems with mass immigration from the 3rd world.

Having worked extensively in customer service and retail the boomers were by far the worst demographic to deal with. They love to look down on retail workers and treat them like garbage. Silent generation is typically jovial and pleasant so long as they don't have dementia. Gen X is a mixed bag of terrible or no trouble at all. Millennials and Zoomers are mostly alright to deal with as they likely have experience working these kinds of jobs and are therefore more understanding, patient, and empathetic.

I'm interested to hear what non-American and non-White Canadian/American boomers are like.

Getting careless as the paraphilia escalated over time + old age cognitive decline. It's unlikely the numbers are disproportionate, just that they get reckless and obvious about it. Plus, their finesse with technology likely makes them easy catches.

I would also be inclined to think that the Great Depression also caused the boomer's bad tastes, but other countries had it worse, and were starving, so why did this really only affect American boomers? Also why do Boomers like David Muir and continue to watch him like that is the only option whether they are right/left? Also for some reason my father who is very right wing, questions me like it's betrayal that I don't watch legacy media 😂, like um, they are scum...
 
I have a short anecdote about boomers and how they continue to steal from the young. For reference I am gen Z.

I like to go to estate sales to look for cheap silver and old coins. I like to collect it as a long term investment.

At every single estate sale I got to there are hordes of boomers with eBay shops. They will buy up anything priced even slightly below retail and try to flip it for small margins. They do this because they have all the time in the world. If the estate sale opens at 7, boomers are parked around the block at 5 in the morning, why? Because they don't have jobs, and have a lifetime of easy capital to throw around.

The ones that aren't resellers are either lonely and just want social interaction because their children left them, or they are super consumers trying to fill that wallet shaped hole in their hearts.

That by itself is bad, but the worst part is the people who work the estate sales. They are also boomers. Boomers with nothing to do but try to resell old junk at retail prices. It doesn't matter if it's a private seller or a company. It's boomers all the way up and down the food chain.

God forbid these people pass things on or find contentment in what they already have, more, more, more, no matter the consequence.
 
I'm torn. I hate boomers and what they've done to this country, and I'm ready for their influence to end, but nothing scares me more than the idea of my parents dying. So I guess I just have to sneed.

There is a difference between a twenty something doing it to try and get ahead and a boomer who has already had a lifetime to stay ahead.
And I don't re-sell, I collect coins and refine scrap silver for long term investment. It's not the same as a scavenger picking the rancid meat off of the dead bones of other boomers.

Also, this is the boomer hate thread, yeah I'll bitch about boomers in it.
 
I hate how narcissistic (as much as that word gets overused nowadays) they are. They'll talk as if their generation was the greatest in history, but if you so much as criticize them slightly, they will go to the comment section like Jeets to say how you havent done anything, you are lazy and entitled, it's my money that I earned, etc. And that doesn't even touch the times they sell their house or land that's been in the family for generations on end, with the kids of boomers wanting that house or land.

Those same people will smile when an Indian says the right thing that conforms their viewpoint with flowery words. After all, THEY’RE not the one being displaced. Almost as bad as Gen X corrupting Gen Z with communism in public schools.
