Boomer Hate Thread

The majority of the most joyless people I know are gen X, and a lot of them somehow manage to be even more authoritarian than Boomers.
At least Boomers understand the concept of fun more often than not.
Just wish the boomers next door stopped playing the same 90's party music.

STFU I'll play Streamline as much as I want baka millennial

You guys need to FUCKING respect your olders.

The boomers were literally the hippies. They were the original "I hate my dad" generation,

and remember, their dad was likely from the "Greatest Generation". They called their parents Hitler after their parents dedicated years of their life to defeating Hitler.

Boomers are the convenient scapegoat. Many are retired and out of the game. I disagree about Boomers being selfish and embracing neo-liberal policies or hyper-capitalism (death to middle class policies). They have long had experience under certain politicians where their earnings and jobs suffered. Many who worked in the manufacturing industry in the 1980's were laid off and had their jobs go over seas. Many say they would never support these types of policies ''ever again''.

I always think of Cheap Trick's Surrender when that's mentioned. Legit a boomer song where the message is, "maybe our parents weren't so bad by fighting in the war." That it had to be written raises a point about that mindset of some boomers who thought their parents were Nazis because they thought monogamy was a good thing.

They support a generous government that serves its citizens now that they need it... yeah, not really changing my mind on the selfishness.

American boomers were notoriously dogshit at saving despite their high earnings.

Perhaps but they're not really involved with the the ''populism wave'' we've seen in the last 5 years.

Gen X and the older Millennials are quite selfish themselves. They graduated and got careers before the 2008 crash. Many of them admit they're happy that ''they got theirs while they could'' and don't care about the younger generation.

And those are the new boomers that everyone think is a boomer.
Now I realize being a boomer isn't age, but a state of mind.

Boomer women are really out here switching from lifelong religious conservatives to gay rights advocates because they watched Modern Family and isn’t the gay couple soooo funny?!

The first couple seasons of that show are actually pretty good.

Aside from the usual Facebook posts about Trump and the protesters, the conservative boomers have been tame. At least compared with what's currently happening.

All lives matter.

I won't say I actively hate boomers because I don't give enough of a shit about any social group enough to love/hate them, but I think some older people are really annoying when they want. Especially when they want to do things their own way and we have to explain to them that it's 2020, things aren't as it were during the 60/70s, that they need to chill and learn and get on with the times.
Some boomers are thick headed as shit and just annoying to deal with.
