The older I get the more I have come to realize there is a very sharp distinction between "knowledge " and "  wisdom ".

Knowledge is gained through spending time learning about something to gain a better understanding of it. For instance you can gain knowledge about a subject such as arithmetic, music composition, Genetics, or Anthropology by reading a book on the subject or attending a college lecture for that particular field.

Wisdom, on the other hand, cannot be transmitted via written word. Wisdom can only be gained through experience. As the old adage goes, " Action builds experience ". The difference between a freshly graduated electrician and someone who has been in the business for 40+ years is the wisdom they have gained through their extensive 40 year long career as an electrician. That wisdom allows them to do things like identity how much wire is needed simply by glancing at the required run length, identify the most common areas in a house where a fault may occur to check them first, or know the exact federal regulatory requirements to ensure the house is up to code without having to look them up.

I think that the younger generations have spent much of their formative years watching people get their lives absolutely destroyed for stuff they said online years or even sometimes decades previously, it would make sense to me that they are much more savvy about how they present themselves and the level of intimate information they're willing to put online.
