That's exactly it. All of these breadtubers are just the left leaning version of the Skeptic Community. As such they're all just massive contrarians with no principles. Even some of the same grifters such as Shoe0nHead are there and simply changed opinions to suit to a new audience for those youtube adbux. With their hostility to Bitcoin all of a sudden. It's both just repeating what they heard others in their circles say and they don't want to contradict but most people past center-right conservatism rely heavily on crypto due to them getting blacklisted from every financial processor out there. So want that gone completely.

On a sidenote it is completely funny to me that Cock Slime claims to be fighting the elite and changing the minds of the people while at the same time he's never had to face any persecution for his views. He still has a YouTube Account, Patreon (to which he makes nearly $95,000 a year just from that alone), Twitter and alike and gets shout outs by bigger YouTubers than him even. Even his ACAB video which was him "fighting the system and saying what needed to be said" simply just got praise by the mainstream. Cock Slime claims to be "fighting for the working class" yet he makes more money a year by doing practically nothing besides repeating stale progressive talking points on camera than anyone within the working class. He bitches about landlords being leeches yet every landlord I've met has worked harder than him than he has in his life. It's frankly disgusting someone like him gets to make over $100k a year LARPing as some rebel anarchist revolutionary on YouTube while there are better people than him within the actual working class who make a fraction of his worth.
 
Breadtube is just a bunch of petit-bourgeois who like to pretend that what they're doing is fantastic and important in their dull lifes at best, and grifters and manipulators at worst. I hate it, and I wish the next big dictator, whether in the mold of Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, or whatever, goes ahead and gives at least one of these useless cunts a taste of their medicine.

I've always found this to be the stupidest cop out ever. Sure, bitcoin sure uses a lot of energy, but how much energy was used to mass manufacture the textiles you're wearing? How much energy was used to mine the rare earth metals (and how much of those metals were leeched into the environment) for the computer you're recording this on? I bet most people who use bitcoin probably use more energy climate controlling their house then miners spend calculating the share of the blockchain. If Marxists want to continue perpetuating urban industrial society then they have their priorities completely out of wack, bitcoin is a small fry compared to the energy spent shipping commodities yet they seem to want to continue consumerism just without the brands or the corporations.

Also, on a side note, I hate how these motherfuckers also act like the entire planet is going to instantly die due to global warming. The earth has been hotter than it is now and had high biodiversity still, hell this is more or less an abnormally cold climate we live in now compared to what the dinosaurs lived under. We'll be fine, it might be expensive to deal with flooding and shit, but bitcoin is not "literally killing the planet" as thought crime claims.

Since these arguments started to crop up I have been wondering how much energy is used in legitimate banking and credit card transactions. I would imagine for a given number of transactions the banking and CC would have to be more efficient due to economy of scale alone. But would that still be true given a similar scale for crypto (not necessarily BTC)?

Crypto-miners have to be acutely aware of energy spent to make it profitable and CC/Banking is working with basically unlimited funds and can easily sacrifice energy in favor of other priorities to increase profits. For instance, a significant portion of banking infrastructure takes place on systems using FORTRAN or COBOL for various reasons, and I wonder if older less efficient hardware/software might not be one of those factors.

Does it cost less or more for banks to store, transmit, and calculate transactions than it does using blockchain technology?
