Lonerbox, the BreadTuber that has the recognition of being a pretentious Scottish fuck and going after Count Dankula, made a video response to Matt Walsh's 'What is a Woman?' documentary. Like Jessie Gender and Emma Thorne, he does not actively answer the question. But I will sum up his video here.
To begin, Lonerbox states he doesn't really care what the definition of what a woman is, before agreeing that the circular definition of 'a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman' is a shit argument. By 2:39, he thinks anyone saying child transition should be banned should 'have a look at Saudi Arabia', not knowing that the Saudis sure know what women are.
By 3 minutes he is arguing how transwomen can be women, even though they cannot be women as their sex is male.
By 5 minutes he uses a camera analogy saying that while he never knew the definition of a camera, he knew what a camera WAS. Doesn't realize this argument can be used against him: how did he know which parent was his mother and which his father despite not being told the definitions of either?
Also uses the Graham Linehan chair analogy. That argument and thread was a dumpster fire, but a chair isn't a horse or saddle as a chair is an inanimate object and it is not used to mount beasts of burden.
By 9 minutes he uses the philosophical concept of 'family resemblance', arguing that that is how we know who is a woman and who isn't. Again, he doesn't even understand the GENETICS of family members and why people even look alike, or how we know which one is male and which is female.
By 11 minutes onward he uses the card so many TRAs use: the intersex card. Everyone from Emma Thorne, to Lily Alexandre, to Forrest Valkai and Mama Doctor Jones uses this canard. He references the
Legato paper in which she erroneously thinks those with DSDs are a separate sex. Professor emeritus, btw.
12:29 "You do not need XX chromosomes to be a woman" before he trots out Swyer Syndrome, not knowing which sex that affects.
By 13 minutes, he argues women are more than a set of biological traits, before saying transwomen can be women because of a social role they assume.
By 15:26 brings up a 4chan post about how fucking troons is OK provided they look like women. Brings up the bioessentialist argument and also Wittgenstein. Also brings up the 'social construction' of bodies as if that answers any questions on how transwomen are women. Basically says validate troons or else they'll neck themselves.
By 18 minutes he says that mentioning how women have ovaries and that abolishing gender in favour of sex is a 'terf argument'. Brings up patriarchy (that he's a part of) and how it's wrong to think being trans is a social phenomenon. He is basically mansplaining away female oppression on the basis of sex.
By 20 minutes he brings up the Trans Brain argument, stating that that is why trans people are the way they are: they were born with the wrong brains. He goes back on this by saying the 'sexed brain' doesn't exist and this conflicts with his bioessentialist argument just a few minutes earlier. Brings up congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which can affect both sexes, as proof sex is not too complicated to define. Uses the DSD card again.
By 23 minutes he asks that if your consciousness was transplanted into another person's body, are you that person? The simple answer is no, your consciousness is your own but that body is not. You are, technically, an invader. You're skinwalking. Lonerbox doesn't realize how much that uncovers troon logic. Later brings up JKR and how Hermoine turned into a cat with a spell. Minerva also can change into a cat; she doesn't BECOME the cat, she is simply changing her body because it's fucking magic. This is somehow used to argue that trans people are valid because they 'transformed' into the other gender.
By 25 minutes he states the 'burden of proof isn't needed' to show how trans people really are the sex they say they are, or for anything really. Makes a comment about how 'we don't know what causes homosexuality' as if he hasn't visited the Gay Gene debate.
Part four is just him defending an aged troon who transitioned at 90. Brings up conversion therapy and how he was treated as a gay man. We're expected to celebrate this old man LARPing as a woman. There is some discussion about suicide and regret and blah blah blah, but Lonerbox didn't say anything of value.
The camera analogy had to be the best fucking thing I've heard, though, it's so laughably dumb.
