The funny part is that it actually shows the exact opposite of what he thinks it does. Companies like Nike and Gillette have realized that it's easier to "go viral" by pissing people off than by trying to please them. They've started making adverts that take controversial stances on issues like race and gender specifically because they know it will rile people up. Outrage and controversy sells.

Whatever revenue is lost by people avoiding the product is dwarfed by the amount of revenue gained through exposure by having their ad discussed on social media. It's a strategy that's proven to work, and will continue to work until people wise up and realise that posting about how mad the ad made you is the reason they made the ad in the first place.

This doesn't necessarily mean that the people who are angry/disagree are in the minority, either. The reality is that the general public is largely indifferent/apathetic to "culture war" stuff, which is not necessarily the same thing as active support. Even people who passively disagree (i.e not enough to stop buying the product) will massively outnumber the people who disagree and are motivated enough to do something.

Adjacent, I didn't want to include people who aggressively promote progressive politics but do something else, people like schaffrillas, super eyepatch wolf, j draper, noodle, mandaloregaming, Gianni Matragrano etc etc etc cause they almost never say capitalism bad. I think that's the bar you have to cross to be a breadtuber, you have to say capitalism bad, white people bad, right wing bad and everything is a social construct.

I mean, what she's saying is pretty much correct for the most part. While the current financial system has its problems, the crypto ecosystem is far worse.

It's like when Dan Olson made videos making fun of crypto and the Reddit GME stock cult. Just because they're leftists doesn't mean they're incapable of making a valid observation. That said, I do find it funny how hard the left goes against crypto when the most obvious argument against it is a fundamentally right-wing one, that it's the preserve of lazy people who want to make money without having to do an honest day's work for it.

Crypto is an ironically a good thing though. It gives us an alternative to globohomo banks. The only reason kiwifarms has been able to stay up is because of crypto. Why do you think the governments of the world or trying to regulate it?

The only kind of digital currency that should exist.

The reason why leftists, including "anarchist" leftists, hate crypto is because it allows markets to continue existing even when most governments cease to exist or are otherwise unable to continue issuing/minting money.

Leftist libertarians hate this because they value equality over freedom, and you cannot have their vision of "equality" if markets continue to exist.

Few of them will admit this outright, they'll just talk about the environmental impacts that said decentralized digital currency has. Why do they not want to admit it? It's because it's tantamount to admitting that socialism requires a powerful centralized government, which is antithetical to anarchism (not saying that capitalism, doesn't require a state, but I digress).

Either they're really fucking stupid, or they really are intentionally bullshitting us when they call themselves anarchists or libertarians, and just want globohomo to have complete control over peoples' lives. All commies are just state capitalists in denial, after all. Anarchists included.
