Emile has a history of not understanding innuendos or even certain naughty things such as queefing, what a heart shaped box is, etc. It's genuinely one of the reasons I didn't buy this stuff even when the DMs were real.

I am guessing Chugga has been going through his contacts making sure anyone he may have talked to about shoes doesn't have any ill-will towards him or squashing problems privately before going public, but if his response is any affirmation of Emily's attempted canceling other than "I'm sorry you felt that way" than he lost.
