You do realize child labor was legal all throughout the Gilded Age, right? Also, the fastest tech progress in human history came long after the Gilded Age, during the World Wars and the Cold War. We invented nuclear power and got all the way to the moon. It makes everything the Gilded Age shat out look like a small community college fair by comparison.

Modern sanitation came about after a lot of trial and error. And if the people on charge during the Gilded Age had their way, we wouldn't care about it.
Its decline preceded the ban because mechanisation was already making that kind of grunt work done by children less relevant, as it had done to slaves in the industrial North before, keep in mind that it was basically universal before then. Adam Smith wrote that in the 18th century Thirteen Colonies men would seek out widows with children so that they could profit from putting the kids to work, and considered it a good sign (the alternative was labour being so cheap that stepchildren weren't worth feeding).

Also the Haber Process alone (I consider the Gilded Age and Europe's Belle Epoque the same era because the US and Europe were heavily interconnected) is far more impactful than nukes and rockets, it's an infinite fertilizer glitch that solved peacetime food scarcity. There's also planes, oil refining, automobiles, electric lights, refrigeration, the video camera, sound recording, the tractor and combine, the telephone, the bicycle, radioactivity, the Bohr/Rutherford model of the atom, diesel ships, and many more that I'm forgetting.

More on topic, is anyone else constantly getting Fredda videos recommended despite never watching them?

Adam Smith's philosophy practically ruined the West; people took "greed is good" literally instead of his intended interpretation of "hard work is good". Also, sweeping out chimneys is something no machine of their age can do, so no. There were still jobs for children.

I disagree. Nukes and rockets made everything the Gilded Age produced look pedestrian. Mankind now had the potential to end civilizations on a whim, or provide near-limitless energy that would make oil obsolete. Also, a lot of the technology such as the internet and computers in general make all of what you described look positively medieval.

Getting back to the point, Breadtube is out of date with their philosophy. Every time someone decent hears their argument, another Trump fan is born.

Found someone named Abe the Conservationist. He’s a anti-colonialist faggot who constantly whines about the superiority of the Aryans over the niggers and spics.

He’s apparently a frequent contributor of RationalWiki, the gayest cancer known to man,

Here’s one of these videos of interest

Link (Archive)

I have no understanding what’s with the lefts obsession with children

These people genuinely believe that the Middle East and Egypt were inhabited by niggers and not white people even prior to the Islamic invasion. Also, I have no idea why they are trying to defend the Ashanti Empire via false equivalence of how fast their kingdoms fallen. Most empires want to be like Rome, not Ashanti.

I'll admit that I've never followed PewDiePie, but his content seems pretty vanilla to me to the point where I'm not sure why he got so big in the first place. He doesn't even have his own thread here because he's rather uninteresting.
He got big cause he started early on YouTube trend chase to get their. people called him alt right cause of fiverr where the death to all jews sub to keemstar thing happen and of course the bridge incident and certain stuff just aging poorly like when he brought on ben elon musk and justin roiland

Yeah all the stunts were shock jock attempts that were either poorly thought out or turned into memeable moments. The show hosts of the 90s would actually shock the shit out of these morons as they had all of these moments.

Contrapoints coming out with that "both sides" Palestine take might be bad for Breadtube. I saw this magical series of posts on Xitter:

This person mentions Philosophytube and someone in the replies tries the "can't say anything because of acting career" excuse and gives up during the tweet.

There's a lot more and these are actual Breadtube viewers being cynical about them. Interesting to see.
