Friendly reminder that Michael Moore hasn't had the mainstream on his side since he said "Trump is a fuck you to the system" this is an attempt to get back in the good graces of the mainstream left.Guess he needs YouTube ad money now to pay the bills and stuff his fat face with food.
I'm not watching that,can I get a rundown pls.

I didn't know he was still alive... how did we lose both Louie Anderson and Meatloaf but this faggot is the fat fuck who survived Covid?Guess he needs YouTube ad money now to pay the bills and stuff his fat face with food.
He is bitching that, no joke, people stopped portraying nazis as one dimensional evil villains. Portraying nazis as punchlines led to people humanising them (as in, stuff like Schindler's List and JojoRabbit), History Channel tier slop and then to become the cool bad guys. Somehow the solution is to remind people through culture constantly that all Germans alive during the Third Reich were evil and lame and unredeemable all at the same time.
Interesting you mention that, considering that production made Steven Spielberg have an approach of “Nazis must have all their evil and atrocities displayed or else it’s a disservice to their victims” (IIRC, that’s why Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull had Soviets instead of Nazis as the villains).Schindler's List
I feel like Inglorious Basterds fits into this somehow. He is bitching that, no joke, people stopped portraying nazis as one dimensional evil villains. I watched Michael Moore's documentaries when I was a teenager and I thought they were great, when I became more politically aware I realized how retarded they were.Friendly reminder that Michael Moore hasn't had the mainstream on his side since he said "Trump is a fuck you to the system" this is an attempt to get back in the good graces of the mainstream left.
I'm sure that a lot of these breadtuber micro-celebrities are being financed by organizations that want to influence political opinion, I have no evidence but also no doubts, the media has been doing that since it's inception and the internet is no different, we have right wingers that are feds and this is similar but much worse, journalists make a lot of money by being mercenaries of whoever hires them to push a particular agenda, here in Argentina it was leaked recently how Russia was financing local media to swing public opinion against Milei, I recently saw a video of some guy that infiltrated a group of leftists financed by a municipality here in Argentina to manage instagram and facebook pages that seek to swing public opinion in favor of the left and against the right, do you think the same doesn't happen constantly in other countries? When Tim Pool was having a debate with a guy from The Serfs the leftists accidentaly say that they are here "to promote the ideas of people that pay us", unfortunately I can't find the timestamp.(...) I don’t understand how these soy-filled lib-left types can unironically gush about a nation like China as some sort of progressive paradise unless they’re getting paid directly from the CCP. Then again you can never underestimate the conceptual illiteracy of people who only get information from a reddit echo chamber.
UGH. One of the reasons I'm glad I left Twitter - that insufferable faggot would constantly pop up on there. He's like if every voice actor on "Bob's Burgers" was fused into one person, minus the charm or humor.
"Like Schindler's list and Jojo Rabbit"He is bitching that, no joke, people stopped portraying nazis as one dimensional evil villains. Words really fail me. Like, I know this fucker is being obtuse but there's people that buy this like ten years ago they didn't have Red Skull visit American Veterans while equating Trump with Hitler. Twisting facts this hard through culture is a very nazi move indeed.
Wow, I did? I just made some comments. You basically watched the video now.
I looked up the plot to Jojo Rabbit because I've never heard of it. I guess he must also hate The Boy In The Stryped Pajamas for also having a Nazi's child be...a child instead of some mini Hitler clone, and he must REALLY hate Stroheim from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure."Like Schindler's list and Jojo Rabbit"
What do you even say to that?
4:55 Necessary shoutout to the Wolfenstein games for never, ever backing off about how much the Nazis sucked and how necessary it is to shut them down.
Absolute Batman breaking a Nazi arm, mid inauguration gesture, was a pretty good recent example
I’m reminded of the episode of Doctor Who called “Let’s Kill Hitler!” While the good guys do have to fight to save Hitler from being killed, they also make him look like an incompetent buffoon, punching him out multiple times and locking him in a closet. Honestly it was refreshing to see him as the idiot he was!
Reminds me of how in Superman vs the Clan of the Fiery Cross radio episode, the Klan members are portrayed as mouth breathing morons that blame all of their problems on immigrants rather than face their own inadequacies. What kicks off the plot is a Chinese immigrant being hired as a city biologist, and some dipshit Klansman who lacked the education for the job claims that it should have been his and decides to blame Mr Li instead of his inexperience
Can I give a shoutout to the new "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" video game for keeping the Indiana Jones tradition of portraying Nazi's as the pathetic, evil, racist, losers they are; whilst providing ample opportunities to punch them in the face.
We have somehow returned to a time where punching a Nazi is considered controversial in the same way it was when captain America released.
New game called "too many Nazis" got review bombed guess why
11:51 you forgot another detail that makes Hitler look even dumber in my opinion: Indiana Jones is caught red handed stealing back the book Hitler send a special unit to obtain, hold the journal in his own hands, open it..... And don't recognize the journal at all.
Well, there is one counterpoint to that whole "Make Adolf a joke" trope. That is the book "Er ist wieder da" or "Look Who's Back" which later got made into a movie of the same name, that portrays it in a much darker manner where it becomes another means of spreading his ideals as he is not taken seriously.
Once upon a time, I was a young conservative in a college film class. We were talking about the nazis in film, and the question was asked why they're such common film villains. I, a big fan of movies and comics featuring nazi mad science and sorcery, Hellboy Captain America and the like, had unconsciously become somewhat enamored with the supervillain image of nazis in those stories, much the same way Star Wars fans become enamored with the iconography of the Empire, despite them being essentially space nazis. So when the question was asked why nazis where such popular movie villains, I, without thinking, replied "because they're awesome!". Everyone turned to look at me, and I quickly added "...as villains." which broke the tension and everyone laughed. But to this day I'm still mortified by what my fanboy brain brought out in me just because I thought nazi uniforms looked cool and they made cool bad guys for my comic book heroes. It's insidious how the image of nazi Germany as evil but stylish and effective was so completely bought by American culture, resulting in a twisted admiration in some ways.
The switch was exactly at Trump entering politics. The perfect example is the Wolfenstein game series. Wolfenstein: The New Order came out in 2014 and no one had anything negative to say about it. Then Wolfenstein: The Old Blood came out in May 2015, weeks before Trump came down that escalator, and again, no issues. Then Wolfenstein: The New Colossus came out in 2017 and all of a sudden gleefully killing Nazis was bad, actually.
I watched a documentary by Deeyah Khan about the neo-nazis and it made them seem like lost, lonely, sheltered, misguided people. Many of those she spoke with resigned from the nazi organizations because they saw their enemies and learned rather than hate. She did briefly speak with wealthy alt-right leaders, and they are just irredeemable monsters.I hate racists, yet so many just need exposure, those who don't see their folly deserve hell.
This is why Wolfestein 2 is one of the best games ever. Hitler was just a crazy old man, used as a puppet. He would piss himself and shoot people for the hell of it. No speeches just insanity and can't even see his sworn enemy right in front of him. Hitler dies like the pathetic man he is and you just step over him like he didn't even matter
By constantly portraying them as the ultimate evil, we ironically seem to have bought into their hype. Then, when we began to realize that the idea that they would take over the world was laughable, writers began to overcorrect, almost treating them as a non-issue.There wasn't any middle ground, as if just because they weren't an active threat their ideas didn't live on.
Played a game recently full of crude and edgy humor and some people were losing their minds that some enemies and a boss at one point were Nazi robots and literally mecha-Hitler, seeing merely having them IN the game was offensive. Meanwhile, the game itself makes it gratuitously clear what the devs views are on the both (Very clear disgust and disdain for them). It was insane to see, because to me it was refreshing to see a game again that so clearly believed 'Fuck Nazi. They are the bad guys and you should piss on their graves',
To put a note about Ant's final point, remember. The Nazi's are evil PEOPLE. They are not innately evil, the make that choice through a combination of cruelty, selfishness, or ignorance. They deserve to criticized and they deserve to be villainized but if you make them innately evil, make it so they were always going to be that reprehensible that impedes people trying to understand the reasons why and developing better ways to prevent more facists and nazis.Anyway, remember to punch a Nazi.

Ranting for Vengeance has got to be one of the most media illiterate people I've ever seen on this platform. I guess that's what happens when you've got the kinda dad he does
This is from an American perspective but I remember a person’s quote, “there’s more American nazis now than German ones.” And the guy he was talking with went completely silent. In this point in time, I think people would default to discussing American or German nazism.
THANK YOU for this "You are not immune to propaganda" segment. Wolfenstein: The New Order was a heck of a game but holy cow did it rub me the wrong way that it implied heavily that if the Nazis had won (which stood on the edge of a knife in that game) they would've had a full-on functional moonbase by the late 60's. They were NOT competent people.
17:44 A comment on Big Joel video mentioned that the story might have worked if Bruno was revealed to be mentally deficient and his SS father's influence prevented his murder under T4 euthanasia. It would've been compelling to show how even monstrous people carrying out murderous ideology carve out exceptions to protect their own family.Hitler was suffering from parkinson's disease and would've been forcibly castration under eugenics law but of course the powerful are above their own laws and ideology
I don't know if portraying your main villain as incompetent, unthreatening, retard's a good idea, considering it breaks any kind suspense within the story. Can I give a shoutout to the new "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" video game for keeping the Indiana Jones tradition of portraying Nazi's as the pathetic, evil, racist, losers they are; whilst providing ample opportunities to punch them in the face.

Literally all that insufferable, faux-intellectual retard knows is to be obtuse. This is the same guy who insists that Velma was actually a right-wing psyop trying to inaccurately portray the beliefs of lefties.Like, I know this fucker is being obtuse
He literally brings up Inglorious Basterds at the end as a solution.Wow, I did? I just made some comments.
He also brought up Wolfenstein. Please make Nazis cool and threatening again. Any media that has Nazis as the villans is cool because the main character fights this strong, technologically advanced enemy and still manages to win.

Look at this. It's a 13 feet tall mega Nazi robot. It towers over Blazkowicz and it can easily crush his head like a grape. He isn't afraid. He is staring back at it. He's dual wielding shotguns and he's about to go to town on its metal ass. THAT'S cool as fuck. I want you to look me in the eye and tell me that replacing the robot with a scrawny little guy shitting and pissing himself would have the same effect.
Soon?Guess he needs YouTube ad money now to pay the bills and stuff his fat face with food.
