The euphoric atheist movement is a direct result of the religious right of the 90’s

i have to disagree, simply because you can find fedoratheists in pretty much every western country, including all western europe where the religious right of the 90s was never a thing.
in these countries (france germany belgium netherlands etc) christianity hasn't been a serious political force since at least ww2, in many places even longer than that, and its social influence and control have been pretty much dead since at least the 70s as well.

I think that's more down to American cultural influence than anything else. I'd question how Christianity can't be a serious political force when the party running Germany for over a decade now is called the Christian Democrats. It's definitely less relevant now though, it's easy to find movies and TV shitting on religion likes The Boys. And it feels a bit overdone now, like somebody is going on TV to tell me that segregation was bad.

Like you can see this with words which don't make sense out of America, like BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour)
That doesn't make sense in Europe. I'm so pale I can blend in with the sand. But I'm also Indigenous because I'm British and from Britain. So BIPOC includes every single person living in Europe. So you can't set it us as a dichotomy like in the US.

I think the reason New-Atheism really split was that other religions became more relevant. Sam Harris wrote a few books tackling Islam because of 9/11, Muslims became more common in public life, in America Muslims started voting Democrat as a minority group, rather than Republican because Conservative Abrahamic religious people are all the same until one's a minority ethnicity that's given support by the woke.

He went from an unfunny personification of the argument against sheltering your kids to a different kind of unfunny personification of why you shouldn't shelter your kids.
