Bugsnax is an adventure video game developed by independent game studio Young Horses.
In the game, players explore a mysterious island and attempt to find and capture the eponymous half-bug-half-snack creatures.

Anyone played it yet? It's a mix of Viva Pinata, Pokemon Snap, and Ape Escape.

Kinda bug and kinda snack,
Try to catch 'em in your trap.
Feed somebody and you'll see,
We are whatever we eat!
Find 'em hiding in the sand,
Tearing up a ketchup patch.
Come to Snaktooth island and discover!
It's Bugsnax
o-OO-ohh it's Bugsnax
o-OO-ohh talkin' 'bout Bugsnax
o-OO-ohh it's Bugsnax

Can you elaborate? For $25 it doesn't seem that bad at all.

I'm going to actually play it tomorrow and provide my own thoughts.
As in, it's kind of "creative" when it comes to the concept and hidden features, but I would rather wait for something else to come out. Granted, it's $25, which is cheap.

let me just preface this that I have never cursed more at a video game in my entire life.

Imagine Pokemon snap but with the difficulty ramping up to a ten right after the tutorial. Holy fucking shit is this game hard. trophy requirements are absolutely insane the depper you go. They all sound simple on the surface because you're ignorant of how the game really functions. But as you go deeper you realize that everything requires hours of your time and dedication to mastering everything with precision. This game is unforgiving, just a brutal never ending slog. There's a reason why Demon's Souls has a higher trophy average for the platinum because Demon's Souls is an easier game to beat.

Avoid at all costs unless you want a challenge that will keep you stuck for weeks on end.

If anyone wants a look at the entire game before trying it, here's a good longplay.

I'm a little disappointed that most of the replies are just memeing on it, not just here but on 4chan and Reddit. It's definitely a solid love letter to some of my favorite games and I'm enjoying the time I've had so far.

The Bugsnak designs are really cute, I haven't seen them all yet but from what I've caught the Bunger is my favorite.

Yeah well that's mostly because the Playstation 5 is sold out everyhwere, I'll play it when I can get one. I had to jump through a load of hoops to download it from the PSN store for free since the new storefront is buggy as fuck and the "Add to Library" button was glitched out.

So this game has lesbian couple, gay couple and a nonbinary person. They might as well could have shoved a tranny in there.
People in the streamers' chat were obnoxious about the pronoun, correcting her when she called the character 'she'.
I'm glad that she didn't really read the chat or ignored just them.

It's also on PS4 and PC.

This actually really annoyed me when I found out about it, I thought this would be the one game free from this bullshit. I should have known better.

So I got to actually play this now and as you complete the quests for the Muppets you get to hear their back stories.

and it is some heavy shit, like Bladerunner 2049 feels.

One muppet who treats you like an asshole throughout the whole game by trying to sell you shit in the game, goes as his finale "I've been poor my whole life, I can't afford to be happy". This explains why he's so adamant on trying to sell you stuff, he wanted to begin a new life on the island.

The gameplay is like Ape Escape but if you were in first person, it's not bad. You have to use your different traps and tools in the same way to capture the different bugs.
