I watch these the other day. They all sucked and most had non endings. Don't bother. The only scary thing was this:

Heard my brother talk about one episode where a racist is killed for the crime of being rude by brave and courageous hispanic woman.

This related to the podcast of the same name? It's about paranormal stuff in history and spooky stories. I quit listening when a whole episode was "white man bad" wrt the (feather) indians instead of being about the actual topic.

Only on episode 2 so far but "in debt to ruthless loan sharks" is really doing some heavy lifting as far as main character motivation goes.

It's an anthology series.

Each episode is based off of a fictional short story. iirc 3 or so are HP Lovecraft stories.

After watching the last Twilight Zone reboot by Jordan banana peel, I'm hesitant to watch any new horror movie or series made by "diverse" people. There's always some sociopolitical commentary that boils down to "Whyte peepo iz waycist." For spooky season I stick to everything up to the mid aughts.

First episode lost me almost immediately when the protagonist was written to be a stock standard le racist whitey who thinks white people having rights is good and thus is deserving of a horrible death at the hands of some poor little brown minority.

Oh, and of course the actor was actually Jewish.

Guillermo is a fucking hack. He hasn't made anything worth watching in years and I doubt he ever will again.

Hopefully his upcoming Pinocchio movie will at least make up for this.

I'm legit happy with Rupert Grint's career trajectory. He's very low key unlike the others so he's not instantly in your face. Plus he chooses some really fun shit to work on.

Finally finished the series which should tell you something about the overall quality.

Lot 36 is OK but goes to absurd lengths to set up the main character as le racist white man.

Graveyard Rats is good although I expected more from the occult foreshadowing.

The Autopsy was probably the best overall episode.

The Outside was just weird with zero payoff.

Pickman's Model was good but there was tons of padding which could have been dropped. Crispin Glover was really good as Pickman at least.

Dreams in the Witch House was similar: decent core of a story but tons of padding with little payoff.

Loved The Viewing but that's purely subjective based on atmosphere and aesthetics.

The Murmuring is dogshit.

tl;dr, women directors were a mistake, go watch the V/H/S movies if you want horror anthologies.

I enjoyed Lot 36, primarily due to the level of nitty gritty detail in showing the main character grinding out a living flipping dead storage units which I found interesting.

I liked the Autopsy due to it being extremely fucked up and creepy, but it was also disgusting. Don't watch it with headphones, except for the part with the hair standing on neck effect. Never seen that before, was really well done.

I was really unimpressed with the first two episodes.

CGI is poor and stories are shit. It's like the settings are done by pros and the writing is done by interns.
