I played through it recently and, honestly, it was one of the best games I've played in years.

The atmosphere, soundtrack, characters, story... I don't normally marathon a game, but this game really was awesome and had me playing through until the end in one sitting. It was 4:30 in the morning when I finished, something I don't really do nowadays, but I just couldn't put the controller down. Just hoping that maybe others loved it as much as I do.

Anyone else find this game as captivating?

I enjoyed it, but I'll be honest in that I was expecting it to be a little more like Dark Corners of the Earth. I really would have liked some combat/action sequences.

I will say that the final section where you're climbing the cliff and see the storm on the horizon with the tentacles behind the cloud wall, and the holes in the sky showing outer space is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a game in a long time.

The story was no "In the Mouth of Madness," but it was honestly much better than I expected. Definitively above average for a modern take on Lovecraft. Atmosphere was great, and I think the way they handled the dimensional shambler was near perfect. I wish the character and sanity systems were more fleshed out though. Your character "build" lacked any real depth or impact, and the whole sanity system seemed like an afterthought and was hardly a mechanic.
