Oh yeah and don't you dare drive on the track and get engine damage while under warranty.
Toyota gets extremely anal about it.
Yeah, toyota seems to be a "no fun allowed" company. There have been multiple high profile warranty denials over the last few years when it comes to things like track use and even just speeding in cars that toyota would consider "performance cars". I wouldn't say this is relevant with an LC because it isn't a performance car, it's more of a grand tourer or more accurately personal luxury car. If you track or even drag race your toyobaru, GRolla, Supra, though and something happens to it under warranty, good luck with that.

If I saw a pre-2000 car only with 200k miles I would assume that odometer fraud was commited at some point.
Nah. I see plenty of cars that old with well under 200k miles. I own a couple with under 100k but they're obviously not daily driver commuter car types. Only cars were daily driven rack up massive mileage counts and a lot of cars are never daily driven in their lifespans.

Catalytic converters are quite expensive to replace, so some people go for flame arresters instead. It makes your exhaust smell like shit and is probably illegal in all countries (but the actual enforcement of this varies), and also you need to update your firmware on on-board computer for Euro-1/Euro-2 regulations (idk how they are called in USA). It also makes your engine produce somewhat more power with less fuel.

Yeah, I stated my question wrong, I figured it was done to get 5-10 more horses out of it. Just don't know what a "cap" is.

Yep, but a totally different experience. As an Ex Evora S owner, I wouldn't even begin to compare it to the LC 500 which is more of a cruiser. The Evora was great when it didn't randomly go into limp-home mode, or the clutch wasn't on the floor because the clutch fluid line is right next to the engine and boils off when you park it.

Or the dash literally separating from the rest of the car....

Ahh yes, forgot about that, and the fucking shit gearbox. But you know, I find myself looking at them again and again as when everything came together, the car was sublime.

I am thinking about getting the Emira.
Those curves make me cum.

Reliability seems to have increased as the forums have suggested.
It should be more of a GT car now and more user friendly for longer drives, no?

Anything I should be prepared for as a future Lotus owner before the car rapes my bank account?

If you get a Lotus, save some pussy for the rest of us. I'm still on the hunt for an Elise.

Anyone ever deal with insurance for imported car? Like not a "grey market" or shared chassis. I saw a local Honda Beat the little Jap kei car.. and looks fun as fuck saw a few for sale for not a lot mrs would LOVE one any idea about insurances? I mean I could just call but... rather talk to some people who've done this before playing that whole corp nonsense from an agent.

I've gotten curious and searched Autoscout24 for a Lotus Elan, there I saw a Lotus Elan from 1970 for 10 grand. I mean, that's quite a cool car and its an oldtimer, thus exempt from road tax and those dumb emission zones etc. Guess what's wrong with the car. It isn't mere used up driven example. Someone is seriously asking 10 grand for a burnt (yes, crispy burnt) Lotus. Elan. U WOT NIGGA BRUH.

Eurofag here.
Have you Americans ever heard of the Ford Streetka?
I'd get a Puma over the Streetka. Both are Mk4 fiestas underneath, but the Puma has the 125 HP 1.7 16v engine. I've never driven the Streetka or Sportka with the 1.6 8V, though I have the 1.3 base Ka. They're not known for being fun revvy engines. The Puma's a real hoot to drive, just look out for rust, same goes for all Mk4 Fiesta and KA variants too.

There is so much wrong with this I can't. Why does it look like it has a built in pushbar thats too wide and made of plastic, whats with the random bits of orange, why are the headlights so tiny, just why.

Interiors alright though, I appreciate that it has buttons and there was some attempt to make the screen blend somewhat with the dash instead of Tesla Ipad sticking out design.

The Emira is just a mk3 Evora. Save your money and get an Evora 400 or GT. There were no wallet raping problems for me, just daily headaches that really should shouldn’t exist in a modern car.

There's worse looking cars out on the roads right now, like those BMW SUVs for one. But those plastic outer trims on the bumpers and wheel arches on that Outback doesn't do it any favors.

I honestly thought it was a Silverado from just the front alone, that is still truly an eye-sore with the rugged trim.

the tiny -_- headlights are a real trend that needs to vaporize in a nuclear explosion... i blame LEDs, modern BMW, and the Chinese/Koreans
considering the 'pedestrian safety' regulations, one would think the massively flat bumpers/grills would die off but they only seem to get worse

anyways, off to work on my E36 M3... needs new camber plates, belt tensioners, and power steering seals

I've always considered Subaru Outback ugly, but this is something else. It looks as if a child was asked to draw a futuristic SUV.

Ugly but at least unique and adhering to a design aesthetic. This is just "give the idiots boxy. They want boxy."

I just recently 're-discovered' the Puma as I've never seen them on the road before.
Top Gear had an episode on it.

What a stunning little car.
Shameful that they bastardized it with a Boomer SUV that makes it impossible now to reliable search for a good model BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY HAVE TO SHARE THE SAME NAME.

Still looks modern even today.

Yeah it's not the only car I've owned that got it's name reused for a shitty SUV. Ford seem to be one of the worst companies for it. There's the electric Mustang, at least they had the good grace to spell Cougar retardedly so it wouldn't shit up searching for the old one. Take a look at the new Ford "Capri".

Jason Cammisa has a vid on YT about the Subaru XT. He reads out a quote from a Car & Driver magazine from 1983.
"Subaru and styling are mutually exclusive terms. One wonders if in fact there is a Subaru styling department, or if there is merely a blackboard mounted on a sidewalk outside the factory where passersby can scribble suggestions."

Heres a fun game if your bored.

Go to your favorite insurance auction site. Enter the term Nissan Altima 2000-2019, filter out repossession(In most cases this will be the second highest lost type only beat by front end damage) and see how many pages you can make it till you find an Altima in a condition that makes you pause and think "What the fuck"

Look at this sexy beast(Still runs and starts somehow).
