In addition to having a kia-ish front end that is scrunched down like a post refresh charger, the side and especially rear quarter look infiniti-ish. And flush door handles are gay.

It's more modern minimalist bullshit. They are getting rid of the styling lines on the sides which makes the car look cheap because those styling lines were historically a premium feature; they add cost to the production of the body panels. The rear end doesn't look like anything else, but it's just ugly. It's tall and featureless like any cheap sedan, and gets these bizarre looking tail lights that don't suit the design at all. It's such a mess.

The more new models BMW release, the more I miss Chris Bangle.
Stockholm syndrome. New BMWs are ugly but that doesn't make this good.

Those older 6 Series look a little goofy and funky; but you could also say it's charming in a fugly way. This new line of 3 Series makes it look like a diet Pontiac in its front end styling cues, very squished side profile resembling that of most third world exclusive cars, and the egregious gaming PC interior continues to be an eye sore.

Absolutely nothing good looking about this new gen of the brand so far. It's not like the electric trim lines are any better, if this upcoming iX5 is anything to go by...

Yeah nah, just because the new ones are egregious doesn't mean the Bangle M6 and 7 series weren't butt ugly. I judge BMW by what they used to be capable of and because I know what was possible I view the bangle era as a negative. Yes, Bangle was on the E46 M3 project, it was the end of his talents.

Other than a 3.0CSi I've owned every model of BMW pictured above.

The Teslaification of vehicles is worse than the SUVification and should be classified as a war crime. Can't wait for the 2032 Chevy Camaro EV family crossover which has a single giant iPad in the center of the dash and nothing else

Yeah, I know Bangle-era BMWs weren't a patch on pre-Bangle Bimmers, which were and still are arguably some of the most handsome vehicles ever produced by the Germans. But anyone who genuinely thinks that any of the Bangle-era stuff looks worse than the vehicles being shat out of Munich right now may need to have their eyes tested.

You just need to scroll back a little bit and look at that 2027 3 Series again. The E46 was a good looking thing, as was the E90. Sure, neither of them came close to the E30, but the E30 was a home run.

Hey don't know if I should ask for advice in this site, but it is car related thread so idk.
Apparently I could go to the dealer and test drive some cars, and so I did.

Think I'll trade it for a Subaru Impreza, cuz it drives the best for me and it's comfortable, Nissan Kick was good and it had a nice feature change it to FWD in-case you don't need to, and Buick Encore GX was my least favorite, ever since I test drove one of the family members car, (Nissan Rouge), I dislike any car that have "Turbocharged" in their engines, perhaps it's a skill issue, but when I try to just drive slow and slightly press the gas pedal, it just goes fast when I don't want to, and same as the kick the FWD button is nice.

I don't think a turbo has anything to do with what you describe, sounds more like a description of a weird adaptive drive by wire pedal map. I'd pass on a 3 cylinder Buick too though if I were a new economy segment car buyer.

Is this directed at me out of a lack of understanding of what I actually said? Or someone with an opinion yet to be expressed in this thread? Because nobody here said anything close to "the 2027 3 series looks better than bangle era cars".

I notice when driving that there are vehicles that have LED DRLs, where one side is not working. Do you think the cause of this is low quality components / engineering, or improper collision repair?
I've noticed it too aswell, mainly with newer Audi's and BMW's.

My educated guess is that it went something like this: Some cost analysis nigger dweeb convinced management to reduce manufacturing costs with added bonus of increasing sales through service channels, which resulted in engineers using worse electronics, thus shortening lifespan of LED drivers inside those headlights.
On the topic of LED headlights as well, do you believe the manufacturer should have an obligation to ensure that the lighting on the vehicle is functional through the vehicle's entire lifespan, since replacing a broken bulb is no longer as trivial as going to a parts store?
Yes, honestly, manufacturers went more than half century back to where each cars make and models had their own proprietary headlights, which made servicing them a literal nightmare. I'm not looking forward towards the day when my Kia Soul's LED headlights call it quits.

On top of the obvious cost cutting issues, cooling is important to ensuring LEDs last, being in sealed housings on the border of a hot engine bay isn't an ideal place for them. To make matters worse for someone on the hook for the bill for a new OEM headlight assembly, some of them have the drivers built in. Electronics don't like heat, the auto industry used to understand that. For example ECUs used to be almost always be mounted in the cabin somewhere. Some of the old BMWs I owned had the ECU and other units in a compartment separated from the engine bay, it had a temp sensor which would switch on a fan (10) located behind the glove box, which fed cool cabin air through a duct, warm air returned under the dash through a rubber hose (14).

Then they started doing this kind of shit:

(the heat sink in the middle of the engine cover is the ECU)

I very much can just enjoy putzing around riding boost onset on and off for hours. It really never gets old.

Being very slow? :P S58/B58 are some of the very best engines they've ever put out. Edit, and for randomness, noticed that car is running a Deka clutch pack.
