Long after American independence Italians came to the new world with eggplant parmesan, but soon learned Americans fucking loved chicken. They too fucking loved chicken. Voila: chicken parm.

Chicken parm is commonly served over spaghetti or other Italian noodles, but it has been adapted for different purposes. Americans like shit between bread, so sandwiches were made. Brits and Aussies love fried shit so they serve it with fries and salad. Asians love fried shit so they serve it with soy sauce and stir fry or noodles. Really it's the best chicken dish (except maybe pot pie).

The Australian pub classic variant of the Chicken Parma really is amazing. Best chicken meal for sure.
Just looking at images of it makes me hungry:

Trying to order anything else other than a parmi at a pub is impossible its that good
I always think I should try other things but Nope almost always get a Chicken Palm Vagina. on the odd occasion I will go with a Beef Scnit and Pepper gravy though.

I hate food purists. Imagine not trying all of those delicious variations bc some old Italian woman wouldn't approve.
I rarely see Nona complain online or off it is usually randoms or "influencers". If you are over at your grandparents or inviting them over you obviously cook the meal to their tastes and they deserve it though other than that cook anything however you want to cook it as most chefs/purists tend to only get annoyed at the improper classification of foods.

I can see where purists are coming from as I would find it annoying to order or go over to a friends house and they say they are making something only for it not be what they said it was. A simple signifier that the meal is your spin on the dish would go a long way to shut up most purists.

I forgot to talk about parm... I don't really like it as when my father made it he would bake the chicken with to much sauce turning the breading into mush. I love my father, but he really ruined my enjoyment of parms. However these pictures show a crispy chicken (minus the chicken katsu curry as that is not parm) so I might try some again soon.

I've only ever made Chicken Parm a few times from a recipe I copied off a youtube video ( I think the channel was "Smokin' and Grillin' with AB", it's a chubby black guy that makes good shit) and the breading for that was just Italian bread crumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese (the powdered, Kraft kind in the green tube). I'm sure there's better but that was pretty simple and works for me as someone who barely knows how to cook. Bonus if you can find garlic infused olive oil to fry it in.
