Then why come here to "answer questions" when you don't have even these basic things written down yet? I don't get why you're trying to sell the idea of this Kickstarter without information to answer the most basic questions.

The trailer is nothing more than 1 minute and something seconds of Chris drawing, drinking tea, looking at the sky and Barb telling us something the wiki and many other videos have already told us. The only interesting bit is the end with Megan and even then it doesn't really assures what she will add to this documentary that we already know. You talk big about this trailer and the material you have but you haven't showed anything really.

The problem here is not the documentary itself. If it gets made and published then cool. The problem is the whooping $20.000 they're asking for it. There are hundreds of videos and almost two thousand articles on Chris in the internet that can be accessed for free. I highly doubt it will present anything that we haven't discussed to death in here so the price of admission seems ridiculous, especially when he says that the material is already filmed and done with. He pozloaded my negholep and he's asking $20.000 for it.

I didn't come here to this board of all places to sell the docu, i already been a member here for years and i been helping from afar contacting people for Joseph. So i figured I can answer some things since it was posted, but some of these questions i'm not the best person to ask. I wasn't there for filming any of this docu. I was told there was hours of footage, more than he'd be able to put into a film.

To your second point, If the trailer didn't interest you then it didn't interest you, what can i say? There's obviously going to be stuff in here that's old news to Kiwi. I figured the appeal of the docu for Kiwi would probably be to dissect the hell out of it i just thought we'd be able to release it first lol. I think the Megan/Barb stuff could be interesting, I seen some of the more humorous Chris clips, there are some great quotes. I think you will be amused by house Chris acts when he knows he's shooting a documentary. So i mean, if you want to watch it, i do think Kiwi people fill find good parts about it even if some of the topics are old hat.

The 20k i can't do anything about at this point, Joseph listened to everyones advice on the tiers, but even if he wanted to lower post-publishing he can't. I don't know if he could cancel the whole thing and launch another campaign with a lower amount. But i did say already i thought the goal should have been like 5k and be happy if it got extra, it's just not my decision.

I honestly don't know, it's not my call. Joseph knows pirating will be going on and i think he genuinely just wants to make the best film he can cause he knows people will watch it cause it's Chris-Chan, but doesn't just want to point the camera at people and $$ he wants to put in work and have some ambition about it.

However.

I'm not counting on the kickstarter to succeed personally and Joseph knows that, i'm in agreement that the goal is too high. When Joseph approached me with the idea of a Kickstarter i told him 5k might be a good goal. He has other plans i presume and that's fine he can set it to whatever he wants, i can't really do anything about it, it's not my movie.

Never thought the day would come where I would want to be a mod.

Badly.

While I will admit I'm impressed by the level of professionalism that seems to be presented here in the video, the big amount of cash concerns me, like what does he need all that cash for when there have already been self published documentaries like genosamuel and others that are definitely worth watching? I will probably follow it along the way to see what happens though, as it does look interesting. Usually I would be against weening but I wonder how this would turn out, he seems to at least be able to do some stuff with having an interview with Barb and more.

Have they even remotely explained any of what the budget's going into yet?

Here is Joseph's breakdown for the 20k:
The Budget Breakdown:
We are expecting the travel costs associated with getting content from some of our collaborators to cost around 3,000 including Travel, Meals, Lodging and Car Rental
Payment for Collaborators will be around 2,000
Lawyer Fee we are expecting to be around 1,000 for contracts including release forms and location releases
A city permit to shoot in public is generally around 600 and the film insurance can vary but we expect 1,600
3,000 will be for bills so i can take the necessary time off of work to film
This leaves us with 4,400 for additional collaborators who have not signed on yet. This is the main places where the budget will go and gives us wiggle room to attract more interviews and additional travel costs.

This is clearly going to take the Stone Cutters to stop.

This seems to be a professional independent film. Pre-production has already wrapped. And $20,000 isn't all that unrealistic of a goal for a professional film meant for distribution.

The key thing with this production is the direct collaboration with Chris and Barb. Surprisingly Megan as well.

We all know there's more than a sufficient amount of tards out there willing to cough up mommies money for this stupid film. And once it's released, we know damn well everyone single of one us is going to watch the documentary and create a 400 page thread about it repeating the same bullshit over and over again as we always fucking do.

Chris and Barb were already paid out of pocket

So you've paid the Chandlers "out of pocket" before the movie was funded and now you expect us to reimburse you for the costs? And you're coming here to promote your project in a community that has shunned giving money to Chris since before it has existed in this current form?!

Also you keep telling us that there will be a movie regardless of the kickstarter being funded because you already paid the Chandlers and filmed everything without having a reasonable expectation of making that money back to your pocket?

How fucking stupid are you and more importantly how fucking stupid do you think we are when you ask us to pay $20k for a movie that you keep saying will be made regardless of funding and when you openly state a part of this money is going straight back to Chris' pocket?!

I honestly think that now that you've embarassed yourselves by spilling all these details, you might be the biggest wiins in Christory. Congrats.

Joseph knows more about all this shit than i do lol I should probably just let him talk at this point cause i don't have much left to say about it. I know Joseph took some photos to finish the wall of originals, and that Chris gave him the fabled I'm on TV master copy and the directors cut to draw footage from and return. According to Chris the master copy has stuff no one has seen before, but admittedly, that could be additional hours of animal crossing movies. Chris volunteered a lot of stuff without asking, he was excited to be help. Sent Joseph home with some original sonichus and a couple of the wall of original cards as gifts. That's about it.

Would yall pay the 20k if we gave Chris Blue Arms?

Yeah, not even the boys who got fucked by Michael Jackson were payed for their documentary.

I wouldn't pay if Chris was given blue arms. The only way I would pay is if the two fags involved in this plus Chris and Barb drank bleach.

You should tell him to put this on the Kickstarter page, rather than all that stretch goal stuff. It just makes more sense.

Kicktraq projection. I'll try to keep an eye on it and post an update if it changes significantly.

Considering there was a non-negligible pre-production budget, I'm guessing 8k is barely even paying for costs (pre, post, all man-hours, etc).

EDIT apparently several sites claim that a small-scale documentary costs $500-$1000 per minute on the final film. So they're at a loss currently if the entire film is over 15 minutes. That value actually makes some sense, considering equipment, travel, entire days of shooting...
