In the wake of nu-shock games, like Atomic Heart and Judas, here is Fargo's attempt in the most original way possible:

Brian says the game is a True and Honest RPG:

Will the game be a formidable rival to its contemporaries, or will pale in comparison even to its weak predecessor?

Dunno what to call classical steampunk (high steampunk?) but it's a tired aesthetic and somehow has no good games under its belt. Maybe let is sit for another decade until it's less of a tranny thing. At least you not forced into playing the pajeet but your character will still be some wannabe antifa spaz no matter how you cut it. An rpg is more than a character creator and a couple of stats.

It's so worn out that it's an aesthetic which has now become a genre in and of itself, which is annoying.

This game is having an identity crisis. It doesn’t know if it wants to be Dishonoured, or a Witcher-esque rpg, or a full on shooter, or a time twisting prince of Persia-esque game. The scope is way too massive.

If there is any company I still trust, it's InXile. This is pretty much the only game I am still looking forward too, well that and being optimistically positive for Outer Worlds 2 simply because the bar for the first game was set so low. I hope the RPG elements are solid and that the game's setting/story isn't a dud like Bioshock Infinite.

wastlenad 3 was proto woke. there is no way in hell this shit isnt pozzed to hell and back
"Proto woke" isn't a thing no matter how many retards try to force it. Also, I didn't notice anything too bad in that game, it's mostly people throwing minor things out of proportion because they enjoy complaining more than playing games. At the same time, something like Clair 33 or KCD2 isn't woke because "I like it" or "it has boobies!" Those "people" shouldn't be taken seriously.
I don't care how woke CR is as long as it's good. InXile is one of the few studios that still knows how to make a good RPG, if they can't do it nobody can.

Mixed expectations, I'll wait at least a month to buy it (Maybe more if DLC is planned).

It seems to feature Marvel humor based on the first half of the trailer AND the developers behind the Saints Row reboot. On the other hand it looks interesting to me (I do like steampunk) and it has Brian Fargo at the helm, which unless I have outdated info wasn't down with the whole DEI/Woke/SJW nonsense and generally makes good games?.

If I remember correctly, the first trailer was fine, so maybe this is a recent development thanks to nu-Volition joining ship. If so, even if this game fails, I am blaming everything entirely on them.

I think the most shocking part of finding out about this game is that these guys made fantastic contraption and line rider 2.

I liked The Bard's Tale as a kid and it was cool that Cary Elwes was the MC and Tony Jay was the narrator. The games humor wasn't overplayed at the time the game out yet either.
