It not, it a rebrand Retro VGS.

http://www.retrovgs.com/

The Retro VGS or whatever their calling it now is supposed to be a new video game system that uses cartridge. The system itself is a old Atari Jaguars console shell and a Wii U pro Controller.

They also had a fail indiegogo too.

They wanted about 2 million dollar for a prototype that they haven't even created yet. There even more drama about this system but I need to dig it up first.

That's all puppies and rainbows, but someone let me know when they finally bring back Tiger handhelds. That would be totally radical and bodacious, dudes.

I knew that thing looked familiar. I remember reading about it on atariage when they got the Jaguar molds.

Atariage has a huge thread about it.

http://atariage.com/forums/topic/235430-how-has-this-not-been-posted-yet-retro-vgs/

There also a good interview with a former member of the Retro VGS name Kevtris

http://nintendolegend.com/2015/09/interview-kevin-kevtris-horton-on-the-retro-vgs/

He also comment in the atariage thread but from what I'd understand is that he was hired to created the motherboard for the Retro VGS and not only did they want him to created a new system but also a system that can play Atari 2600 to SNES/Genesis games too.

Finally here a couple video from Pat the NES Punk about the system.

This system is pretty much vaporware. The fact they wanted about 2 Million without even having a prototype should be enough red flag for this to be a scam. Also this isn't the same Coleco from the 80s that sold the Colceovision, this is a different company that happen to have the right to the Coleco name. The last thing that this Coleco sold was a handheld system that has a couple game gear/master system games build into it called the Coleco Sonic.

@Pickle Man
I'll have to read that thread. Who were the "idea guys" on this, Joe Cracker and Piscea Sikono? They should have listened to Kevtris. He knows his stuff.

I'm amazed Coleco's still around. I thought the Sonic was the last thing and the name was out and out discontinued.

As for the RetroVGS, that thing smells of scam, and I'm surprised more people didn't take notice of it sooner.

Mike Kennedy is the only name I can find, he seem to be one behind this project.

Found two Kevtris post from the atariage thread that you might like.

From what I have read, they will have a system for show at a toy fair in February

Because I'm a sucker for video game industry/history stories, I'm now finding myself engrossed in this. It's pretty hilarious and definitely worth a read to anyone who likes schadenfreude stories (but isn't that synonymous with "Kiwi Farms" ...?). And honestly, all I can think when going through it is that the people creating the system seem to be almost worthy of lolcow status themselves - loads of promises, priorities in all the wrong places, lack of professionalism, believing that every naysayer and every person trying to ask actual questions or critique the business model is a troll, deleting Facebook comments accordingly... actually, it's like the video game version of Hayden Black and the Gen Zed debacle (which has a very popular thread in the Tumblr subforum) ...

Hate to bump this thread but there been some new development in the Coleco Chameleon. They not once but twice failed trying to pass off something else as a prototype. At the toy fair, they try to pass off a SNES Mini stuff in a Atari Jaguars shell with duck tape as a the prototype but now they got caught trying to pass off a capture device card in a atari Jaguars shell as another prototype too. At this point their pretty much set on created the lolcow of video game system.
