Imagine defending SONY illegally abusing DMCA in order to silence discussion, on a forum that got double DMCA'd. Jeremy being a clickbait grifter of no worth and Sony spending a lot of money on their product doesn't excuse it.

I've always thought Jeremy would be more at home with Collider, but came to the table too late and got stuck with the fandom menace. Even after being spat on by Snyder he still wants his audience to consoom.

I can say with absolute sincerity that out of all of the ones I know about, absolutely none of them.

But I also kind of hate obsessive nerds in real life so maybe I'm the weird one.

Or is this just going to be a comic book where the characters have big eyes. Because I've noticed a lot of comicsgaters playing fast and loose with the term "manga" and I'm starting to feel like it's being used as nothing more than a marketing tool.
I looked up Jose Garcia and while he's undeniably talented, I don't see anything in his portfolio that looks distinctly "manga", nor can I find any evidence of him having worked on manga in the past.
I don't doubt that he'll create a gorgeous book for you, but what exactly makes it a manga?
Just something to consider. Either way, this does look good and I'll probably check it out.

Yeah, I guess I just meant a book that looks like a Manga comic. But again, I don't know anything about it. I'm not a fan. I'd write a story and have my artist arrange it like a manga.

Am I wrong?

My point was he was poking the bear so to speak and acted surprised and claimed to be a victim when DMCA hit him. Then he used being banned from twitter to launch the Geeks and Gamers website premium forums, where presumably the exiled Jeremy would interact more with his fans. At a Price.

At the end of the day manga is just the Jap's word for comic, it has an insane amount of artistic differences between works, the general commonality is using very strong black and whites, the frequent use of screen tones, and the way it is read. (edit: and the giant eyes of course)

The art you posted looked attractive.
The story has possibilities.
Maybe you irk some (overseas) geeks if you and your team don't exactly adhere to some template set in stone they are used to.
Would they buy or give it the light of day in the first place.

This is how I would have handled it.
No 2 hour cope stream.
If you did not shut that stuff down when the Zack messiah logged in.
Then release a video simply saying this:
We wanted to rise money for a good cause and Mr. Snyder invited himself on our stream. We were looking forward to share how much the cause of preventing suicide means to us.
Unfortunately Mr. Snyder chose to quote slanderous materials and to politicize the charity stream.
We will be donating the money from the stream as promised and will not ask Mr. Snyder back on the stream.

That's IT. No 30 minute videos crying about it. Put it back on the director. STOP grifting.

I'm not really in a position to tell you if you're wrong or not, I'm neither a comic artist nor a manga artist, and I'm the last person to tell someone they're not allowed to try something new. At the same time, if we're going to be relying on the term "manga" to sell books, it might be prudent to have a good understanding about what attracts people to manga as opposed to comics. I actually prefer the work of American artists most of the time, but I read much more manga because they tell their stories and showcase their themes in a way that appeals to me. The character motivations are more relatable, the world building is usually better and the writing feels more personal. So selling something to me based on a "manga artstyle" isn't the best approach. I'm looking for that "manga writing style".
Honestly I don't care if Jose is Japanese. Doors are opening and there are lots of foreigners in the industry these days. I was just trying to illustrate that definitions matter, especially when you're attempting to sell a product to a group of people who are far more familiar with said product than you are. You have a chance to really benefit by capitalizing on all the things manga does right, and I'd hate to see you pass that up.
But I'll stay optimistic. You've made it clear that you're specifically going for a "manga art style" and from the image you posted, Jose can certainly pull that off. You're also admitting you don't know much about manga and you're outsourcing a lot of those responsibilities to Jose, which sounds like a good move. I look forward to seeing the final product.

There's a manga look and then there's manga. What I think you're going for is a regular book "inspired by the art of Manga" which would be the most accurate description. A real manga, which would be cool for people who read manga, would be right to left reading with the cover on "the back" of the book as Western readers might identify it. I'd say that Xenotype is not an accurate example but you can't refer to that because you burned them all lol.

Mandy Summers and Fyzzgigity ONLY WHEN her hair resembles something feminine.

The former because I have a thing for the whole Deep South barefoot & pregnant schtick; the latter because she strikes me as one of those girls with serious phycological issues who as a result of her fried nerves is a wicked inna bed.

Charlie’s London would be a bangable girl-next-door; sadly she has a penchant for painting her eyebrows like she’s feverishly filling in a Sesame Street colouring book. I sure hope her comic art is pencilled far better than her Groucho Marx’s.
