He has disavowed CG as a whole countless times. But I do get the impression he is on more of a friendly roasting relationship with EVS (with some annoyance on both sides) rather than a rift.

And he has said about friendships with civilians himself in a video about a Larry Hama interview.
In a way, he was on the same side with EVS during the culture war for comics, while EVS has this habit of making fwiends out of people who he works with (like with Gail Simone and a lot of the ex-CGers) which makes their relationship very disfunctional to say the least.
Also: Let's be honest, this is not the CG thread, but the "Friends, Former Friends and A-logs of EVS" so basically a CG/TFM thread.
Zack's a coward. He disavowed his jokes about Maggs because he thought mocking the troon was "too cruel" after learning Maggs is autistic. The internet is no place for limp-wristed faggots.

That was Shane Davis, not me.
I'm aware of Shane's opinion of writers but I did hear you lament their neuroticism and general shittyness on a recent stream, or at least something to that effect. However, since you're calling me out on it and I can't seem to find any receipts, I'll submit a retraction. Being right isn't worth 80 hours of you doing crunch time on drawing frogs, CG KINGS, JACK Show, et al.. Especially considering the context. You just had on Correia and you did a fine job with the interview and you deserve to feel good about that. I was the one being shitty and I apologize.

Honestly? One hell of a stream. Certainly helps that, compared to most authors, who tend to be a fairly shy or introverted bunch, Larry is a goddamned rock star, and gives some great interviews, as this and the Rekieta stream prove.

Also, I think it proves some rumors I've heard about Baen Books starting to reach out and try some unconventional marketing of their books and authors. I might have to call a friend I have over there during lunch. Because goddamned, Baen actually going on the offence for marketing and promoting themselves and their authors? That could go some wild places, do some real good for the genre, and added bonus, piss off all the right people.

Larry Correia is an actual mainstream talent and actual big name. I know quite a few people who follow Correia's writing very closely who have no clue what any of the CG stuff is. Actually a big chance for Frog to potentially expand his audience, and show that there are some mainstream creatives left that haven't been subsumed by the system quite yet.

Admittedly, I'm only vaguely familiar with Comicsgate, but Larry even pointed out in the stream, Sad Puppies was kind of the first battle in these modern culture wars, and the righties (at least on the surface) lost big time because they didn't come prepared for a fight, and admittedly because a ton of people... much to my shame, myself included... kept quiet to called for "higher standards" or some tripe that was immediately tossed out as the wokies took full control.

Gamergate, Comicsgate, the full woke hijacking across popular culture... it all started there, and nobody outside spec fiction publishing paid attention until it came for them or their industry or franchise.

Honestly, there's a ton of overlap and I'm shocked there hasn't been more common ground between guys like Larry and other right wing pundits and creators before now.

Didn't know you were a member here - that was a hell of a stream, hope you have Larry or authors like him on more often. There are some great right-wing authors out there, and it's nice to see someone with a platform promoting them.

YBZ is a wierdo trying to be a normie.
If you were in an office job with him he would be the slightly neurotic guy that comes off as strange and geeky but also kinda fine I guess.
In an internet movement of people too retarded to be part of the uber-retarted comicbook industry he is almost vanilla.

PS: The CG normie is probably Sweetcast/Clint Stoker.

Keep in mind that Comicsgate is not about people who read. Some may read comics, but books? Today? I doubt it.

Never been into it, but I guess it was the Rabbit Puppies who Amber Hearded the bed.
Good to hear Baen is going more aggressive, maybe Sci-Fi will start selling again (outside of self-publishers)

Edit: @FROG your comment about Ukrainians being Nazis made my day.

Whatever happened to the Rippaverse? I'd forgotten about it. Apparently the first book went to print six months ago?

[EDIT: that tweet was 5 months ago not 6. Math fail.]

Frog did a good job, he made his guest look great, came off well to his guest's fans and sidetracked into the child gangbang scene from IT and abortion only once. Maybe Comicsgate needs a delegation team to help reach out and forge ties with other outrage movements?

My CG Draft:

SpiritScar
Liam Gray
Fizzchozo
Jon Malin
Ro Kabir
Vikki
Nasser

The goal was only $1000.

Though, to be fair, the fact that Tim is still able to trick people into buying books with his shitty art is something of an accomplishment.

his Art style is anime girls with big titties. That’s going to fly off of the shelves every time. Plus, he has a ton of bundle options where one can catch up on all of Iconic comics titles at cheap prices. I mean you can have all the books and digitals for 125 dollars. How is that not going to sell?

From what I gather, the book has been done and received from the printer for awhile to the tune of something like 10,000 copies for a first printing. He was waiting on "9 or 10 items" of associated merch (that apparently arrived today) so that the moment the actual content is revealed you can buy it all and get it with no delay. As @YoungRippa59 himself might say, "it's cocky". Of course, not a peep about the content itself unless I missed something, but he does have people in his stream dropping $20, $50, and $100 superchats for the privilege of suggesting he make desk sculptures of characters that nobody has seen. This is a post-Avatar world we're living in. It's all a dicey proposition, even with the best of intentions and just listening to him talk about it and playing off the audience reaction is enough to provoke mild anxiety. But, like I've posted before I don't think the content is the point of any of this. It's a product to be purchased and consoomed with an associated community with which to belong (NOW infused with eXtreme Purifying Political Idealism!™). That's the value proposition so in that sense more power to him and the audience/customers, I guess. If that's true then they're getting much more than they're paying for with the sheer amount of hype going on.

I'm going to hope these are posters that arrived today.

Apologies for my basic bitch questioning, and also if this is late - but what is the general consensus on Dan Fraga, speaking in the context of his Comicsgate role/campaigns?

I’ve never had time for pseud stoners, and Pineapple Boom Shit Down or whatever looked as appealing as an un-modded copy of Fallout New Vegas. But I do acknowledge his pedigree. I just feel his persona makes him seem more indispensable on CG standing than is actually the case.

Of all TFM people, he's the only one that has actually produced something. For that @YoungRippa59 gets my props. I don't know anything about the product other than it's going to be a world building endeavor, but I'll have some time now to hear him talk about it and sell me on it.

Also in that video a Doomcock shoutout, another guy who has been unpersoned. Lets not forget Nerdrotic used to do a show with Doomcock every week (The Inquisition)
When did Doomcuck get unpersoned? I thought him and Gary were besties. I can't say I'm surprised to see that crowd selling each other up the river after Zack Snyder shit on them and their during a livestream put on *by* G+G and the hosts did nothing to call Snyder out on it. They don't care about their audience, they care about their superchats.

Pardon my density but I don't know what that means in this context.
Not at all. Rippa isn't just producing a comic or a series of comics. He's "launching an IP". Avatar (the James Cameron film) was/is an attempt at an original IP that was launched to a colossal amount of hype but in the subsequent years has basically left no mark on the culture or even sci-fi fandom (despite sequel films incoming). It is also an IP that many suspect was made with strong ideological motivations baked-in. My remark was a sarcastic dig at the notion of "launching a new IP" in a "post-Avatar world" because fuck it if he's going to unironically position himself as taking on DC I'm gonna just go ahead and place him alongside James Cameron and his dumb blue cat people movie (if only as a cautionary tale of one potential outcome). I'm sure Rippa wont mind the comparison as he's no doubt given much thought to the inevitable major motion picture deal anyway.

Last year sometime. The FNT clique got tired of being associated with his constant Kathleen Kennedy rumors and the numerous times he was embarrassingly trolled, like the "Alex Kurtzman yelled my name and punched a flat screen TV" bit he ran with. An intervention of sorts was staged on FNT, but without Doomcock himself present (because, you know, these guys don't like drama), with Ryan Kinnel serving as "Bad Cop" to everyone else's "Silently Consenting to this Knee-capping Cop." Someone forgot to play "Good Cop" and say something nice about Doomock to help him save face (that should probably have been Gary) and he consequently wept bigly.

Apart from FNT, Gary now does weekly shows with Az, who is too stupid to realize he's potentially next to be motherfucked by Gary should the opportunity arise. He also does a show with Chris Gore, who probably thinks he's safe because he's not a partner or co-host and is only featured (or maybe he just has no idea Gary is a massively disloyal faggot). Everyone else I'm pretty sure is on Gary's payroll and thus will experience betrayal in a way thats reportable to the IRS on next year's taxes.

You can read more about it here.

As the saying goes, "never trust a junkie".

Gore seems to have a life outside of YouTube, though.

On a completely different topic, has @FROG disowned Cecil? I was half listening to a stream the other day and I swear EVS kept saying shit about him. And not in a joking way.

Nope, still love Cecil. I always say shit about him and I'm always joking.

But I don't want to publish or fulfill CASH GRAB.
