His website still states August, but it's a strange date considering that the campaign itself runs until the middle of September. I don't know why not wait until all sales are in.

Although they agree on many things and have sometimes mentioned each other, CF always seemed to keep somewhat of a distance from CG.

I used to watch them, then it just became something to have on in the background while doing housecleaning and the like. Now I can't even be assed to put the stream on even for background noise. Now the endless laps being run around the Rippaverse hitting high pre-orders... Yeah, he's DOING something, CREATING something that's actually a tangible product. Whether it works out or not waits to be seen, but what are the rest really even doing outside of whining? Yes, people need to bitch and complain to an extent, but even the dorks at Clownfish TV have their Shadowbinders stuff to point to as an alternative they made while they complain. No idea whether it's good or not, but props to them for at least trying.
Hell, I'd even give Tim Pool's stupid chicken billboards more credit as at least he's putting his stuff out where it can't be ignored and making other media that isn't just recordings of whatever pours out of his mouth as he crams the fence post deeper.
Even though I made fun of the thought of Az making "Peeping Tom" into a thing, I'd have more respect for him trying, even if it was an absolute shit show, than him just continuing to do nothing other than point out how everything else is just trash. When you have thousands of dollars in super chats raining down on you at least do something with it other than buying more Legos.

I like ClownfishTV because they often (not always) choose topics that they have personal experiences in, so their chatter feels more educated than the basic points repeated constantly by the G+G/Nerdrotic/etc gang (I'm also putting Drinker together with them - dude has more charisma than Nerdrotic and friends, but my god, he says the same things over and over so often).
They have always refused to openly side with anyone, though. I think they want to be the Tim Pool of pop culture. Recently, with the midterms and all, they have taken to saying they are neither Republicans nor Democrats - Kneon is now a libertarian, or so he claims, while Geeky wants a hard reboot on the US politician roster because she's sick of them all. Not that it matters to me which side they are on, but they are careful to say this because many of their views veer dangerously close to those associated with the alt-right Yahtzee folks, and we can't have that, can we.
In fact, I've unsubbed to most of them. Except for Mr H, because his video titles are like Post-It notes that let me keep updated on what is happening without having to actually watch the video. That and I have a soft spot for Mr H's early Hellraiser stuff.

Don't think they were ever associated, they have always wanted/talked about being their own thing. They are also careful to try and be relatively politically neutral, thought it is obvious that they are/were moderate Democrats, only reason they might not identify with the Dem party is simply because that party has been coopted in large part by radical leftist elements.
They wouldn't even have to create some new creative property at this point, just talk about GOOD STUFF YOU ENJOY. They literally are consuumers in the sense they don't even want to discuss or talk about anything older than the MCU. Baffling because a lot of them seem to have at least some knowledge about older comics, and I thought there was going to be a show where Gary and Rippa were going to talk about some of their favorite comics from the 80s on back, but I haven't seen anything.

Clownfish TV are probably your average old-school democrats that feel alienated by the shift of the party to spouting nonsense about identity politics while shilling for megacorps. As CG went full on right-wing when EVS joined it and brought in any rightwing he could find, most of the democrats/liberals took their distance. I mean, we don't want to be nowhere around the same movement with Methwin or JDA.
Mr. H - I do liked his Hellraiser stuff but he is the somber, boring UK Kitchen Nightmares to TFMs US much more insano version.

This new Predator movie is going to throw them for a loop. Early reactions are positive and even Mr H said it was good.
Having just watched it myself it is easily second only to the original movie. It's the best movie I've seen in months with everything you could ask for in a Predator movie, doing so inspite of a female lead to boot.
There is Zero Mary Sue in Naru's characterization. She works for everything she gets done. The memberberries make sense in the finale sequence and everything is written to a tight 90 minutes of low budget Sci-Fi.
If there's positive to come out of Covid Lockdowns its movie makers making the most of their budget. The Invisibility affects could have been done on a The Flash Tv Budget but it in no way impacts the movie. Compared to the diminishing returns of an exhausted MCU product line Prey is refreshing. How this got Direct to Hulu Status while the 2018 Weaponized Autism piece of shit (Endorsed by Ya Boi) got into theatres is a travesty and a mystery.
If the GnG crew, AZ and Gary come out against this Film It's proof positive the only ones swinging the old Agenda Schtick around are the same ones raking in the superchats. They need bad movies. That is their agenda

If a Direct to Hulu Movie can be as good as Prey, The Rippaverse needs a lot more than "Not the Mainstream" to be successful. Predators and Yautja have been a beloved IP/Character since their debut in '87. I doubt anyone remembers the bland Dull Orange on Black color (Thanks Gabe!) scheme of "Avery Silman" 35 years from now. I could be wrong but that name is boring and ISOM sounds like something you pour into a hot bath.

Comicsgate Financial Report: June/July 2022
Summary:
As of August 1st, Comicsgate in 2022 has made $2,748,923, a 5.8% marginal increase from August 1st, 2021's raising $2,589,463.05 by this point in time. On a surface-level view this is quite bad, as 2021 was a significant drop compared to the previous year; even holding at a steady increase of 6% per year would mean that it would take until 2026 for Comicsgate to return to the level of fundraising it reached in 2020. A closer inspection though would take into account the oversized impact that Frog and Meyer's enterprises have on the collective total: Frog has not had a major comic campaign since December of 2020 and Simple Zack has... not been doing well. But if one Frog and Meyer from the situation, the rest of Comicsgate went up 24.4% so far in 2022 and has consistently outraised the previous monthy total every month for this year so far , which I take as a positive sign towards the state of the 'movement' and its ability to attract customers and feasibly support a network of creators.
As to whether 2022 will raise as much as 2021 did, that's still unclear, but I figure it will come down to whether Yellowflash will launch his project with Joe Ball this year or not.

Frog had the position of top fundraiser of July with a second chance campaign for the long overdue Cyberfrog: Rekt Planet, proving that there are at least 1500 backers on top of the original 11,000 that are a mixture of completionists and newcomers since April 2021 when the first Rekt Planet campaign closed. Between Frog and Meyer, the two raised more than the other 96 accounted-for creators in July combined, both in backers and funding 60% and 56% respectively), the top-heavy month almost a throwback to the early days of Comicsgate circa 2017-2018 when all of the active creators could be fit onto a single livestream.
Richard C. Meyer opened his entire back catalog for purchase along with three new graphic novels (Iron Sights 3, Impossible Stars 2 and Jawbreakers Forever) for a total of $182,000 between May-July. It's an impressive total until one realizes that Jawbreakers: Godking and Expendables back in 2020 both raised over $200K each. Time will tell if this loss leader gambit of Meyer's to get his customers to return for his next project will pay off or not.
Third would be Gabe Eltaeb and Truth Justice America Way who raised a total of $40,000 with his four and a half minute spot on Fox News with Eric July, while fourth would be Shane Davis, who raised $35,000 on his closeout for the soon-to-be fulfilled Inglorious Rex that, with the help of Frog and (I believe) a shout out from Eric July, became the second non-Frog CG project ever to raise over $300,000 (the other RGE's Blade Devil). A silver lining of promise in a movement where many of the leading figures in CG circa 2020 have been beleaguered with issues related to quality as well as quantity and now concerns being voiced that the whole "anti-mainstream comics sentiment" may be being subsumed by the fresh, new reality-unimpeded optimism surrounding "the Rippaverse".
Fifth would be the first non-CG King to rank Matthew Fowler (just barely edging out JDA's Overmind) with his fifth campaign with Tyger Blue 2.

Fraga has apparently decided to minimize streaming until he finishes his crowdfunded comic. I think that might be true, but I also notice the few times he’s appeared on streams he doesn’t look exactly well - he appears to me to have the puffy you face you get from prednisone.

Depends on your definition of "active"; it's going on year 3 with no book so in a sense Dan Fraga is doing his part to fight cancel culture by giving the SJWs nothing to cancel.
Things have been relatively quiet in Comicsgate lately, especially when compared to the din surrounding "the Rippaverse" and the degenerate circlejerking that went down at Anime Matsuri. The closest thing to a "happening" was the sudden and without warning cancellation of the diverse and inclusive big booty latinx Batgirl movie, a consequence of Warner Brothers changing ownership to Discovery Inc and David Zaslov as the new CEO.
Frog has been spearheading his own homemade press cycle, heralding the coming of "Based Zaslav" and his radical course correction for the struggling media empire. Lauded as a great victory in the culture war, the Comicsgate leader has taken to prophesying that the CEO will usher in a measure of cold reality into the woke plague strangling the mainstream culture, wresting the levers of the culture industry away from the soyboys and diversity hires and returning them to their rightful owners in the name of white (jewish) male supremacy, replete with a flood of glowy eyed thumbnails of the media mogul gloating over pictures of libruls melting down about the 2016 election.
There are a few cards Frog's holding close to his chest here. For one, his own agenda in seeing Geoff Johns (with his partially Frog-owned IPs) improbably come out on top over both Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder in the cutthroat world of high stakes board room competition to be the one charting the course for the DC Comics-derived movie and media juggernaut, as well as some monologues I recall him making on livestreams last year of having a conversation with an unnamed individual affiliated with Discovery that left him with the impression that there will be a top-down purging of extreme leftism in WB (and it's subsidiaries like DC Comics) and this is the opening salvo neoliberal hegemon. Whatever the case, Frog has made his stance on the issue clear, but this all poses an uneasy balancing act of being both a counterculture leader while having a growing vested interest in the mainstream establishment. Where will all this end? Who knows!
However this has not gone unchallenged. Simple Zack, apparently gassed up by some non-arguments and unbacked declaratives by Perch (as he often is), has seized the cancellation of the shitty Batgirl movie as an opportunity to argue that this apparent course correction by WB's new management as unassailable proof that there was never a course to begin with, and that proponents of the theory that Biden-legislated ESG gave incentivization for the creation of otherwise uneconomical woke entertainment were 'totally destroyed' by the cancellation of the Batgirl movie. Both Perch and Zack's arguments boil down to the diea that parent companies do not impose and do not showcase standards on their subsidiary companies when presenting them to investors, a case persuasively made by the pair of them yelling "It just doesn't!" over and over. Thus, comics were never subject to ESG, it was just their parent companies that were (?).
"Ya Boi" even went so far as to issuing a challenge to any of the guests in his carefully pruned echo chamber to meet the burden of proof for some strawmanned argument he made about Blackrock, something he argues no one has done to his satisfaction. Now while Washington lobbyist/Comicsgate karaoke guy Robert Romano laid a fairly comprehensive thesis last year on his website as well as a spoken walkthrough on a (now unfortunately privated) livestream with Frog, both of these were really long and used big words as well as not being made in TikTok form, meaning they may as well not exist as far as the Simple One is concerned.
Much of Meyer's angst over this issue appears to stem from his now privated hot take (rehosted above) on the subject, made back in November where he spoke with all the unassailable authority of someone who once started a channel with the intent of taking fiscal advice from people in his youtube comments section can muster, which amounted to him saying he "skimmed the wikipedia" on ESG, complained about the entry being "hard to read" but it sounded like some other thing he did hear of, and concluded that the theory isn't real. Despite these impressive credentials, Comicsgate thoughtleaders like Cecil handwaved Meyer's information-free dismissals as the contrarian spergings of an uninformed retard who deluded himself into thinking his few months of daytrading instead of fulfilling his obligations to backers has transformed him into a financial guru. Which, while correct of Cecil to do, this act has apparently remained stuck in Meyer's craw to this day.
In response to all this, Romano has taken to twitter to post Warner's' 2020 literature to prospective investors touting their compliance to ESG social regulations, which extends all the way to the material by held companies like DC Comics, which objectively flies in the face Perch and Meyer's angry, empty yelling to the contrary. Who am I to believe? The guy who actually follows fiscal policy for a living and actually presents evidence or the other two who just say things and then play victim when asked to prove them? Perch at the moment is busy in his comment section lamenting to Nerdette about the slings and arrows he's taken as a fencesitting martyr while Simple Zack is presumably at a McDonalds reading copy of the Wall Street Journal trying to impress his fellow patrons. Neither can be reached for comment.
