Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Poor little Zack. It's so stressful watching hours upon hours, compiling all the clear and present thoughts and feelings of these damn dirty clowns. The stress of posting community post after community post attacking them and your own fans. I think I've finally been reprogrammed, now all those shitty things I hated because I watched them and didn't like them, I love, because Zack the judge of what is and isn't art said so!

Ugh, I think I am with him (:_(you damn dirty kiwifarmers have been so stressful to my e-daddy.

Don't worry, we cannot stop Zack from his important work!

is it still ad revenue when its all just community posts?
Nah. You don't make ad revenue off of community posts.

Generally speaking provided you're not cursed with the yellow dollar sign of doom, you are gonna make about 1 dollar per 300 views on average from my experience. I let myself be a little autistic about this for a sec and added up all of Zack's views so far for the last 30 days.

He's at about 269,100 views as of right now from the mid point of last month, which would translate to be about 897 bucks. JDA's surprisingly not being spiteful with his estimation of around 400 bucks before this month. He averages around 120k views a month due to his output, plus he doesn't stream (so no superchats) so that's likely where he's at with it.

That New Warriors vid is where he's gonna see a boost. Zach's biggest problems financially with YouTube are that he doesn't stream and he doesn't have evergreen content. Evergreen content is what brings in viewers and keeps them. Livestreams bring in the superchats assuming your community still likes you. On a video upload you can get superchats in the form of "super thanks" but I don't see them that often, and I honestly think I've only ever received one or two.

Much as I hate to say it, Richard's kind of stuck himself in a loop where he's not super likely to get mentioned in the algorithm (YouTube tends to not promote a video via the suggestions tab if you're not getting at least 10% of your subscriber base watching it), and he's also not creating content that's going to get people clicking over and over again.

Zack's latest video, which is about Birthday Party Clowns. is about him reviewing hamburgers (hamburgers as a concept, not particular hamburgers he's eaten) according to what he thinks a Birthday Party Clown would say if they were reviewing hamburgers as a concept. Riveting stuff, no doubt.

All in all, Zack does not play the Youtube game. However, nowadays he is shooting himself on the foot by attacking his audience and his old gang. Had he done what the so called "Birthday Party Clowns" are doing (networking, livestreams, crossovers etc etc) he would not need to couch surf. But he has a long history of bad decisionmaking. Wanting to move to an expensive blue state that is being overrun and burning on a good day, turn his back on his side, still attacking SJWs even though he alienated the anti-SJWs. I remember one video of him talking about how those who return to the military after leaving are seen as failures who could not adapt to the real world and are mocked for it. My theory is that this is the only reason he does not return to the military life despite the fact that he is so unfit for a normal existense. He is like that Quinton Reviews guy: switched sides and ended up hated by both supported only by a hugbox fanbase filled with yes-men.

I actually compare Zack to Angry Video game nerd. You just want him trashing a bad Ice-Man comic with the funny voice he gave him, but he refuses to do it/the magic is gone just like angry video game nerd ran out of videogames people actually care about seeing him make fun of.

I do think Zack is right about the Snow White stuff. No one is actually 'outraged' over it and anyone who says they are is lying.

But ComicGate is pretty much dead on the vine if this is what the 'movement' is reduced to, complaining about Zack complaining about other Youtubers complaining about Disney.

No, because I'm at 2,000 on revenue for the month with 1 million views. CPM has been pretty low the last month. I track this stuff very closely. It's a lull before the election spending ramps up. But it still probably won't double like that. It might hit around $500-600 for those kinds of views.

I also barely stream and don't really get superchats so it's pretty apples to apples.

Livestreams bring in the superchats assuming your community still likes you.
But in Zackworld, you don't get superchats because your community likes you, you get superchats through "panhandling" and begging.
A channel with over a million subs and tens of thousands of live viewers per stream getting superchats is no different than what DSP does in Zack's judgement.

It’s pretty hypocritical, because even though I never have & never will give a super chat, Zack’s (and EVS’s comic vaporware) comics were only purchased to stick it to the pros. For every genuine interest, there was double that for a statement.

It’s essentially expensive tipping to a guy they agree with politically, and he billed his books that way so it’s not only on them for seeing it that way. Crowdfunding is its own form of panhandling, especially when they’re so iffy on putting out the product. (That apparently is not even guaranteed according to him)

So, sometimes crowdfunding is a way to fund an actual commercial product. For example, Bloodstained. The history of Bloodstained is that Koji Igarashi was basically kicked out of Konami after spending decades working on successful Castlevania games. He thought people still wanted Castlevania games though, so he took a chance and raised money for a game he called Bloodstained on Kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night

He met all of his Kickstarter goals and made a viable commercial product with the money, which has since appeared on multiple game platforms and generated two spinoffs in the Curse of the Moon series. You can buy them on Steam, GoG, Xbox Store, Switch eShop and the Playstation store. They aren't restricted to Kickstarter backers or sold as add-ons to a new Kickstarter campaign.

Some of the people who funded the initial Kickstarter probably wanted to stick it to Konami, but the reality is that Iga was right and people still wanted Castlevania games even if Konami was unwilling to provide them.

Meanwhile you have Richard C. Meyers and his tale of diminishing returns. But "mah belly is full" as he says, smugly. I thought the point of Jawbreakers was that people still wanted the G. I. Joe comics he grew up with and he was mad that no one was making them anymore. That he believed there was a gap in the market that he could fill, similar to what Iga did. That might be true, but in my opinion even if it is true, Ya Boi Zack isn't going to be the one to provide them.

They hated him because he spoke the truth.

I agree with him but he’s going so hard at them it’s becoming boring now. Just don’t watch them.

It must be sad for him though, he lit the flame that could have turned into a great creative movement that ran counter to the mainstream garbage that is shat out, instead it’s all just middle aged men grifting for superchats and running unfulfilled crowdsourcing ponzie schemes.

Glory to Zack! Comicsgate delenda est!

I tough you guys were joking about "Simple Zack", but his current shit flinging and mental state put's everything i believed about him into perspective.

I tough he was a culture warrior, criticizing the industry usurpers and trying to take it back or shake it before it was too late. But no, he is a 10 year old. A literal 10 year old in a 50 year old body.

He likes super soldiers and spies and don't like girl jokes because they are icky. And that's it, that is all, nothing else.

  • Why he doesn't like the current state of comics? Because there is no good super soldiers anymore.
  • Why he doesn't like Mags Vestigio and Waid (the whom hos name is forbidden)? Because they took his super soldiers and turn into icky girl comics.
  • Why he doesn't like women in comics? Because they don't create the super soldiers that he likes (if one of the women create a super soldier he likes she will be "one of the good ones")
  • Why does he like Furiosa? Because she is a super soldier.
  • Why does he like that one comic with a super heroine that could create bubbles of silence? Because she was a super soldier spy.
  • Why he created a comic with a back chick with a half shaved head? Because he can fix her type by turning her into a super solder.
  • Why he doesn't like cultural critics? Because they don't care about his super soldiers, so he thinks what they like is for children ("movies being usurped? Why do you care? How old are you? I like super soldiers")
  • How does he fix Spawn? Turn him into a super soldier.
  • How does he saves the comic industry? Creating dozens of series about super soldiers.

EVERYTHING! That is all he does! The fucking guy is a literal NPC, he can't operate outside of his programming, otherwise he will bug out and lash out.

I am really cringing right now, I am cringing that I respected the guy at one point. I am cringing more than remembering the time I sang a love serenade to my preschool teacher when I was 5.

I think that's what he's really mad about - guys like Ethan doing endless livestreams and endless grifting instead of doing what they said they were going to do, which is make counter-mainstream comics.

But he's too much of a wuss to hit at Ethan and his cronies directly so he's stuck whining about guys like Nerdrotic, and no one is going to get what his point is.

Good pattern, and somehow with that, he actually comes across more retarded than an adult without a caretaker should be…

And I’m sorry, no. I’m not giving him, or someone like Perch(ed on a fence post) any credit as “truth speakers” or “rational minds”.

Oh, you want to call out bad behavior on “your side”. Ok, that’s cool:
- Why aren’t you calling out stealing money from your audience and running away with no products, before returning with your hands out again for more money?

- Why aren’t you helping small creators, and potential creators, so you can build a legitimate alternative market?

- Why aren’t you giving nuanced, thoughtful critiques of your own besides “both sides bad, cuz they bad, and they the same, did you know both sides????, and they bad cuz they the same! Two sides!” and beating that over and over again?

- Why are you allowed to make endless outrage content about the outrage content, and expect us to champion that outrage as righteous?

- Where is the content you feel should be championed, instead of jealous ramblings, hypocrisy, and muh “both sides” preaching?

They’re not offering anything better, correct, or honest.

Anyone still defending Zack, please re-read these and then also think more logically about the dumb shit he keeps doing and has been doing.

He is what he hates. But it's en vogue right now for him to do it because most of those guys don't give a shit about him, or their fans don't buy his shitty comics.

That's why he doesn't go for Frog and his legion of doorknob lickers. Most of those retards still buy his shitty books and they are all anti-anti-sjw because they tried to do the anti-sjw thing and didn't have the stomach to grift it right, which means the 'zeroes' left them all in the dust and now they are bitter old faggots.

Get better E-daddies

Preaching to the choir here.

Zack used to be lovable funny dumb. Sitting in a McDonalds parking lot, chowing down on an Egg McMuffin, bitching manically about the sorry ass state of the comics industry through a 144p cellphone video.

Now, sadly, he's just dumb.

To give you some answers:

Oh, you want to call out bad behavior on “your side”. Ok, that’s cool:
- Why aren’t you calling out stealing money from your audience and running away with no products, before returning with your hands out again for more money?
Because that theft benefits HIM!

- Why aren’t you helping small creators, and potential creators, so you can build a legitimate alternative market?
Because that would mean interacting and compromising with others and their vision which is something he cannot do.
- Why aren’t you giving nuanced, thoughtful critiques of your own besides “both sides bad, cuz they bad, and they the same, did you know both sides????, and they bad cuz they the same! Two sides!” and beating that over and over again?
Because he is grasping at straws out of envy.

- Why are you allowed to make endless outrage content about the outrage content, and expect us to champion that outrage as righteous?
Because he is a hypocrite.

- Where is the content you feel should be championed, instead of jealous ramblings, hypocrisy, and muh “both sides” preaching?
Envy and bitterness are all he has now. He is the founder of CG and yet he is one of those that has the least amount of money, fame and glory. In his eyes, the crime the CGers have done is doing a lot better than him.

But like... what bad behavior? I keep hearing folks like nerdrotic called a "grifter" and I don't follow him religiously but I've never see him ask or beg for money. Dude is just telling his opinion, and if people like it enough, they toss some shekels his way. He hasn't even done a crowdfunding campaign offering to sell something as far as I can tell. Is he just supposed to not have the super chat feature enabled or something?

It would be like if Zack pointed to a guy sitting across a bar who is apparently friendly and popular to a lot of other bar patrons, who keep buying the dude additional rounds to keep him talking and entertaining him, and Zack is saying, "Can you believe that guy??"

I'm almost afraid to check but now I'm curious if he's made any comments on Doug Ernst's Soulfinder series which is about soldiers who are also priests (or priests who happen to be soldiers).
