Definition: a person who engages in petty or small-scaleswindling.

I consider them selling the false promise they’d correct the mistakes of the comic industry and their vaporware comics as the solution grifting.

The only one of these 'anti-woke' YouTubers I am subscribed to is Vara Dark, because she respects my time and puts the relevant information in the title and at the beginning of the video. I would never watch any of these other midwits ramble on about nothing for 10+ minutes.

I don't believe they can do anything, and if you had carefully read and thought about the YouTube Skinner box, it would be clear that the chance of them breaking out of it is very low.

However, I can tell you what would dissuade me from kicking them into the pit:

The reinvesting thing always puzzled me thinking about Zack and Ethan. Their very first CG crowdfunds, Jawbreakers and Bloodhoney made 400, 500K that should have beeen enough extra beyond production costs to reinvest and have an actual comic company. Then non-crowdfunded sales would keep all the money to profit and reinvest instead of giving indiegogo a cut perpetually. Instead they juiced crowdfund after crowdfund without completing the previous ones making the ponzi scheme very evident. Then after a brief sales bump in early pandemic 2020 when everyone was inside watching youtube, diminishing returns on that scheme & scam. Those guys were in it for the money and as little work as possible. Screw the ideals and building their own platforms.

Well Ethan turned cg into a cult, Zack was smart enough to avoid the cult. I'm starting to think Zack wanted to be a serious comic book creator considering he killed off most of tge jawbreakers in book 2, Ethan probably expected he would alway make a million dollars so there's no need to reinvest when he could stream & gambling his crowdfund money away.

Most people seem to think it means “someone who I disagree with who makes money.”

Money is an important element. I see it thrown around too much for people who don't make money off it, like Vikkiverse (lives in a type of homeless shelter work program and channel only recently monetized) or Actual Fandom (72 members on patreon, not making a living off something like $400 a month) Are they really grifters or was someone in comicsgate or rippaverse mad at them? Make sure your grifter is making good money or they don't qualify. Anyone in CG Slums and most Rippaverse detractors are poor and don't count.

I think they are lame, and I don't believe they will do anything different from what they are doing right now.
The thing that is triggering my autism is that they call themselves anti-woke, but they are not.
