The first sign of trouble was hiring (((BENDIS))) and giving him full control over Superman from the get-go.
And now you know how I felt when Marvel gave him Guardians of the Galaxy.

Naomi will be written by Bendis and David Walker, and drawn by Jamal Campbell

Info:
It centers on “the only brown-skinned girl in a very white town” in the Pacific Northwest, according to Bendis. When investigating the origins of her adoption, Bendis said she uncovers a “massive secret within the DC Universe.”
And the worst part is this new line is teen focused and part of the main continuity.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
People who work in retail contribute more to society than these fucks, and their job requires a level of professionalism that comic pros are mentally/emotionally incapable of attaining.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
How fucking dumb is the interviewer? These characters are 52 and 51 years old, respectfully. Nothing about them is changed for the movies. What exactly is adapted or rebooted to fit with the times?
it just hit me how fucked DC Comics currently is under Didio. All the goodwill that Geoff Johns earned back with Rebirth, just pissed away the moment Didio got control back.
You should've posted the next one too. I'm pretty sure Stan is too old to give a fuck considering his previous statements on the subject.![]()

STRIKE ONE

STIKE TWOPeter Tomasi was quickly making Superman and Super Sons into must-buy titles, once Bendis was hired DC canceled Super Sons and Bendis fucked with everything people loved about the Tomasi run:
Tomasi made Superman into a family man and made some fantastic stories that focused on the family struggling together against Superman's rougues gallery. This can be best exemplified by one of the early stories 'Son of Superman' (Issues 1-6) after Superman gets absorbed by Eradicator, Jon and Lois have to buy time until Superman breaks free. The have to fight off a guy that's as strong as Superman, in the lunar Bat Cave (yes Batman has a batcave on the moon) Jon using his emerging powers and Lois using any batman weapons she can find, including the HellBat suit (imagine a Bat Armor that allows Batman to go toe-to-toe with Darkseid):

But Bendis cant write a loving family that gets along, so he had to break it. In Man Of Steel, the 6 issue mini prologue to him taking over, he made changes, BIG Changes (some of which i will provide more details on):
- Jon's personality changes.
- The Super Family is broken up.
- Superman forgets super basic stuff like keeping people safe.
- Unnecessary change of Superman origin, instead of planet dying naturally it was the plot of a genocidal cosmic elder.
- Destruction of Kandor (last living city of Krypton) for cheap emotional manipulation.
- Supergirl reverting back to her edgy Red Lantern days (she doesn't get a ring but shes equally pissed off).
One of the reasons this page enrages me is that the Teen Titans didn't include Superboy into their team from the get-go for the same reason Spider-Man wasn't an Avengers for a long time, he was too young.

And once they finally have the vote to add Superboy to the team, they clearly state that the team is too fragmented to have anyone else join them.

To Bendis this read as:

To give a bit more context, In Super Sons of Tomorrow, a time displaced version of Tim Drake (3rd Robin) was on a warpath to kill Jon because his powers went out of control, killing a lot of people in the process. It's also revealed to them that big changes have happened in the DC universe that they were not even aware of.There's more stuff i can sperg out about, but I just quit reading after issue 2 of Bendis Superman. You can atually spot where exactly I gave up hope for Superman on this page:Jon Kent is a bigger boy scout than his old man, after getting Bendis-ed hes now an angsty teen (At the age of 10):

Also nice job colorist, Barry Allen's hair is blond, Wally West is the red head (previous page confirming that is supposed to be Barry):

The Vertigo relaunch being 100% Social Justice themed. It's like Didio saw Marvel imploding, thought it looked cool and wanted to see it up close. Everyone here knows already about these titles and how terrible it started out with Border Town, I have no expectations of any of these becoming best sellers or cult hits.
STRIKE THREE
The latest announcement coming out of DC from New York Comic Con, Bendis is getting MORE titles. He can barely write one title and now hes on fucking 9. And the worst part is this new line is teen focused and part of the main continuity.

Bendis is incapable of writing teens and is now adding a NEW RIRI WILLIAMS, I'm not even joking:

In case you're not familiar with David Walker, he's this guy:

At least Patrick Gleason on art is something to look forward to. I swear, sometimes I think I would actually love a Bendis comic if I was illiterate:
Young Justice #1 from Brian Michael Bendis and Patrick Gleason
View attachment 563212
Info:
Will focus on a superhero team that includes Tim Drake’s Robin, Bart Allen’s Impulse, Conner Kent’s Superboy, and some new characters too, including Ginny Hex, a descendant of Jonah Hex, and Teen Lantern, a young girl from Bolivia with the power of the Green Lanter Corps.
As long as Didio is in charge, DC will be on this downward slope. They might actually start competing with Marvel again, on who can reach bankruptcy first.
TLDR: DCfags rn![]()

I just want to agree with this and point out that DC is even shittier than that because after those writers put in all the work building up Superman, they put out tons of press releases and interviews with Bendis and how he was revitalizing Superman. I always thought that was a tremendously tacky thing to do to those writers.
Bendis is a hack and I wish the mob would call out a cishet white man constantly trying to write WoC and doing so poorly.
Pete Tomasi and Dan Jurgens may not be "superstars" like Bendis, but they are solid writers--and frankly--much better than their replacement. Seriously, that Bendis really command such a large and loyal following? It is true that Avengers skyrocketed to the top of the sales charts when he took over in 2004, but I was already beginning to grow weary of his overly-conversational style then and I was not overly fond of how he handled Secret Invasion and Siege. It's pretty clear that he has stagnated and his fanbase atrophied. From what I hear sales on Superman and Action are no better than they were last year. Between this and Kelly DeConnick on Aquaman and G. Willow Wilson on Wonder Woman, DC fans are in for a rough ride.
I love the Young Justice crew of Tim, Conner, Bart, and Cassie, but I have serious reservations when it comes Bendis writing.
Agreed, Jurgens and Tomasi deserve better than being treated like chopped liver, and have all the work they've put into making those titles worth buying over the past year, be undone by such a overrated sack of shit like this guy.I always thought that was a tremendously tacky thing to do to those writers.

Like I mentioned in my rant, that first Superman story by Tomasi was fantastic and I can see it still selling 10 years from now. I dropped the first arc of (((BENDIS))) Superman at issue 2. I tend to give titles that I think will be bad, a 3 issue try. I doubt it will sell a year from now.Agreed, Jurgens and Tomasi deserve better than being treated like chopped liver, and have all the work they've put into making those titles worth buying over the past year, be undone by such a overrated sack of shit like this guy.

Also comparing Tomasi to (((BENDIS))) is like comparing angus steak to gas station sushi.
