EVS is the biggest disappointment I ever once respected and followed, and thats saying allot when you compare him to rackets.

Many in this thread have suggested EVS is a Liberal and I agree with that sentiment. in 2016 there was no risk to be a conservative Rino speaking out against Muh SJW's but in 2024 this man baby is using every Blue hair weirdo woke excuse to keep his dwindling support base.

It's my understanding EVS was always pretty liberal, but he figured out that the anti-SJW thing was pretty lucrative. Much like his forbearers in Gamergate.

Which is to say, Comicsgate was/is grift in all conceivable ways, including ideologically. He was pandering to a specific demographic.

Mundane Matt was the same way. Somebody posted in the election thread today that he was caught being salty about the Trump win just recently. He can do that now because Bouldergate basically destroyed his old grift. So he doesn't have to pretend anymore.

Yep. I don't understand how if someone as amateur when it comes to running a comic book company as Eric July is able to do so well with it, how Ethan himself can't do the same thing. Like how does that even make any sense?

It's not even about the culture wars in the comics industry.

It's about separating a fool from his money.

Some will undoubtedly argue there's an undercurrent of that with July too, but with July you are at least getting your comics. So it seems less objectionable at the end of the day.

That’s because Eric is a businessman (e.g. tard wrangler), not a creative (e.g. tard). The vast majority of creatives have terrible work ethic and CANNOT work without an editor breathing down their neck. The reason he can put out product on time while Ethan can’t is because Eric is doing a good job wrangling his tards making sure they’re sticking to the schedule while Ethan has nobody to tard-wrangle him.

It is true he is very liberal but so is Trump. Him supporting Cheeto Hitler was enough for his retarded coworkers to make his life hell regardless if he is fairly moderate. He saw CG as his chance to rule in Hell since he could not serve in Heaven anymore.

That is the reason why Image is not as successful as it could have been. Japan is doing the same model they do but they see greater results than Image does. My point is that artists are creatures that need restrictions for both inspiration and discipline.

To be fair, it could be the other way around. Where July's associates help tard-wrangle him. I mean, it feels like some people in this thread (i.e. @Fleetwood) are adamant July is a mouth breathing idiot who is blessed with having enemies who are even bigger mouth breathing idiots. Maybe the work ethic comes from somebody like Chuck Dixon. I don't really know.

In the end, it probably doesn't really matter which way the wrangling is going, if the work is getting done. Here is where July objectively outperforms CG.

Meanwhile, like you say, Ethan has no wranglers. Ethan is king baby. Unwilling to accept criticism. Uncaring about people's expectations. No matter how reasonable.

Another thing is that Ethan seems loathe to wrangle anybody else when it comes to getting work done, so CG as a whole suffers. It's how you ended up with Cecil's Cash Grab taking a million years to come out. Then you got Vito following the CG playbook, with entirely predictable results: No comic.

Speaking as someone who is considered "OG Comicsgate", I can tell you this is 100% ON POINT. As I've pointed out in the past, @FROG has a personality disorder called Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). The worst fear that people with NPD have is of people seeing their true selves. The expression on their face when you see the real them is usually one of fear and panic and their next move is to send their army of Flying Monkeys to destroy and discredit that person. But what happens when the WHOLE WORLD sees them?

Guess what, Ethan? The whole world sees you now. Not the "Human Sunbeam" or the "King of Comicsgate", but a mean, selfish, petty, conniving, vindictive emotionally deformed dwarf. You had a good run, but it's all downhill from here.

Well, I've read his products and I was impressed by them so far...but yeah he does everything he supposed to do with a business and does it right. The fan base is growing too I noticed for the Ripperverse. A few of his former haters are also trying to tell Ethan to quit it as well.
