So what exactly is THEIR metric? Is it the same metric that comic companies use to determine that they aren't actually a dying business? Because that's what Richard did all throughout 2018/2019 and beyond... Say that the business is dead within a few years.

Is the metric making less money than it takes to make the shit they put out? Go on Richard, tell us the metrics you seem to know so much about. Enlighten us poor dumb rednecks who don't know no good art what from Borderlands and Kraven and Crows, yeehaw!!

Not to defend JustSomeGuy, but to be completely fair and using YaNiggaZack's terminology, JSG is ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE more media literate than Zack. They're not even in the same Solar System when it comes to pop culture knowledge. JustSomeGuy shows his work when he critiques Lord of the Rings (he speaks Tolkien's invented language and has read the door-stopper books). He can show that he's read the Star Wars extended universe books. He can quote Star Trek lore. He not only plays video games but he keeps up with the backstage drama within VG companies. He even proves he's read SpiderMan and other Marvel comics when pointing out mistakes in the franchise. All this is leagues above what Zack can say for himself. who has been even corrected by JSG when YBZ misquoted him out of context. What I'm trying to say is that yes, JSG is an actual fag who's super-suss when it comes to defending homo&pedo behavior plus his takes on comics, movies, games, etc... may not always be sterling perfect, and yet he still comes across as the scholarly and insightful one when compared to Zack's lazy and sloppy trailer-park mediocrity.


Edited to add; Oh and AFAIK, JSG has never opened a channel to offer his sage financial advise just because he read some Dave Ramsey book, ALSO, JSG's has never thus far taken money to deliver books that he hopes to fulfill when some future AI is advanced enough to write, draw, print and mail by itself unlike some Boi we know.

One of the problems with the Critical Drinker (who is the focal point of Richard's hate, so I feel comfortable using him as an example) is that he neither says nor thinks that "everything sucks now." He'll praise stuff from Disney if he thinks it doesn't suck, even if it is somewhat woke like Prey.

Fact of the matter is, no one outside of UK and Aus know who Robbie is, or what he's about. It's even less smart to make the main character who was known for his looks and songs, hidden behind a CGI monkey.

No promotion by even Paramount who bought the distribution rights for America (paid 25 mil for a profit of -23.9 mil), leads the film to have about half its total boxoffice taking from the UK alone, with the second and third largest take from US and Aus. (oddly Germany as well). Is this the elusive metric he was talking about earlier?

As pointed out in the comment above, Richard is once again staying up all night worried about what grown men think about things and without thinking about "should I post something or not" immediately blurts it out like a high school girl who wants attention from the boy she likes.

Richard, Drinker isn't into dudes and if he was, I think he can bag a better guy than you.
 
I caught up on Zak after not watching any of his vids for a couple of years. I've never been interested in comics or Marvel or Star Wars but I'm interested in all the culture war crap and his original vids introduced me to Comicsgate. I can't think of another Youtuber who, after some time away from them, has surprised me more with their whiplash change in personality.

I remembered there was a KF Comicgate thread and was curious if Zak was part of the conversation. Glad to see I'm not the only one baffled. I don't think there's anything complicated going on. He's just straight up bitter about his 'career' relative to Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic, etc. But there's also a kind of stupidity that's pretty interesting (#4 below... I'm writing this stream of consciousness).

1. Zak is ranting about how 'conservatives can't appreciate art'. That's wildly delusional given his artistic tastes are absolute lowbrow trash. He's dedicated his life to superhero comic books. I never heard him mention a movie or TV show that wasn't slop. I don't think he's read a book in his adult life. He had a TV review channel where he, completely seriously, was analyzing Sex And the City. If that's your thing, fine. But to proclaim superior artistic integrity from this basis is on par with Black Twitter honestly believing they built America. Zak's original popularity came from pointing out the Emperor's New Clothes when it came to comic sales falling, not from his superior artistic sensibilities.


2. He's a prototypical midwit insecure about his status and formal education. I can't believe him calling Nerdrotic, etc. "hillbillies" ,"inbreds" ,"white trash". Dude, you're 50 and living a mile from the border in a rental and you never see your 3 kids from 3 baby mommas or whatever the fuck. Zak is definitely not dumb. He has good insights about people in a blue collar-wisdom way that's often absent in Ivy League managerial types. I have plenty of respect for someone street smart who didn't grow up reading or having intellectual pursuits. But then don't try to flex with your new 'Vocabulary Word of the Day" which you clearly have never spoken before, using it in a halting way that's almost, but not quite, correct. Mike Tyson used to do this. Importantly, Tyson did it in a sincere "trying to express myself better" fashion rather than a transparent "I just learned this word" way.


3. When I stopped watching him a while back, he seriously was trying to give financial advice. I know a great deal about this topic and suffice it to say his confidence-to-understanding ratio was truly comical. Catching up on his vids now, immediately post-election he was fake laughing at great length over Trump winning and said half-a-dozen times "bro, I don't care that he won, I've been on the phone with my bros just gloating over how much our stock portfolios are going up!" It was so cringe I had to tap out from second-hand embarrassment so I don't even understand the context. (I assume he still supports Trump but he had predicted a Kamala win or something?) Hawk Tuah girl understands as much about crypto as Zak does about personal investing.


4. The part that disappoints me and prompted this post is his mind-boggling stupidity toward the achievements of 'Birthday Party Clowns' . Personally I enjoy Drinker and Nerdrotric's scripted 10 minute summaries on shit like The Acolyte or Indiana Jones. But is the Drinker crowd grifting? Of course. Is their livestream content unwatchably boring? Yes... just like 99.999% of Twitch or YT livestreams.


But here's the part where, imo, Zak isn't really being hypocrtical but actually dumb. He's shouting "Woke is over! It's dead!" The essential point Ya Boy Zak misses is THE WOKE CROWD TOOK OVER BECAUSE THEY WERE RELENTLESS AND THE LOUDEST VOICE IN THE ROOM WITH ZERO ORGANIZED OPPOSITION. Yes, a shift is certainly happening post-Trump win. But all the companies are still infested with troons and lesbians and 90 IQ DEI hires, Zak. If the BPC went away tomorrow, guess what would happen to this "cultural shift"?? To all those people you say were "literally trying to push me to suicide" and who "never ever give up"? You think they have already gracefully bowed out and so the BPC serve no purpose?


So yes, the BPC have become cringe in their own way and I don't want to watch their livestreams. I also don't want to watch the Dept of Sanitation unclog the sewer lines. But my God they are serving a good purpose. Guess what every single game developer KNOWS will happen now if they hire Sweet Baby Inc.? What Disney KNOWS will happen when they race swap another white character? What Netflix KNOWS will happen when they hand over their latest $500mm IP to a black lesbian showrunner with no experience babbling how she's going to use the IP to tell her story? Zak's raison d'etre was to create change in the comics industry. He failed. The BPC as a group have SUCCEEDED in organizing the audience disgust that didn't work when it was spread out over millions of anons.

Zack thinks his farts are the only ones that do not smell. He has small understanding of things outside his wheelhouse and thus the entertainment fast food equivalent impresses him far more than a good restaurant menu item.

Mike Tyson is a wise man who has a lot of lived experience and has done a lot of things. Zack always goes back to military, reading comics and abandoning families.

Livestreams are boring by default. They are something to have on the background while playing videogames with the occasional highlight. This is not the fault of the BPCs. It is the nature of the beast.

Zack is envious. Others did more than he did in half the time and made thrice the money he did while soaking in more fame and interviews. Should have gone to Joe. I bet he feels an unspoken bond with Harris for this (though considering Harris loses support every time she is interview, she might have dodged a bullet, unlike Zack).
 
Zack was defeated by his own autism. If he had done more streams in 2016-2020 he would be huge right now. Have some self awareness. He should never talk about movies. He knows people don't like his taste in movies. He can't help himself. Only rarely streaming with Evan when he could have been doing the rounds. Now all he does is say stuff that antagonizes his audience. Pure insanity.

I have a theory. My theory is that Richard is one of these people who figures out what the most obnoxious thing he can say for a particular group is and then he says that. So, when he decided that himself not being hired by Marvel comics was a high crime, he started going after them on "diversity." When that worked well for him he kept it up. Now he's probably angry that the Critical Drinker and his friends who are fellow Youtubers are more successful than him, so he's trying to find the best provocation against them. He's trying everything from they are phonies, they are ugly, they are racist, they are fags etc. Once something lands, he'll harp on that basically forever as his way of going after other Youtubers.

He has no core beliefs, he's just an empty narcissist. He's just trying to get them to bite. His channel seems schizophrenic because he never really had a problem with slop pop culture, he was mad that he wasn't involved in creating it.
