Richard Meyer is about as deep as a puddle on the sidewalk and twice as easily disturbed but unable to see past his own ripples or reflect upon his own optics. The only good thing about his early success is that now we get to seem him fall, floor by floor, like Judge Dredd just gave him a hit of Slo-Mo before pushing him out the window.

The funny thing is, there is a alternative to the big two/capeshit comics, the indie scene is getting stronger each year, Dark Horse is getting some good sucess like the Canto series (that is going to get a animation) or image with their Ghost machine label.
The Goon animated movie that's been in development Hell for over a decade is also finally going to come out on Netflix. As to the culture war versus actual comic books stuff, I think if Jawbreakers had been really great, and had regular releases it might have become another indie brand. I don't think people back comic books not to read them when they get them. However, that means they have to get them in a timely manner and the next issue needs to come out in a timely manner. Otherwise people are just backing you out of goodwill or because they like your politics. Really money spend backing Jawbreakers books would likely be better spend on back issues (or collections) of some Dark Horse series.

1. AC Shadows is NOT "Surprisingly Good." (It's bombing hard.)
2. He only cares because the FNT/199 guys have covered it as part of the culture war, and thus he has to take the opposite approach.
3. Less than 3k views across 2 days is hilariously shit.

Drinkers review videos are pulling in 1-4 MILLION views. He's the most popular film critic alive right now, and it's not even close.

And credits where is due, as much as I loathe guys like Nerdrotic, Geeks and games and that Heels vs baby face retard, they know what they are about, they know what people want from them and they are fine giving it. Yeah, I could point out the whole "They are middle aged man getting upset at movies made for little girls" but clearly they have an audience of people who wants to hear middle aged man getting upset at disney princess movies, if there is money to be made, demands will be met.
I have to disagree a bit with that. The BPCs complain about many aspects of the Culture War, not just the Princesses. Zack makes it sound weird. Also, many of them have kids and it is a parent's duty to know whether or not their kids watches propaganda or something equally bad. Alerting the parents that a piece of media is trying to brainwash the kids is important. Not that Zack would understand considering he is not a part of his kid's life.

And glitchy, do not forget that.

He is full on contrarian. If the sky is clear and his enemies mention it, he will go about how he saw a tiny cloud for half a second before it disappeared.

He would have been doing better if he went back to his old shtick.

CG has only scams and attack backfires as its unifying forces at this point. It pays to be their enemies.

I feel like people are often so busy complaining about the CW that they put in no effort to change the Culture. Zack's retarded slop consuming isn't the answer, but I think having a look out for good shit is. I've wondered if the goon was any good, but held off in case it has a "btw this came out during the Iraq War and we sure do hate Bush and Republicans" type of story to it. It looks fun though.

Zack needs to be called out, by someone with a following so it really hurts him and makes him get offline.

Frankie (The Goon's number one stooge) has one of my favorite catchphrases of any comic book character:1743264202833.png

Yeah. There are a ton of reasons a guy might care about the Snow White remake. Most people can intuit those reasons and I bet Zack knows them as well and just plays dumb (yeah, I know) because he accidentally thinks his superficial reductive take is some great gotcha and it is why he beats that dead horse every time. Disney owns a million things and has power over all kinds of properties. It's not unreasonable for someone to want to do what they can to nudge Disney in a better direction. Plus, it has cultural and historical significance. It was the first full length Disney animated film and everyone saw it when it was first released. If you don't like seeing its legacy tarnished it doesn't mean you are a secret gay man who watches Sex in the City. It is a reflection of some segment of society or another's cultural values. If you find race swapping and their portrayals of men distasteful or the girl boss crap to be anachronistic and you think all of that crap is a bad message to send kids, there's nothing wrong with that.

Plus, even if it was as simple as just some men dunking on crappy entertainment for girls, who cares? I remember Spice World being the butt of jokes and guys would think entertainment targeted toward girls was boring and shallow and stupid all of the time. Next thing you know, women's influence in entertainment skyrocketed and wouldn't you know it, those guys were right to rip on that crap all along.

All right, you convinced me.

It's a fusion of jealousy and stupidity. Zack is pure dunning/Kruger, he couldn't know nothing about movies because he's so smart, he couldn't know nothing about video games because he played pong once in the 80s and he couldn't overestimate his knowledge of comics because he's read them his whole life.

Zack you see is the real geek and the BPCs are fake geek clowns.

Exactly, they are commentators and critics. They are supposed to talk about the current thing. Zack is being an asshole for no reason other than the fact that he is envious of the success of others (and perhaps because he is projecting his attraction to the latina lead onto others).

Notice how he doesn't refute what this user says.
He's probably giggling about that guy's Cerebus avatar and how EVS would have hired Dave Sim if not for Sim's groomer admissions.

I'm not giving much credence to what this Chris Bacon guy writes in this post here. But if he was really the big deal financial expert he says he is wouldn't Ethan who retweeted or some of these other detractors who stream with him hire him? I haven't seen that happen. Because he's on the late books side of the war he'd only be helping them maximize their scams. His problem was that Eric July hired his actual friends and though Chris lives nearby Eric he was only a parasocial follower of Eric's. He was a highest tier paypig in whatever memberships Eric had at the time. That was not going to be converted into a paying job ever because Eric only saw Chris as a source of money. So we get a vindictive simp trying to grasp at some kind of downward trend anywhere he can find it because he can't let go of his idea that he wanted to be Eric's numbers guy..

Hey nobody mentioned that Chuck Dixon is #1 at the box office this week with a "a Working Man".

1743363919141.png

15 million on the weekend, so it looks like a modest hit. Doesn't seem like audiences loved it, it got a B Cinemascore. You might think that's pretty good but it's actually bad, anything under an A is typically means the audience thought it was mediocre at best.

But still it's a nice success for Chuck and he's earned it for plugging away in the trenches for so long. Zach might actually have had a pipeline to Hollywood, at least as a ghost writer, if he hadn't decided to burn all his bridges and act like a tard.

Zack worked not just with Chuck but also with Sly Stallone. Both of which is why this movie happen.

How much budget did Chuck's movie have?
WP says $40m. So it could get to $100m total and make a few bucks, maybe. The sub-A Cinemascore isn't great for a writer but it looks like Statham's Beekeeper movie last year was also sub-A and was a hit, so maybe Chuck can point the finger at Statham in his next interview.

edit: Shit, don't know why AVBF's post didn't display.
