At a basic level, a huge amount of CG and even former CG are thieves. They received money for a product and fail to provide that product. Theft. Everything else is a distraction from their thievery.
EVS can't afford to fulfill his late campaigns even if he had the work done. The RtB metal briefcases, the "leatherbound" storybook, Alibaba racecars. Even if he could source those items, he charged 2022 shipping prices for that stuff. Add that to his imminent legal troubles re: his unpaid Poulter settlement. He's can gamble and go to baseball games OR fulfill his books. He's made his choice.

It won't be Gemshock because she has bulky 3D printed statues and 160 "Dale Keown signed" editions that she needs to print, ship both ways with Canadian shipping costs to the alcoholic burnout for signatures, then wait for him to ship back, then send out.
