EVS could never

That's why he hates him so much. Eric came in, ate his breakfast lunch and dinner, fucked his wife, sired 4 kids, put them though university and made them scholars. All @FROG can do is make a faggy parody character, spread conspiracy theories and wank over EJ's profile picture.

The difference in delivery is so fucking stark is funny. Washed up urinal licking faggot
https://youtube.com/watch?v=N96wS2xVUj8In shameless fat faggot news, Evan claims his new cyberfrog comic book will be published by Image. He's doing this alleged new comic instead of finishing what his victims already paid for.
MAGA cover in 2026, for his "what if DC or Image published this?". He just can't drop the grift.

At this point, we all know Rippaverse isn’t ‘high art’ - but then neither is 98% of what was shat out of the Comicsgate movement. Ethan is principally enraged that he was out-grifted; this whole ‘quality’ bullshit is just a facade.
I remember his cope about blood and honey was that it was all for quality, then he used assets for backgrounds (which he previously cried about), and didn't he also have a cameo of himself get killed by a pig or some shit?

I am curious as to what people consider good quality in comics on here. I mean it's a well-known fact that quality is a matter of taste, but still doesn't make me any less curious as to what people find good quality on here......Me, I can't stand Hellboy or Spawn, and I honestly don't see how anybody can. I think the Hulk is more Amusing then Spider-Man, and I will die on that Hill if anyone tries to argue with me about that. 😎 I know people on here enjoy Kamen America, but I don't find that interesting either. What I do find funny is people that claim to enjoy them so much I don't see them talk about it on here that much, and when I see here I mean Kiwi Farms in general. I know people like to get it through their heads that people have to talk about something all the time in order to prove their interested in it, but I can use that same logic to the people on here on the things they like too. Just saying......So anyway what do you all consider good quality? I'm all ears.....

Someone's in a manic state and hoping that the backers for the new site he got a capo to make simply to avoid the possibility of Indiegogo gassing him will magically levy him money. Problem is this stupid fuck doesn't have the liquidity to actually release this shit besides maybe as a webcomic, nor does he have the base anymore for this garbage. Oi @FROG , remember when I excoriated the stupid cunts behind Red Rooster?

I know your audience of a village in Greenland are retarded cattle you could rape and murder publicly and they'd still give a cool hunj a stream per reeeing at some dude who liked the flash, but that's not gonna get you anything.
All of CG would have been better off making webcomics.

Huh? What the fuck does that mean? Was that some high water mark for writing (snigger) comics?
It means that like the Image of old, his stuff will come out late and unorganized.

Are you going to keep shitting up the thread with this question?
Only until people give me an answer to it. I mean this is a thread about comics after all, so you may as well just tell me. 🤷
Comics that speak to me in every level and are great to look at in a way that blends the drawing and storytelling.
Nice, like what?

I mostly read manga. My favorite is Bleach. I like how the themes and the narrative blend with the world building, art and characters. Everything is used to inform each other.
I'm something of a titty man myself.

Something tells me you are just baiting, but fine, for what it is worth, I consider the G1 Transformers US and UK runs, particularly from the final arc of the US comic (1991; between ‘Matrix Quest’ and ‘The Last Autobot’) to be the best comics I have read; both in terms of story and artistic merit. The highlight was Unicron’s attack on Cybertron with scores of transformers killed.

Geoff Senior’s angular art style gave Unicron and his sheer scale during the battle really breathtaking panels. The writing from Simon Furman managed to tie so many loose strands of the US comic run up to that point together in really clever ways. Some of the best panels had no violence or action at all; Optimus Prime mourning Scorponok’s heroic actions and death were - believe it or not - emotional, and the huge fight showed some Transformers as heroic and some as cowards, and not necessarily on the sides you would expect.

Of all the stories though, a little known series in the Transformers UK run called ‘Perchance to Dream’ (1990-1991) has stayed with me for over 30 years. Galvatron taps into the memory banks of six deactivated autobots - long out of the comics since the 80s. His search reveals a mixture of very un-Autobot traits - narcissim, recklessness, cowardice, animosity towards humans - traits he aims to exploit by re-animating them and attempting to manipulate them into doing his bidding.

That series was drawn by Andy Wildman; probably the second best Transformers G1 artist after Geoff Senior. There was virtually no violence here, but the themes of ‘good guys being a bit evil’ was never really done in Transformers.

‘High art’ is not the term I would use. More like ‘excellent, well-written comics’.

Incidentally, this all started because I said ‘we accept Rippaverse isn’t high art’. This wasn't a criticism of Rippa; it was addressing EVS’ furtive insistence that the comics are crap. I think they are average-to-OK, but that isn’t the point. The point is Rippa created and delivered, and succeeded. In the context of outdoing Ethan, that was more than enough and no ‘high art’ was needed.

Ahhhh, I see. I never got into manga. I tried but it just wasn't my thing.
As far as Western comics go, I think the Luther Strode series scratched quite an itch for me.

I'm something of a titty man myself.

Bleach has great designs.

What is and isn't high art has changed over the years. Back in the day, painters were taught to have invisible strokes yet now some of the best regarded painters are known for having clearly visible ones. Is the Rippaverse high art? Even if it is, who are we to say.

@Incecticyder I am under the philosophy and belief that the market decides what is or isn't high art. But yes I agree the opinions have changed over the decades. Oh and @Idiot Doom Spiral no I wasn't baiting anyone, I was being totally serious. I'm not a transformers guy myself, but I can agree people enjoy it, and more importantly I can "accept" that people do. Me I'm more of a Hulk fan, and that was before the Rippaverse was even an idea.

Well, the market doesn't always get it right. Vangogh died poor but now everyone knows him as a genius. Why didn't the market toss money at him on time so that he lives in the luxury his work earned? What about Salieri? He was a celebrity during his time and yet he has been largely forgotten after death. Trends come and go. Styles come and go. An artist might be unappreciated while alive or be forgotten after death. The market's opinion changes. Is the Rippaverse a great universe? Who knows? Is it unappreciated now and will be appreciated later? Who knows? Opinions fluctuate. Some might like it now but change their mind later.

Speaking of comics.....what kind of comics do you find high quality, if I may ask?
The best recent comic that I can think of was TMNT: The Last Ronin. From the first issue, I could see what was going to happen as far as "the ride", and I didn't care. I was looking forward to every page. When I tell people about it, explaining that it is the final battle between The Shredders' clan and the last surviving turtle, they ask which turtle and I won't tell them because learning that is part of the experience of the story. It's "Logan". It's "Unforgiven". The prequel and sequel series didn't match the impact of the story, and there was no way that they could have.

They said the same thing about Image. I know people here don't like it when I use it as an example, but that's LITERALLY the CORRECT example of what's happening now. Years ago, everybody "KNEW" Image wouldn't last long, when Todd McFarlane created Spawn for the first time, everybody "KNEW" that will be a flash in the pan and that it would have no future, and not soon after everybody "KNEW" Todd McFarlane was not talented as a writer, only for a decade or two later to not only still be around but more popular than it was before as well as people literally kissing up to him like they never did before. That's what I see whenever I look at Rippaverse..... another future Image only difference is, Todd McFarlane didn't make it this time, and Rippaverse is getting extremely popular for a brand that's only been out for 4 years so far. As long as they keep making the choices they're making and make things people want to buy and enjoy, they're going to be around for a very long time. The market is always right, especially over a hobby like this. All I see is history repeating itself.... that's it, nothing more.

Here is the thing about Image: As they were, they wouldn't last. Their flaws were lightyears wide. If Image had to rely on those men alone long term, it would have gone down just as predicted. Some of the founders were paid to return to the Big 2, others release niche product, few have chronic lateness and the company as a whole run on edgy, even juvenile, premises that people outgrew.

The best things about the Rippaverse are the professionalism and the writers Eric brings. Not everyone is a 10 but they know what a deadline is. Image survived on the backs of the people who are good writers and can finish on time as opposed to artists that can draw well but can't write. If anything, CG is closer to Image than the Rippaverse is. Difference is that the Image deal managed to attract good professionals to the company while CG alienated everyone worth a damn. Like, Narwal is mainstream now.

Image work partially out of luck. Their deal was very attractive. Getting to keep your IP is very nice when you write good stuff.
