Jesus Christ. The wheels really look like they're coming off the #ComicsGate train, don't they? Exactly how many people has Pope Van Sciver I excommunicated from the movement he's totally not in charge of by now?

The odd part here being that Boyette -- AFAIK -- has zero financial interest in the success of anything anyone is doing. He's purely a hobbyist, doing what he does for the love of the hobby of comic book collecting. And he's being accused of financial shenanigans? Granted he has the single most boring livestreams I think I've ever seen, but that doesn't mean he's not sincere.

Egos and everybody not agreeing to a set of standards (and keep it!) will do this.
Everybody defines "X" and disagrees on what the definition of "X" is.
If they had hammered out what ComicsGate was and wasn't then agreed on it, I'm sure a lot of this would have been mitigated.

When the fuck was that? I mean unless you're talking about prehistoric days of just dunking on America... EVS' side of thing was always about ego and circlejerking. Starting with the intro "25 veteran of the industry!"... in an industry when your average priffesional retirement happens after you worked for 30 and up years. I'm serious, Grant Morrison had his 30 year in an industry recently and he's still working. JRJR spend 30 years at Marvel alone. The list veterans whose time in the industry clocks higher than 30 years is bottomless but I guess Tico collectors don't have to know that .

He wasn't exactly kicked out, actually if that's what you're talking about. His contract expired and they part ways. So many people act like he was kicked out even though Ethan himself doesn't say that... He just implies it like a coward.

I thought he owed them one more book (probably multiple issues of said book) or something similar, but asked to be released from his contract, and DC agreed? Pretty sure that's EVS's story, at any rate.

You know how like 75% of all Marvel characters were created by the same 3 guys? Wonder why that was? Could it be they spent most of their time at their desks bringing those characters to life instead of slapfighting with each other over who was more true to comics than the next? Not that I think Twitter/FB would've slowed the likes of Jack Kirby or Stan Lee down, but, the fact they had to actually put pen and pencil to paper instead of stream doodles certainly motivated them, I'd wager.
