Given the number of times she included the word "anime" in that totally-not-an-angry-tantrum I suspect there may be more bitterness than we think at play here in this post birds of prey flop episode she is having.

I mean one thing that is apparent from a cursory read of what her whole comic schtick is, is that she only seems comfortable with "kooky girly slice of life" stories with joss whedon style superheros..... which also happens to be the kind of comic that winds up haemorrhaging sales and going belly up within a year and having to be relaunched repeatedly in order to move any units at all, and which is one of the main cancers killing the comic industry given how its the default model that talentless tumblr hires adopt for their work.

However while this shit is doomed to inevitable failure in the west unless its a free webcomic or a fully fledged cartoon with major funding, in anime and manga land the whole "light hearted slice of life spliced with supernatural" thing is the belle of the ball, and enjoys enormous success and popularity not only in japan but in the west as well, including among those who loudly talk shit about how much western comics suck these days....which is doubly infuriating for people like her because the whole "literally the entire industry is owned and operated by non white people" thing and the "extremely strong female/lgbt representation" factor make the comforting lie of "the reason our comics are not selling is because of evil dudebro nazis who hate darkies and queers and wammen" extremely difficult to spin, even for these specimens

Thus I suspect the grand high wine aunt of comics is lashing out not only at the general "comics are shit lol" crowd, but also at the single biggest contradiction to their only line of defence these days
