thats pretty much on par with Zack’s writing style. I doubt that Chuck had much input in the book with how OCD Zack is.
I didn't get this but felt similar with Impossible Stars. I have a large portion of everything Chuck has written and it just felt like "This is not a Chuck Dixon book."

His plots are generally very tidy and straightforward, which of course I try to keep mine that way too. Impossible Stars was just disorganized and jumbled.

I didn’t read Impossible Stars but your experience mirrors mine when I read Iron Sights 1 and 2. It’s like he had so many subplots but didnt have the writing chops to tie them all together.

Checking up on the thread.

Just out of curiosity, what was the elapsed time between campaign end to fulfillment on The Expendables?

I keep forgetting it was a thing, it's been so long.

Having gotten through Go To Hell today, I just kept being reminded of Iron Sights the whole time.

There's no way Dixon was the head writer for this. I'd be hard press to believe Dixon had anything to do with this other than the middleman between Stallone and YBZ.

Edit: How much money did anyone come away from this with? There were so many people involved plus the apparent horrorshow that was fulfillment

Looks like he completely closed it down on March 3rd of 2020, with an estimated ship date from July-Aug 2021
Though it looks like it was originally projected in May 2020, I can only assume that was a placeholder timeframe.

I never got this one, so I tuned out any time Yaboi went on a rant about it in his videos.

It's been a minute. I had to pull myself out of the Comicsgate hole for a bit because phew-boy it was getting suffocating in there.

What's been going on? What very important victories or defeats have I missed?

2021 opened with massive amounts of low-level Comicsgaters (with 50+ simultaneous campaigns all through March to May) launching campaigns without much thought as to how to sell them, leading to a complete saturation of the market amid all-time low backer confidence due to late campaigns from leading figures Meyer, Cecil, RGE, Fraga, etc with no end in sight.

Ever since the great Thot Wars of 2020 came to an end, Comicsgate has been slowing down since the frenetic activity of last year when COVID hit and everyone was locked in their homes with nothing to do but mail order comics during to an industry-wide shutdown. There a number of possible factors for the slowdown, like comic shops reopening, less discretionary income from covid bucks, backer disillusionment from dozens of unfulfilled books over the years as well as reality falling short of the utopian promises made in the beginning, fatigue from hearing boilerplate anti-SJW bromides from prospective creators, and is probably some combination of the above.

All that said, there have been creators who have grown in this time thanks to active campaigning and/or regular, timely fulfillment of what was was promised, with unexpected winners like Shane Davis, Graham Nolan, Mark Poulton and Mandy Summers. Along with those there have also been those who were prominent names of yesteryear that are rapidly dropping off like Mitch Breitweiser, Antonio Brice, Gat Hanzo and Richard C Meyer.

Smiller
and Doug TenNapel by contrast have left traditional comics altogether (at least for now) for a very brief career filling in the demand for banned QAnon youtubers before being cracked down on by YouTube jannies themselves (Doug being permabanned) and are currently making bank cranking out NFTs while the trend is hot.

Preston Poulter's online persona as a "Comicsgate exposer" collapsed some time mid-last year, shortly after his public exposure as an actor and producer of various pegging & cuckold porn videos, and he now spends most of his time litigating or discussing litigation against DA Talks, VikkiVerse and Frog for describing an teenage erotic thriller comic he was producing as "child pornography".

Frog's had a mixed number of wins and losses lately, the biggest I'd argue would be the successful crowdfunding to develop a Cyberfrog toy line to the tune of $400K in September. On the L column would be the severance relations with the pop culture complainer crew formerly called Fandom Menace like Nerdrotic, HeelsVsBabyface, Midnight's Edge etc. and their lucrative paypig faucet after Az demanded Frog kowtow to him after speaking his mind on the "zeroes" hanging off of Nerdrotic's platform while under the influence of THC-laced candy. Frog retaliated by speaking more of his mind about how people that complain about pop culture while not promoting an alternative are ultimately just empty youtubers in it for the grift, effectively burning that bridge forever.

All this puts TSWG Anna in a difficult position, walking a tightrope between maintaining her connections with her fellow pop culture complainers in the Fandom Menace while being tightly connected to her JACK show buddies and other Comicsgaters who now officially disdain empty pop culture reactors (other than the inclusion of Anna's name, Herogeek's twitter screed was indistinguishable from mainline Comicsgate's opinion on post-Snyder TFM). As always, Anna goes about this delicate work by sperging incoherently at the slightest provocation. Right now Anna is showing she can create her own alternative to the Disney woke capeshit mainstream by launching a crowdfund for a calendar of herself in cosplay.

The biggest development lately has been with conservative creators who in the past declined to step into the Comicsgate morass and preferred to associate in Mike and Doug's circles, like Aaron Lopresti and Gabe Eltaeb, turning towards Frog and a nowadays less circus-like Comicsgate as the only conservative counter-culture left in town. DC Comics put a lot of stock in their "Superman is gay" announcement getting media headlines only for Eltaeb, the colorist for their gay storyline to publicly denounce the decision and declare himself Comicsgate and talk mad shit on Frog's show, effectively piggybacking on DC's media cycle and CG gaining some mainstream interest for the first time in a long time.

Will this actually translate into renewed interest? We'll have to wait and see.

Why do people keep subjecting themselves to Zack's sub-par offerings?

I wouldn't buy his stuff if it was $3.00 and readily available from Walmart, let alone spending $25+. 💩

liam gray just had his newest brain tear over my new comic book Creepsters... yet again!

After screeching about me for streaming with Lord Finatra (here is the efap) liam is now back to claim that my comic is a rip off. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact that liam's comic, "Boy Island" is a rip off.

While supposedly having a new child, a wife, a family, and making your own comic books would probably keep you busy, liam gray spent countless hours desperate to try and find a way to attack my campaign.

There's a listing on "Alibaba", which is a website i guess where people buy products made in China, that stole the design John Dillard did for me of my character Chomper. John Dillard did this design back in June. The seller on Alibaba has been around for 4 years, so liam is trying to claim this design was from 4 years ago.

At least there are a few people with critical thinking skills and don't blindly believe everything liam gray says.

Then, faced with proof, liam gray decides to like the tweets but not respond.

TL;DR big brain liam fails yet again!

Why do people keep subjecting themselves to Zack's sub-par offerings?

I bought it cause I like The Expendables and was under the impression Chuck Dixon was the lead on this.

I also didn't hate Iron Sights, but Iron Sights was also marketed as being a pulpy rag you find on a shithouse floor so I guess I expected more from Expendables especially after a year and a half of Richard "making sure it was perfect". (I also bought Iron Sights second hand for cheap now that I'm thinking about it)

I should say I don't really hate the book, but I'd never recommend one copy to anyone let alone buying every variant cover or anything like that.

Edit: What's the deal with the hardcover? I originally bought that, but then I remember him refunding everyone because it wouldn't be possible to do but now I see that they did in fact make hardcovers?

Liam's been in touch with Anna Wang the ower of that listing who says the Toy was designed for someone called Roy in 2017

Who is Roy? Is Anna Wang really Liam's other wife? And do both of them work for the CROWN!?

This whole thing sounds like a clusterfuck.

Lol since I already gave a time stamped email, you owe us an apology, liam!

liam is talking to someone in China who is more than likely using Google translate to communicate. They called Roy a new client then mention 2017. They said they had to create the listing to do the order, but then said Roy didn't do the order.

liam is using a language barrier to try and make this seem like a rip off😂

I call bullshit on the Anna Wang emails. It's been repeatedly pointed out to Liam that the four years is not the age of the listing but refers to the age of the Company, then he suddenly gets an email comfirming the toy was created four years ago. Erm, dodgy as fuck.

I've been dealing with Alibaba sellers a lot lately and the fucken scary thing about Liam's convo with Anna Wang is he seems to have even scared her off with his lack of communication skills.

His autism is so evident that even a Chinese company rep didn't even push him to buy one of their products but rather just closed the convo off.

Also Roy isn't even a real fucken name a normal person has. Obviously she was just trying to brush off the convo to get him to fuck off .

Waiting for the sperg out from him once your book doubles in sales by end of the week due to him forcing Ethan's hand to promote your book out of spite towards his failed attack.

Yep, he Liam'd up another nothingburger and had it boomerang. Again.
