Comfortably making $250K per year in mainstream comics, even at the end.

I wasn’t butting heads with anyone. I wasn’t missing deadlines. especially not on Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps. I was a new dad and taking every bit of work I could get, trying to be a workhorse.

Both of those narratives are lies to make it seem like I was at fault, because SJWs prize victimhood and don’t want me to claim mine.

The reality is that I was a loudmouth conservative on social media, reposting Breitbart articles and making fun of Liberals. It really bothered people. When I voted for Trump, leftists came after me. I made sport of them, thinking I was invincible. When I began associating with Diversity & Comics, I began receiving concern trolling threats from big name writers.

People don’t get cancelled for being dicks or late on projects. That’s not reality.
When I said "butting heads" I mean you falling out with the leftists over Trump. You and your bestie, Gail Simone, turned into bitter rivals.
And no, it is not cancelling, it is SJWs making your life and the life of your collaborators a bit harder over concern trolling and spreading rumours. At some point people get less willing to work with you and companies are losing more money than making money from your work, so they stop bothering. This is what twitter psychos try to accomplice with every cancelling victim.

Which kind of my beef with CG/Faggot Meanies: you guys are talking politics yet you are clueless about politics.
But then again, if it sells, it sells.

I can basically summarize everything you said here in one sentence:

YouTube was a mistake.

At least insofar as CG is concerned. I am convinced 90% of their problems would magically go away if they shut their fucking cameras off and got some work done.
Well... no.
These guys acted as great capitalists, 10X the value of their product through youtubing/parasocial relationships and keep delivering value to their clients as a cadre of livestreamers of various shows.
Push comes to shove (Hey, Mike) they can always turn off the cameras and do comics.
The way the comicbook industry is heading, once apathy takes over CG will be done for good and SJWs will move to greener pastures. Give this a couple more years and the culture would shift out of the outrage culture war to something different.
Then EVS can do 30 variant covers for Dynamite, 48 pages of Cyberfrog and some art auctions per year and live comfortably.
Malin etc could do triple that amount of work for similar money.
YBZ can have Chuck Dixon and whatever Philipino Liefeld clone he can find churn out Jawbreaker floppies while he returns to IT.

This is because they:
a) have actual skills that they can use to produce something.
b) have a following of people with dispossable income

Most SJWs or FM people do not.

So no, them closing the cameras will do them more harm than good, but still they have to make haste so they can get more campaigns out while they still matter.

Some fresh content from the infamous fallen comicgater Ro Kabir of the Warcampaign. He's gone full IP2, strapping a gopro to his head and streaming from the Ottawa trucker convoy protest. As of this post the second stream is at 4,500+ views, that is big numbers for them. Anyone who also follows the IP2 or protest threads know IRL streams bring something fat nerds at a desk can't. You might see a fist fight, an arrest, crazy motherfuckers on the street, you never know. He is claiming to come back tonight, Tuesday night for more IRL streaming in downtown Ottawa. For our own entertainment I hope all the worst and most exceptional of CG go this way of public embarrasment because YouTuber fights ain't nothin' like the real thing baby.

Both of these streams are from last night, the first is a short one then a long second one. These guys are known to erase all their videos or get struck often so download/archive it if you are interested.
edit: Bonus: here is the other streamer UOttawaScotty footage of Ro when they filmed each other 1:22:33

Yes, I too find Perch's le enlightened centrist vaguebooking on social media whenever he's brought up here funny. Jon Malin's attempts to impress the malt liquor guy are also must-watch viewing, agreed agreed.

Anyways,

Comicsgate Financial Review - January 2022

View attachment 2941236

Between the launching of Jon Malin's Graveyard Shift 4, Graham Nolan's Giant Sized Two Fisted Manly Tales and the improbable success of Mike Baron's Thin Blue Line (having a second appearance on Fox and Friends to promote the comic just yesterday) Comicsgate had a far stronger start in January 2022 than it did in January 2021, raising $411,569 in total, $383,809.00 of which did not include Frog or Richard C Meyer. I don't think there's an especially complicated explanation for this surge; a bunch of larger creators were freed up (thanks to actually fulfilling their campaigns) to create new projects after the holiday season.

I'm curious what percentage of Mike Baron's 'found it on Fox News' backers are going to do two seconds of research and find themselves a home in CG? Guessing that will be slim to none. Like Smiller getting promotion from Ben Shapiro. Most people don't have time to waste listening into endless hours of fat old men getting drunk, drooling over young women, sniffing their butt plugs, and complaining about other YouTubers.

Yeah but Mike Baron went on Fox and Friends to promote his comic, not Frog's show. I'm not sure what your point is here. Thin Blue Line going from being legitimately blacklisted from all mainstream platforms and in danger of failing to reach a $8000 funding goal to standing at $117000 at present is, in my opinion, one of Comicsgate's greatest success stories in its purported mission to fight cancel culture.

Wait, Nerdette vs Forced Adversity civil war?

Yes. For those of you not interested in hearing Nerdette recount the source of conflict between the two Anti-Anti-SJW youtubers (everyone), what set the two of them apart was Forced Adversity ran a hit piece against Andy Signore of Screen Junkies/Honest Trailers who was #MeToo'd back when that was a thing. Nerdette, who had received support from Signore in the past over a channel strike, went out to support him against FA's accusations of him being a sex predator. Somewhat predictably. Dane replied by calling his former anti-Comiscgate ally a grifting race-baiting piece of shit churning out tabloid chum targeted for the lowest common denominator.

x.png

Evidently things have not ended there, as Forced Adversity is promoting an upcoming PSA about the Mexican Comicsgater Imega going to hop the border (that Forced Adversity no doubt opposed) to rape his family and has made sure to drag Nerdette's name into it for good measure. For those of you who don't know who the fuck Imega is, that is understandable; to most people who follow Comicsgate, Imega is one of the nameless masses who engages in twitter and sometimes gay innuendo with fellow trolls like Ibai Canales. For leftist anti-CG Comics Twitter however, Imega is as Forced Adversity stated "one of the most prominent figures in Comicsgate", due to his (and a few other CG holdouts on Twitter like LeR.O.Y and DidymusSeth's) dogged, mildly psychopathic years long block-evading campaigns on twitter against among increasingly obsolete anti-CG figures like Ryan Carey, Chloe Handler, the IFLC crew and Forced Adversity. In their eyes, Imega ranks in prominence somewhere below Frog but above Cecil or any of the CG Kings.

Anyways, Nerdette apparently had Imega as a channel janny, which was more enough for FA to smear her as a child predator associate. It should be noted that the main piece of evidence that Imega is such a thing is that Forced Adversity and others really don't like him. Nerdette pointed out that she actually unmodded the mexican janny weeks ago sight unseen at Dane's request, but apparently "that wasn't good enough" and now she's going to be smeared as an associate of pedophiles by FA anyway. Despite all this, Nerdette says that she still watches Dane's content and describing his content, when it's not directed at her, "tailor made to her liking".

It's a great success story, I'm glad Mr. Baron is having success due to him after so many flops and low-tier crowdfunders since very nearly the inception of Comicsgate. This proves a point that Comicsgate never made him the kind of money a couple of spots on Fox News did. So to credit CG with this success is pretty disingenuous if you're trying to do as much.

The question of 'will this help anyone else in CG' is a separate topic. Driving sales to a particular book because of Fox and Friends won't help anyone or anything other than the particular book being promoted. Sales of Nexus and Badger back issues won't skyrocket because Baron was on a morning talk show talking about cops, and neither will anyone in the CG pantheon of grifters gain any notoriety through a tacit and tangential association with Mr. Baron.

Yet all those flops and low-tier crowdfunders you mentioned did not get Mike Baron a spot on Fox and Friends. What made this project different? Maybe it because was already an proven concept thanks to the push it received before it was brought to Fox's attention. Perhaps the success gave Baron a confidence boost. I don't know. Either way, regardless of "credit", guys like Aaron Lopresti or Mike Baron increasing their business by an order of magnitude after joining Comicsgate is going to be noticed by creators faced with the alternative of going it alone or licking social justice boot and, in that sense, I consider it a success for Comicsgate.

Mike Baron deserves all of this success. Both of his appearances on Fox and Friends have been sharp as a tack, and I'm betting he'll be invited back many more times for comic book culture war stories.

The best part of ComicsGate Kings is seeing guys who were almost forcibly retired and aged out, if not canceled, finding success again. Nolan, Lopresti, Smith and Baron haven't lost a step, and I'm really glad to be associated with them. We're all stronger when working together.

Thanks for posting this comment, Dongs. Very kind and inspiring.

That reminds me that the Expendables project happened because of Chuck Dixon being friends with Sylvester Stallone. Even though Chuck has stated that he is Not Comicsgate. But he gave that opportunity to Zack, and Zack... took it from there.

But let's focus on the future! What's next in CG's grand and glorious future?
Who will be the next very super-famous person to embrace the lovable Ralph Wiggum of popular entertainment, Comics Gate?

I noticed Gabe Eltaeb is a bit of a JCVD fan, using a frame from this famous JCVD GIF as his greenscreen background:

jcvd1.gif

I wonder, do any of the kingly kings of CG, (or even the evildoer knaves of Not-CG, like Chuck Dixon) possess a super-famous connection to this legendary badass? Because if so, King Eltaeb should jump at that opportunity!

Maybe JCVD will be brave enough to give CG the warm, loving, lingering embrace that was so cruelly denied to us by the perhaps overly super-famous Stallone.

The “issue” with this particular campaign, though, is it’s about as anti-CG as they come.

No, of course not in the woke sense, in the sense that many, many aspects of this campaign are entirely antithetical to the CG norm. If a bunch of new campaigns try to follow this campaign specifically, it is going to be a genuinely great time for crowdfunded comics in general.

I mean, a CG campaign that hits the “impossible” trifecta of also being on KS, having a digital copy, and launching with the book in a nearly complete state? Get a shit-ton more of those flying around any day.

The difference is that this one was specifically about a topic the Fox News audience is sympathetic with. Cops are being recognized as heroes.

Do you think that Highlander comic book, Q-ball (8-ball? I forget) or Florida Man were going to get the attention of Fox News? Good luck. Nor are any of CG's other offerings going to follow the thin Blue Line suit. I hope at least some of Mr. Baron's new customers will like this project enough to back whatever his next project is, but if it's not about cops, the military, or fighting communists in some way, chances are slim to none they'll be featured on Fox and Friends.

It is a success. Most of that success is purely at the feet of Fox.

Lopresti and the others mentioned success is mostly at the feet of CG. I'm not NOT giving credit where credit is due, I'm just being realistic about it.

This has been interesting, but with yet another player in this community here on the thread it could soon be time to upgrade to "Plagued". ...are we there yet?

Anyhow while you were all debating if the Peggaverse will crossover or be gatekept from the Rippaverse and also several pages of Malt Liquor posts... here's a few things that were overlooked:

Fox Nation host Lara Logan appeared with "SupremeHeretic" Drew Taylor.

She made the headlines late November comparing Fauci to Mengele as documented here:

In other news a book that started fulfilment months ago has experienced some setbacks. Earlier this month only 50% of Graded Point Five 's Peregrine: Wings of The Falcon orders had been mailed out. This book is a relic of a bygone era of CG... 2020 when first time creators could make $53K. In the austere days of 2022 a book very similar to this might only make less than $4K and cause the creator to quit the internet forever!

Another delaying factor has been health issues and death in Chief Justice Optimus / Optimus Deadpool / Optipops family. He has revealed his full name to promote a gofundme for his family and he's asked to share it around.

Baron and Lopresti carrying EVSCG is as good a commentary on the last five years as anything else. It turns out the people who were actually something in the 90s are professionals who meet deadlines and deliver. Who knew?

It was Good Youtube™. Flash is about the Good YouTube™.

@jspit2.0

Baron and Lopresti carrying EVSCG is as good a commentary on the last five years as anything else. It turns out the people who were actually something in the 90s are professionals who meet deadlines and deliver. Who knew?
A week or two ago, Lopresti did a livestream with the great Kelley Jones. They talked about his career, took an in-depth look at certain pieces of his art, talked about his friendship and working relationship with Bernie Wrightson and took questions/comments from the chat (most of which weren't even superchats). It was engaging and loose and they obviously loved talking about the subject of comic art. That stream had about 87 viewers.

I was far more interested in that stream than anything the EVS/JACK Show crew has shit out in years. There was no Cecil acting like a drunken, sex starved mongoloid simp, no Anna shitting up the conversation with retarded opinions about nothing, nobody talking about fucking malt liquor. It was just two extremely talented pros talking comics and comic art. Sure, Aaron doesn't have a drive time zoo crew radio host personality and his humor is kind of boomer tier, but he knows comic art and he can keep a conversation going on the subject. It was, to quote The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, an island of reality in an ocean of diarrhea.

Speaking of, I notice the a certain bearded testicle is still going. Good for him.
I quite enjoyed Tom's video editorials and mini-docs on Midnight's Edge before they went all in on livestreams. I'd love to see ole' wheezy Tom get back to scripting and narrating videos. I also was quite pleased to see him seemingly evade a blue-on-blue #MeToo attempt on his life last year as well. That said, the man is profoundly unappealing as an unscripted broadcast personality / commentator. Ironically, while I can't say I followed Mecharandom with any closeness before she self-immolated into an adipose Eternal Flame last year, I also can't say I disagreed with a single one of her takes (no matter how ill advised the final ones may have been). The point is, these are people that in my opinion should not be subjecting themselves (and their unappealing personalities) to the public gaze. They're probably missing their calling. Or, as @Captain Manning put it:
YouTube was a mistake.
...at least as it concerns personality-driven, superchat-funded livestreams.

The best part of ComicsGate Kings is seeing guys who were almost forcibly retired and aged out, if not canceled, finding success again. Nolan, Lopresti, Smith and Baron haven't lost a step, and I'm really glad to be associated with them. We're all stronger when working together.

Comicsgate in 2021 appealing to more competent, more capable creators now that its self-imposed purity tests have been relaxed I think is a big step in the right direction. As I see it, quality creators leads to more actual customers wandering over which brings in more quality creators. The reverse also being true. If Comicsgate has any future in effecting culture or even offering an alternative to mainstream comics, it's in this.

Anyways,

So Many Of Us Issues An Update Regarding Warren Ellis

In June 2020, the website SoManyOfUs.com collected and collated dozens of accusations of grooming young women by the comic book writer Warren Ellis over the past two decades. Further coverage saw them record, even more, over a hundred. In the wake of this news, and despite the site stating they did not want Warren to be "cancelled" but to learn, a number of projects (but not all) dropped Ellis as a contributor, or he pulled out. Most recently, after the return of the comic book Fell was announced by co-creator Ben Templesmith, Image Comics stated that they would not publish Warren Ellis' work again until he had made accepted amends. These events also partially led to the creation of the Comic Book Workers United union at Image Comics. Warren also issued a statement last June accepting the website's offer to work on a method of transformative justice. Yesterday, the website So Many Of Us issued an update as to the progress this was taking.
  1. Today, SMOU's active membership is significantly smaller than the original group of 60+ people who drove the publication of somanyofus.com. We celebrate those who have found peace in disengagement and consider it a win that many have moved forward in their healing. The group working on transformative justice with Warren Ellis will be referred to as SMOU-TJ. All members, past and present, are invited to engage in planning, support, and decision-making at their preferred level of participation.
  2. We continue making progress in a guided transformative justice process: First, we found an extraordinary facilitator who has helped us to understand our options and clarify our goals. Second, we undertook internal processes to define and practice accountability, flexibility, and democracy within our group. Third, in a facilitator-led survey, SMOU-TJ identified fidelity ("the decision is in line with our values") and unity ("the process of decision-making does not tear us apart, but brings us together") as our two priority factors for decision-making. Our forward motion may be slow, but it is intentional.
  3. SMOU-TJ entered into a mediated conversation with Warren Ellis in August 2021. It has taken a great deal of effort and foundational work in order for us to begin communicating effectively with Ellis. We acknowledge this slow, challenging process and also acknowledge that it is simply too early to report where it is heading or where it may end up. We would like to emphasize that Warren Ellis has the option of working on healing and recovery independently, and this work is necessary whether or not he continues to work with us.
  4. Here is the clarity we can offer: our goal is to transform harm, not "cancel" Warren Ellis (or anyone else). We cannot and will not sign off on his moral progress. We decline to be the authority on who is allowed to work in what context. We reaffirm our support for the right of creators to be paid for their work, as well as the right of publishers, creatives, and others to determine who they work with.

As well as underlining that their aim is not to cancel Warren Ellis, they have also asked that people not harass Warren Ellis, his friends, and collaborators, or those who contributed to So Many Of Us. And they "ask and encourage those close to Warren Ellis, as well as those willing to support him in his efforts towards accountability, to reach out directly to our facilitator at smou-we-facilitator@protonmail.com" as well as encouraging similar efforts elsewhere and building structures for accountability built by the industry itself rather than outside groups.

Warren Ellis' castoffs released an update on their committee on giving Warren Ellis struggle sessions for his past indiscretions. Some of the internet women he banged 10-15 years ago have found closure, while the deranged remainers have gone on to develop a formalized, democratically guided "transformative justice process" framework along with several new terms like "irony shield" and "fidelity-based values" in order to properly convey to Warren through designated mediators on what a piece of shit the Transmetropolitan author is, presumably until Ellis dies. The final bullet point states that the committee's position is to neither "cancel" Warren or decree him as cured of his previous behavior, which neatly eliminates any possibility of uncancelling the fedora-sporting futurist or forgiving the one-time "Love Swami" of a harem of "Internet Wives". Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Forced Adversity update:

After declaring friendship ended with former ally Nerdette, the first to react was Nerdette's loud black friend Saggy Melonz. Operating under the Anakin Skywalker-inspired reeing of "if you're not my friend you're my enemy" it seems Forced Adversity preemptively blocked fellow Anti-SJW critic Saggy with extreme prejudice. In response, Saggy went on a discombulated rant for over an hour expressing her refusal to get involved with "Comicsgate shit" along with anger that Dane Whitman did not simply come to her directly with any problems he might have, unlike more mature mutuals such as Matt Jarbo. From here Saggy gets sidetracked by making her own, far more vulgar version of the G4 Frosk rant about how her haters all just want to jerk off to her voice and then segues into a bit about how Monica Lewinsky stopped WW3 by sucking the president's dick that sounds like it came from a Sinbad standup set from the late 90s. The point, I guess, being that Saggy stands with Nerdette.

ds

Meanwhile, as this was happening...

1643801821431.png

Anthony Gramuglia, impoverished cancel culture enthusiast and reliable generator of homosexual agitprop in the comics journalism sphere, has also decided to confront Forced Adversity about his planned expose of IMEGA. Imega it seems is already extremely annoying and unbearable as a CG literally who and has Ant and friends deeply concerned that all this oxygen FA plans on providing him runs the risk of transforming the Mexican Alog into some kind of full blown Anti-Renfamous. Forced Adversity, being Forced Adversity, notes that in the past two years this unsolicited advice is the only "support" Gramuglia and the OG SJWs have lent him and suggested cognitive behavioral therapy to be less of a mentally broken retard or consider staying in the gay pussy sidelines lane while men like him do the work of owning the Comicsgate chuds. This, uh, did not go over well.

1643802091722.png1643802206598.png1643802292904.png1643802351951.png

1643802981574.png

Suborned by the gay comic twink, Forced Adversity went on to lock down his twitter and purge both it and his community page of any mention of the planned anti-Imega/anti-Nerdette expose. And so, another great Anti-CG war draws to a close, leaving me to declare that the only real winner of this conflict was Imega, who for his part spent the evening retweeting uwu yuri furry romance manga in blissful unawareness that any of this was happening.

Is this the age of the Bloody Boomer Baron?
Broadcasting on FOX NEWS, he may be cancelled from reddit but not Kickstarter or mainstream television.
Seems coherence over internet autism is the way... or is it?
For this is also the age of
ICE ROSIEDON
Probably the most culturally relevant thing the Warcampaign has yet done, documenting and streaming from the Ottawa Trucker protest.
This live stream peaked at over 2K viewers and a 1K subs bump as of this posting for the previously stagnant channel.
Perhaps the age of the Frog has passed and retired to safer spaces.
I hear the Rippaverse is a nice safe gated community.
Safe from relevance
...now bring in the DAMAGE CONTROL!

Quarterpoundering alienating himself from Frog and Flash over "platforming" while edging into Leave Froskurrin Alone territory showing just why those based moderates and cross-aisle reachers can be trusted especially when there is mainstream media validation at stake. I hope EVS is proud of himself for preventing people from coming together and having important conversations in the name of civility and mutual respect.

I like how SJWs fucked comic books so hard in the ass it's literally only a matter of time until publishers like Marvel and DC, things that have been around for almost a century, go defunct.

My question is why we're comic books their number 1 target for destruction and the thing they did the most damage to?
