I'm sure this move to New York life change will definitely stick and not just be a 2-3 year phase Meyer will dabble in until he's no longer able to sustain motivation and quit, like he has everything else so far in his life. Can a guy who couldn't handle managing a youtube channel consisting of sperging at tweets by Vita Ayala hack it in NYC? Why did he announce the end of his channel before figuring out how he's going to sell the comics he's already paying to be made out of pocket? And how in demand are the skills of a supposed Cisco Certified Internet Engineer who doesn't know how to install an adblock on his browser anyway? These and many other interesting questions are going to be answered as we transition from the Simple Zack to the Punished Richard story arc.
If he went back to doing comic reviews in his tiny apartment where he points his shitty Android phone at his lap while his radiator whirs in the background and ends by holding the phone with his chin while he tears the book in half and flings the halves around the room… Maybe that wouldn't be so bad.
Didn't he claim that he was making comics for life because he'd been so villified on Twitter him getting a normal job was out of the question? A prospective employer would Google his name and that would be that. I swear I remember hearing him claim that, mostly because it didn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe I'm wrong.
Aside from that, there is an unspoken problem of ageism in the industry. If he does get hired, there's a good chance he'd be working under managers half his age at this point - but that age will work against him before that.
