Having weirdo orbiters like Paypiggons around no doubt had something to do with Ya Boi quitting.

Rock and Roll Ninja was such a stupid idea that I have speculated before it had to have come from Troy himself. One of the pictures in his Dox was him with Adam Jones the Guitarist from Tool.

I'm starting to believe that trainwreck of a stream might be the result of them slowly realizing that their movement is officially dead now and the forced jokes and nervous laughter were just a hard cope.

Another interesting bit of that stream is when Zack talks about discussing this decision with all of his friends and Frog doubts that happened because he never got a call, clueless to the fact that Zack is completely ashamed of him now and what he's done under Zack's banner.

Comicsgate isn't dead because Simple Zack is allegedly checking out. Comicsgate is really little more than a method for networking with independent creators who all generally have the same view that mainstream superhero comics are complete garbage and therefore they can make them better (YMMV). It's more of a business model than anything else. Sure there are lunatics and morons but @FROG has not needed Simple Zack to crowdfund nearly 5 rocks. Simple Zack has if anything just fucked up this shockingly amazing opportunity to never have to work another day in his life. As a creator myself, I don't consider making comics "work". It's fun. Work is having to be some place every day from 9-5 that you don't have a choice in the matter about.

Comicsgate only exists as a result of Zack and his attempted (successful) cancellation. The whole premise is that this rag-tag group of indie entreprenuers were going to resurrect the dying industry by showing them the error of their ways and giving the customers what they want plus top-notch customer service. Instead that has devolved into non-stop infomercials for products that never arrive hosted by full-blown drunks and junkies who urinate on-stream.

Total mystery how Zack could walk away from all that.

At this point I don't know what to believe. Richard stated that he would only do it for like 5 years, but at the same time I kind of think he was delusional enough to think he could get into the "mainstream" between Expendables: Go To Hell and his weird plans for public domain characters. I honestly think something happened with Expendables: Go to Hell that started this whole thing. I think he realized pretty quick he was going to make jack shit off of it between Stallone, Dillon and Graham and it probably made him realize how pointless the whole endeavor was which is why everything seemed to shift there. He did absolutely no marketing for it, and then he starts pushing these weird ripped from the headlines cheap cash grabs, and ends up settling the lawsuit all within like 10 months. Isn't that also when he finally learned public domain didn't work the way he thought it did?

It's a weird situation because the idea of him pushing these low effort books and going completely 180 on his views to get his fanbase to abandon him before he decides to just quit due to a tiktok is both stupid enough for him to do but also feels like way too much fucking effort for him to do.

(Or maybe all this is just to get out of that nice dinner he said he'd take EVS and his family out for one day.)

Something happened with "Expendables Go To Hell" absolutely.

That was the last time Richard went on live streams to promote a campaign. I don't think he appreciated his experience live with his "friends" who took the opportunity to publicly interrogate him over his loyalty to a hashtag.

Chuck Dixon and contracted artists already do the actual creation of comics while Zack's contribution will be... sharing his hot takes on the latest tiktok he saw on his wagie lunchbreak or whatever. The reason why he states he isn't quitting comics entirely is only because he can't; he's currently paying out of pocket for the development of multiple new comics (just ask Frog or Matt Bahr) and needs to recoup the costs. But with no channel, 100% of the actual work being contracted out and the only thing Meyer is willing to bring to his business is a digital money slot and a mailing list of fans who signed on before he became everything he railed against in 2016, things... don't look good. The panelists on Frog's show can see the writing on the wall when they're looking at a guy who's shed 90% of his customer base within 4 years and now vows to involve himself in his company less, they just aren't willing to say it.

One of the Kamen America fans is saying that Richard is currently on his hands and knees trying to get Iconic Comics to run his business for him. Who knows, it may be true. The panelists on Frog's show can see the writing on the wall when they're looking at a guy who's shed 90% of his customer base within 4 years and now vows to involve himself in his company less, they just aren't willing to say it.

Maybe he's gone completely around the bend and is headed to NYC to see if Doctor Strange can make the world forget that Richard C Meyer is Ya Boi Zack.

I kind of figured Zack would take his ball and go home at some point, but I thought it would be because he'd made good enough money to do what he wanted for a while and could forget about the "hassle" of fulfilling his life's dream of working in comics, at least for a short time. Never thought it would be at the end of a series of moves designed to completely reverse his course on just about everything he made his career on. Plus, i can see him going full Doug Earnst instead of full FROG. It suits his style of comics and youtube better.

My theory is he has been getting blackpilled on comics for quite some time now. A couple days ago youtube started autoplaying some of his videos from a couple years ago and you can hear how more animated he was.
He is finally reaching a point he realized that he was always after a quixotic dream of fixing an industry that does not want to fix itself and he should go on with his life. He made some comics, will keep making more, managed to work in one of his favourite franchices, has made some money (which makes me suspect that Mark Waid paid him settlement money, since Zack, who only has diminishing comicbook campaigns and a dying YT channel but also thinks about buying property and traveling to Europe) and now wants to get back from bordertown exile and into a big city.

TL: DR He should rename his channel into Comics Mattered with Some Zack Guy and go on with his life.


On a different tangent, I have watched/read some Jack Reacher which is about a former military guy, probably autistic, who travels around the US banging chicks and saving the day and he kind of reminds me of YBZ quirks - I am really curious if much of Zack is a veteran thing.

"This will teach you not to be a hate monger" the troon says in a baritone voice and stabs home the needle between Richard's tender butt cheeks. "Noooo" Richard screams as everything goes black. He wakes up and his ass hurts. Troon raped him. Zack wipes the tard cum from his Anus and climbs to his feet. "DILBERT GUY!" he exclaims. This ultimately leads Richard to withdraw from the internet and give up comics, returning to obscurity."
