A year or two ago I would think Zack going to Iconic would be a great idea. They aren't his friends, so could be more harsh with the tard wrangling than @FROG could. Also, those guys, for the most part, stay out of drama and just do their work. These seem like things that would have been perfect for Zack. But now, Iconics star is on the rise(skyrocketing actually) and Zacks brand is done. There is no reason for Iconic to give him the time of day.Iconic Comics doesn't need to step down by incorporating Richard into their business, they are thriving on their own IP's and customer service model. You don't pour sugar in the gas tank.
I've spent the last two years publishing and fulfilling CYBERFROG UNFROGETTABLE TALES 1-4. STARBLADES, CREED: Re-Imaginary #1&2, CYBERFROG: WARTS AND ALL, while producing 70 pages of new CYBERFROG content, dozens of covers and creating toys and merch. Every project I'm involved in raises 6 figures in funding.Richard fell out of love. It happens. He's not equipped to run a publishing company, but taking advice from a guy who has also savagely squandered his rare comics opportunity to prioritize that shock jock lifestyle, won't fix a thing.

The YouTube radio show stuff makes that possible, but it hasn't been prioritized over anything else. It's just a very important part of the job.
Nah that's not what this is. Meyer talked up a big game for years. That if only the mainstream would listen to his proscriptions from on high, American comics could be saved. People who believed in what he said gave him two million dollars to do things his way and prove what he's saying is the real deal. Meyer then took that money and proceeded to farm out every aspect of his "lifelong dream" to contractors and his incompetent third-party fulfillment agency (Dynamite Comics, btw) while he fucked around in his backyard, taking the behavior he criticized and elevating it to new unprecedented levels. If Dan Slott used a blockbot to get rid of critics on twitter, Meyer would interact with social media one way, refusing all forms of interaction or even interviews in lieu of yelling at twitter screenshots on his youtube channel. If Marvel or DC editorial seemed unaccountable to fans or customers, Meyer wouldn't even disclose the name of the fulfillment agency actually handling their orders. If people felt DC or Marvel were mismanaging their characters and replacing them with unwanted politically charged garbage, Zack would kill off his flagship franchise at issue #3 and put out Impossible Stars and PANdemIC instead. You get the picture.
Whenever any of this way pointed out, or how he was consistently unwilling to practice what he preached, the go to answer was some gay bullshit sob story about how "renfamous gave him PTSD that's why he does this" or whatever. If you think someone like that can do what Doug Ernst has done, I don't know what to tell you.
Faced with the increasingly undeniable sales reality encroaching through his endless baseless boomer blather, that you actually do need to engage with your customers/fans, that customers do expect what they paid for when they were told they would get it, that building a fandom is an unavoidable fact of self-marketing in the 21st century instead of his dumbass "hot dog vendor" theory. That maybe some of his armchair quarterback theorycrafting of the comic book industry might just be wrong and that other people might actually have a better grasp of things than he does, his response was to lock himself up on a hugbox and then simply quit.
Doesn't really seem like a "quixotic hero" to me.
Publicly, sure. In DMs though it seems to be a different story as @Starscreams Cape noted earlier tonight with more one-way demanding of help without so much as a public acknowledgment. That's why I'd consider it a favor to Frog if Meyer just hopped over to Iconic Comics. It certainly wouldn't be a favor to Iconic Comics.

What I get from you and Zack is that he is the Captain America and you are the Tony Stark of the CG Avengers.
He is simple, singleminded and has a lot of blue collar ethics to him.
You are extravagant and part of an elite for decades.
When you have a common foe you will join forces and fight.
When there is no common foe though, you don't meet eye to eye.
To you, the "radio show" is something you enjoy and that brings you and other people money.
To Zack, it is not interesting. The way he is bitching about Amber Heard videos feels like he is considering you sellouts and he is turning into Captain Cummings.
Or Trotsky to your Stalin
The root of the issue, though, is that you don't have a common enemy anymore (and this has been a problem with CG for quite some time with WC and Liam and whatever Slumtown drama happens) and you all act like a bunch of bitches.
To me CG is a great example of a modern Marxist movement: the people taking the means of productions away from multinationals and into their own hands. And it leads down to the same issues Marxism had. That's a surprisingly marxist analysis with some deep cut there. I think more than a few CG creators would enact their own Animal farm given half the chance

Meanwhile, the SJWs represent the late stage capitalism or neoliberalist side of producing comics and have also hit the main problems that neoliberal capitalism faces
Maybe YBZ is more Lenin than Trotsky (TFM is more Trotksist imho) but @FROG is the Stalin of CG.
Did Zack and Tim Lim have a falling out? Cuz I’m surprised that he didn’t have Tim Lim on his list of replicable successes. Like aside from from Frog and Doug Tenaple, Tim is arguably the most successful CG adjacent creator out there that achieved their success through their own hard work.
There would be no CG without YBZ. Nobody remembers Captin Cummings, Englentine and Meme Headroom (wasn't Miccah Curtis also active back then?) YBZ brought their ideas to the masses. That plays into the propaganda Frog and company have of Richard being the founder of CG rather than a part of the more palatable later wave. It's probably fitting.
Maybe he would fit in with Bukharin in that Frog and Richard have less ideological disagreement than they are different in funcitonal preferences?
Lim/Earnst have legitimate beef with Richard letting Frog loose his goons on them.
The most they've done, from my memory, is a veiled swipe by Earnst about Meyers only contacting him to try to steal one of his artists?
This is true. Although Zack and Captian Cummings were my introduction to to CG, Captain Cummings got boring really fast when he started veering off into hard right politics and took his focus off of trashing bad comics. Englentine was also one of my favorites, but once Gabby Rivera’s run on America Chavez ended, it felt like his channel lost its focus. Zack also made his channel big through Gabby’s run on America as well but, he managed to keep his audience’s attention by smoothly moving on to the next trashfire in comics. There would be no CG without YBZ. when it comes to the US, everyone to the left of Hitler is a filthy commie and some of the things they are outraged about (like, say, affordable healthcare) only far-right European parties would dare consider limiting.
Well, she fits right in with New Labour. The fact that Hillary is considered on the left is hilarious to everyone outside of America.

PS: The Critical Drinker was talking about a movie called "The Death of Stalin" which is also a comicbook. Give it a watch/read with CG in mind and it becomes an apt depiction of the state of CG.

I think I came in a little too late for Mim Headroom, cuz he had Made his farewell video to CG by the time I had heard about him.
Hillary is hard left as long as it suits her thirst for absolute power. The fact that Hillary is considered on the left is hilarious to everyone outside of America.

Milkshakegate and The Dark Roast are critical events and YBZ was in the center of them. That's not true. It's like saying without Metokur there wouldn't be GG or without Nerdrotic there's no Fandom Menace. The incipient events leading to CG happened without Meyer.
CG would have existed, but not as we know it. Needles and whatever else.
Politisperging, but this is the most basic bitch European worker/labour/democratic party politics ever. Berine Saunders is your average boomer center-leftist candidate in Western Europe. That's some eurotrash there...
No, in most of the world Hillary circa 2016 was far left. She would have, had she won, been the furthest ideologically left leaning person to hold the Oval Office. She was socially liberal, campaigning on gun control, gay supremacy, and abortion subsidized by tax payers. Fiscally, she was fully on board with government taking over health care and in fact was a major reason for the '94 wave as she pushed the failed medical reforms that cost them support. She's a true blue liberal whose to the left of the majority of the world and would only be considered not left wing in the handful of Western European countries where liberalism has more or less shifted the Overton window.
Milkshakegate and The Dark Roast are critical events
and YBZ was in the center of them.
Captain Cummings may have been the one YBZ copied, but it was his delivery and honest outrage that sold them to a wider audience.
It doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks or does politically, in American politics, she's an absolutely left wing ideologue but again, you can call it dumb all you like but she will absolutely compromise any belief she has if it stands in the way of her having power.Milkshakegate and The Dark Roast are critical events and YBZ was in the center of them.

Her platform could easily lead to what to someone like Angela Merkel did in Germany.
Hint: Merkel is not a leftist...
That's interesting. So you are saying you came up with the concept? My theory was unprovable I'll admit but I suppose if you are taking credit for RNRN it's completely blown out of the water. I find it really interesting that Zack is finding collaborations this way. Were you just a fan of his work, or did you come to him with that specific business idea? Did he reach out to you?so stupid... it just might work. I don't know who Troy is. I went to Meyers, talked about our appreciation for Larry Hama, and came up with the concept. Then Dixon came in, put some structure to it, and added some cool montages. Will people like it? I don't know. hope so.
