Nah, the action figures are fine.
Didn't say they weren't fine.

You raised a fuck-ton of cash to have them developed through crowd funding. I assume that the 400K goal would represent the upper limit hard costs of design and set up to have them produced. Lots' of money for tooling and design. And 200K+ left over for bidding on Elton John's jock strap or Elvis's coke spoon or whatever.

So you should be making hundreds of thousands off them.

But then you said this.
making toys and clothing is fun. The truth is, there isn't very much money in it compared with comics

Your 1st Wave campaign shows over 600K and with the toys you sold through your Rekt Planet campaign on top of that and anywhere else you might be selling them would indicate that the toys should be at least comparable money to the comics.

"There isn't very much money in it compared with comics" seems like a curious thing to say about a campaign that grossed high six figures unless you ran into some unexpected troubles which would be totally understandable.

Did you source them out of the States or China?

I know that was probably rhetorical

I am not an EVS simp, but I do believe that a Cyberfrog series could be on the shelves and sell well.

Ethan could easily follow the example of talented normie fence-sitting pros like SGM or Bryan Edward Hill that are sympathetic to some CG views but not open about it, have backchannels to CGers to shill for his books to their audience and make a quarter of what he made from CF IGGs based on his name recognition and how good his art is.
I plan to back CF once the first arc is done, assuming the world still exists by then...

But EVS is EVS so he had to go and burn bridges and get into the culture war leading expendable tards to the first line while barking orders and making bank.

You might think that, but $600K is BARELY enough to make and ship 4 high quality action figures with a relatively low minimum order quantity. I'd still like another $100K or so, and I'll try to get it with a variant campaign.

At $400K, I planned to go into my own pocket. This really is something I'm doing because I've always wanted to do it, since the CyberFrog Playmates Toys deal fell thru in the 90's.

There MIGHT be hundreds of thousands in it for me, but it'll be after fulfillment is done and we're selling remainder product at a profit. And maybe we'll make a distribution deal somewhere.

But every single fucking penny is going into the toys themselves.

I didn't look at the pictures but I did assume he sourced them out of China.

Sourcing out of China is where a lot of people get burned.
Almost everyone manufactures action figures in China. I don't know what you mean.

I don't know how those guys can watch what's happening from their vantage point and stay there. I'd be sick to my stomach every day, having to participate in creative meetings in which "PRIDE" and Diversity were main factors in the stories we were planning, and while all of my fellow creatives were mentally ill over Trump and Conservatism.

And when it comes to the money, even SGM admitted that his big money comes from selling Batman drawings, not from the comics themselves. And what he considers "big money" ain't much. He's still suckling at the teat of a cancerous mammal, and I guess he will until he can't any longer. They're circling him too and he knows it.

The bridges didn't need to be burned, they're already collapsing from decay.

There are some things that I'd do differently if I could go back to 2018, but getting into the culture war isn't one of them. I love ComicsGate.

I believe the fact thet are both liberals does not help embrace a (mostly) right wing movement.
Also, BEH has Holywood jobs and SGM's career revolves around playing with Batman. I mean, SGM could easily crowdfund his bootleg Batman comicbook easily if push comes to shove.

Thing is, they could reign themselves and you could not. This makes you a lolcow contenter.
And a lot of money.

It’s “rein,” you retard. Everyone on the internet is a lolcow to someone else. As long as I don’t have to suck Mags Vissagio’s dick for the privilege of working around SJWs drawing gay variant Spider-Man for subsistence wages, I guess I’ll accept lolcow-dom to some people. It’s okay with me.

While we're on the subject of retards, just when you thought things couldn't get anymore retarded, it does.

Looks like Mark Brooks has purchased the copyright to RoboChode, an IP that renown denizen of the CG Slums Lord Finatra claims ownership of. As you can expect, much retardation ensues.

We know a retard named Mark brooks copyrighted a retarded idea, wasting $187 for no reason other than to rile up potentially dangerous spergs.

I tried to warn Mark Brooks what would happen if he decided to fuck around with Comicsgate. But one thing I know about social justice warriors, they don't back down. They double down. Then they triple down. Then they quadruple down. The only question is whether or not Mark decides to launch his own original crowd funded IP, and will that IP be RoboChode..?

Famous fence-sitter Perch lets slip that he is blacklisted from CG, having seen DMs where "people on the crowdfunding side" have warned people not to be friends with Perch because they won't promote their projects

Gabe Eltaeb went on Perch's show and he just crashed around like a bull in a china shop full of "new CG" chud culture war energy like Micah Curtis on PCP for two hours and he wasn't blacklisted from anything. The only reaction as I recall was Gabe getting asspats from his fellow CG Kings for shutting down Perch every time he tried to toss out an empty declarative about how leftist cancel culture was just, like, Gabe's opinion. After this I guess Gabe-like people "stop being allowed" to go on Perch's show. Weird.

Maybe independent creators don't want to go on Perch's show (or want Perch on their show) because Perch's whole brand is built on peddling bromides tailored towards appealing to a niche that is unable to deny the dire state of the traditional American comic industry but unwilling to acknowledge any of the causes of these problems, like the ongoing effort to blacklist any creator right of Mao Zedong, if those causes lead to inconvenient conclusions, for example creating problems with landing interviews with mainstream creators. In his interview of Sean Gordon Murphy, Murphy asked Perch what he'd do to "fix the industry", which amounted to the most simplistic, empty recommendations imaginable like "getting creators off of social media" and "take ads out in magazines" which, if only the big wigs in charge would just listen to Perch, would be able to miraculously reverse the 20+ year trend of losing ground to manga, webcomics and video games. The important thing though is that SGM feels safe with his career being associated with such a statement, not its veracity.

My point isn’t that you’re not running a lucrative grift - it’s self-evident that you’re one of the more successful YouTubers in the media-grievance sphere. My point is that it’s clear now that Comicsgate is no longer about making and selling good stories as a substitute to the floundering mainstream comics market, but rather about selling YouTube shows where viewers can get their political views affirmed by their internet daddies as a substitute to the retarded mainstream comics “community”.
I remember having this debate with Liam a couple years back, when Liam was bemoaning that he doesn't to be a youtube merchandiser and just wanted to be a creator unconcerned with having to market himself. Personally I side with Frog on this matter - given that creators in Comicsgate are closed off from the few anemic paths of making a living in indie comics, every means of being able to make them should be considered . If one's principles make you unable to act on them or put them into practice, then they're pretty worthless principles.

By that same reasoning though I've had very little patience for the sort of dogmatic thinking that has always gone on in Comicsgate since it's beginning, like platform boycotts, insistence on crowdfunding, or weird limiting purity tests like saying that all CG creators must self publish or complaining that Charlie's London distributing comics in museums because the British government in insufficiently conservative, or whatever.

I call it a grift because you offer no solutions, just more grenades to keep your base perpetually pissed off so they'll send you more money instead of actually doing something productive with it. Rush Limbaugh was much the same. The guy died worth a billion dollars and his movement immediately collapsed because he refused to invest one cent into actual grassroots action while he was alive. Instead he bought a third Gulfstream. How many warehouses are you up to?
I feel like I keep my base perpetually laughing, whether it's about how goofy I am or whatever is going on with the mainstream. Rarely do I try to incite anger in them, and when I do, it's justified. Some things are worth being outraged about.

And I do offer a solution: Stop supporting woke entertainment. Make our own entertainment. Support that entertainment.

What else is there?

Mark Brooks sure found his level with Big Daddy, Finatra, Stu and George P. Gatsis.

Brooks claims to have paid $187 for the trademark. 187 is the code for murder, I think this indicates Mark Brooks intends to murder comicsgate and/or Finatra and his parody IP. Source: Dr. Dre "1-8-7 on a motherfuckin' cop" where the cop = penis Robocop parody "Robochode"

Mark Brooks is extorting you! Why aren't you showing your gratitude?

'Empty' is close to the perfect description of Perch. He markets himself as the sane centrist but in his terror of agreeing with one side or the other, just ends up giving banal, lukewarm takes.

I don’t understand which “principles” ethically prevent you from promoting and selling your art.
