Zack's video from yesterday:
Not really all that interesting unless you are dying to hear yet another story about yet another bald, middle aged comics pro (Jason Latour) getting drunk at a con and unsuccessfully hitting on what I can only assume is a 3/10 half his age, leading to a
callout post several years after the fact. Sounds like she gave her number to an unattractive, awkward man and felt icky when he actually used that number to act like an unattractive, awkward man. Keep in mind, she gave this guy her number
after he attempted to lure her to his hotel room with the promise of free Spider-Gwen comics. Great idea, lady. Now, of course, Latour is the latest victim of the mob, with calls for him to make "restitution" for the crime of being a creep who didn't assault anyone, but is unattractive, awkward, and extremely bad at flirting.
Hidden inside that otherwise boring video are two little nuggets of pure Zackism:
1. Zack is keeping his comic reviews to his community posts on YouTube. He's been doing mini-reviews of some 1990s DC stuff and says his viewers asked him to make video reviews for these books instead but YBZ explains that since Comixology and the Marvel app are dogshit, he has resorted to reading pirated scans of books and has somehow reached the conclusion that he can't make videos reviewing them because he can't monetize something he didn't pay for. This is weird considering that just a few months ago, Zack did a
whole ass review of an X-Men issue from 1993, in which he explains that he's using a pirate scan site but doesn't care because he bought the issue when it came out, so nobody is losing money on it. As you can see, that video is still up and monetized. Zack has less video editing skill than ComicBookHut, so the idea of just putting together a few screenshots of the issues is out of the question. It's much easier to just record him opening 12 tabs over the course of a video and if he can't do that, he's not going to make video reviews. Zack thinks of everything.
2. On the subject of his community posts, he made one about Joe Glass' reaction to a scenario in which he dies and finds out Christianity was true:
While I can certainly appreciate the lulz factor of a literal sodomite limply finger wagging the God of Abraham and arguing over what constitutes a "good person", it probably isn't really great material for a comic book. Which means of course Zack is going to make it a comic book. The post says he "almost wants to make it into a comic" but, as he explains in the video, the reaction to this post was "VERY popular" among people who will buy anything Zack does, so he called up Narwhal and got the ball rolling on it.
That's right, Zack's next book is "SJWs vs God", illustrated by Narwhal. I can't wait to see the majesty of the Supreme Being illustrated as a blobby, misshapen hobo with barely recognizable facial features.
Zack is going to produce a modern day
Chick Tract (but with less entertainment value and not free) and I must preemptively congratulate him on what is sure to be an easy $45k.
