He’s literally said to tear his work apart if people don’t like it.

If anything I’m just surprised it’s launching with seemingly nothing despite that being seemingly the reason for the long wait and based on what he said he wanted to avoid what happened with most CG stuff.
There's no doubt his simp army will sell out the first issue or two, it's whether they keep coming back or more importantly how many new buyers emerge after the first issues are released that will matter.

People who don't like the Rippaverse are bad actors and will be gatekept! Those who question the Rippaverse without paying the corresponding "Mack" tier price will be gatekept the fuck out of.

Reminds me of Cuck Murphy's order. Also i'm pretty sure he's a manlet. Looks short af in this pic unless his band mates are all 6'10"

UPDATE:
The Ripoffverse is live! $47 for a book including USA shipping and tax (wait I thought taxation was theft why's he charging tax?) It is hosted on his own site but made to look like a crowdfunding site. It really is just an online store with a cart. Also it is not running too good, you might have to reload the page a few times. https://rippaverse.com/product/isom-1-campaign/

Wait a second. Give this faggot 99 bucks per month and all you get it some questions to ask him? People actually pay for this shit?

I am familiar with what other creators have done in the past and the rewards for such a high tier were infinitely better in terms of what you actually receive.

I would expect at LEAST a personal shout out video after 3 months at backing that tier. Someone gives you $300 and he can't give them a hell yeah?

Rippa i know you are reading this or one of your gay knights will send it to you. Become a "mack" yourself and give out decent rewards for high tiers or dont do it at all.

A large complaint is how mainstream comics are not being written for people that buy comics anymore. Comic fans still want capeshit. They just want it to be good.
The people who still buy mainstream comics in current year don’t want good stories, or even good capeshit, if it doesn’t star established characters and doesn’t take place in the mainline continuity. It’s the same shit as Star Wars consoomers. They don’t want to find new, better quality things to enjoy; they want to keep consooming the same brand til the end of time. Even if they write off the new stuff as garbage, they’ll just continue to take refuge in consooming the deep well of old content instead of branching out and exploring new stories.

Jesus. Those prices are nuts and not worth
If only someone could've forseen this happening on launch day and warned him about reinventing the wheel with a bespoke digital storefront....
I really should stop taking people seriously at their word. I swear he said that the reason he was doing things the way he was to make sure stuff like this did not happen.

There's literally years of people having such issues…

There is no reason this should happen.

He and I had that conversation here about a year ago. This just wouldn't happen. Couldn't happen.

Not my first rodeo. Of course it would happen.

His tier system is fucking retarded just for existing, but I need to point out how backwards and poorly thought out this particular element is:

For $9.99 a month you can get one request.

Yet you can also get 1 request, stand-alone, for $4.99.

That means that you could literally get the exact same perks at 50% off if you just buy the first tier once a month, PLUS you’re not locked into a retarded monthly subscription.

For the third tier, the only additional perk is % off merch (and what I presume is a one-time song download, based on how it’s worded). If we accept at face value that 1 request is worth $5, then in order for that remaining $15 to pay off, you would need to be spending over $100 in Rippaverse merch every month.

Literally everything about this sub system clearly hasn’t been thought out at all. Anyone retarded enough to pay for it deserves to lose every cent.

I have to point out that he says "one request (ever)" probably to prevent people from doing that.

re: The Ripppaverse...
Avery Silman is a common rancher, but that wasn’t always the case. After obtaining some unique abilities, Avery spent a brief stint being a hero under the moniker Isom in the city of Florepark, Texas. Realizing that it wasn’t for him, he walked away from this life. But after responding to a call from his sister, some violent altercations ensue and has Avery reconsidering his approach. What happened? Grab Isom #1 to find out! *Items will ship August 2022* and *Yes, there’s INTERNATIONAL shipping*
Is this prose as clunky as I think it is? Or will it read fine once I "obtain[ing] some unique abilities?"

Also, maybe I'm nitpicking, but this doesn't show a whole heckuva lot of attention to detail...

Pretty sure on the FNT panel Rippa claimed he's already spend $200k of his own money, but maybe I misheard in between all the yucking it up like hyenas with final stage syphilis the other panelists constantly do.

For this price a comic needs to deliver high quality art & writing.

Or...it needs to do none of that. Instead it just needs enough r.etards who buy garbage because it's anti woke. Get ripped off to own the libs.

Does he not understand how stretch goals work? Rippa seems like a lot of things, but too dumb to understand what stretch goals are doesnt seem like one of them. All his stretch goals are for him, not for anything free for the "backers" for reaching a certain $ goal.

No, it really is just poorly and awkwardly written. As a random retard on the Internet, here’s my take:

Avery Silman hung up his cape years ago, preferring a simple life on his Texas ranch to the fast-paced violence of superheroics. But an urgent call for help from his sister threatens to pull him out of retirement, and re-awaken a part of himself that he’d thought buried for good - ISOM.

His pitch feels like it was written by a high schooler doing a creative writing assignment. If that’s an example of his writing, then his backers best hope that he hired somebody else to write his actual book.

I guess there's a reason he didn't let anybody see any of this stuff until launch day. He'll still hit all the goals several times over on this first one though. Wait till the new thing shine wears off and lets see what the numbers are for the next installments.

Well you know getting an extra shitty frog sticker or whatever really was a buy a new car stretch goal anyhow. Seems to be a success already, we'll see how the fulfillment and reviews are but I doubt we have the next Boys or Invincible here.

No offense but while the original writing is a bit awkward, your version with "and re-awaken a part of himself that he’d thought buried for good" sounds like you write harlequin romances, and isn't much better.

Congrats to Eric July for the strong launch. Personally nothing about the pitch or shown art is interesting enough for me to spend $50 on it, but he's going to do well.

Also, its not just July's fanbase - he was on FNT shilling this stuff on friday and I think thats part of the signal boost for him. Since he already has books ordered etc I hope it goes smoothly for him. People nitpicking on a typo or subscriber tiers sound pretty stupid compared to the guy raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars per hour.
