It's fine if you want to be excited about Rippa's Success. It's certainly a milestone. Just wipe your chin before you start trying to chest bump the other retards. Anybody could have colored that book to the standard Eltaeb did. Now he's looking for a public altercation with CG's biggest A-log. Gabe is the biggest dumbass in the Rippaverse and it's not even close.

When it comes to The Culture War(tm) "We're winning!" is getting to be a pretty vague term. Gary got to the point where the declared it a glorious victory that a trailer had more dislikes than likes. Reminds me that lolcow that was on one of Null's recent stream (Keffafls?) who ratio'd people on twitter and declared this pissing in the wind a decisive victory.

Gary will continue winning so long as idiots keep sending him money thinking he's fighting something for them.
 
One thing I can't help but notice is how generic a lot of this stuff looks. It's not just the designs, it's the coloring and pencils too. It just seems like, and I mean it is, an alt DC/Marvel comic, which is different in its political leanings alone. Looking at some of Isom's villains I can't help but think, "What recycled Superman/Avengers/Invincible C list villains are these?" Cyberfrog's heroes feel similar, but it reminds me more of Darkseid War than anything, which was never as interesting as the pre-crisis lore it was based on.

To be honest, I know I would continue doing what Gary is doing if I was getting paid ungodly amounts of money by retards. Same goes for the fearful leader of the Cucks and Gamers crew. They talk so much about being high school dropouts that I think they know the only other jobs they could get are shitty jobs only suitable for high school dropouts.

That's the great irony. Stars Wars turning awful was the best thing that ever happened to any of these people. "Winning" the culture war is the last thing any of them want.

I'm honestly not seeing this as a big issue. Or at any rate not as THAT big an issue. 🤷‍♂️

If CG has proven one thing it is that the sizzle matters at least as much as the steak to a certain segment of the buying public. Maybe more, when it comes to stuff like sticking it to the Ess Jay Dubyas.

As long as he doesn't piss off Eric July, etc. It can certainly be overdone but we are in an era where more rather than less seems to be the norm, and antiquated notions like "build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door" are buried under ten hour long livestreams and twitter slap fights.

People like EVS, their abilities and ideas haven't changed, only which side they are on in terms of the comic industry. Since he did a lot of DC work, is it really surprising his current works reflect the style of his when he was with them? This is also the same for other ex-mainstream players. They bring their style and ideas with them into CG.

There's also an argument to be made that, to make money, you give people what you think they want. In this case, they believe what worked for DC/Marvel back in those days will work today. Whether that is true or not depends on the money they bring in. So far, it seems to be true for the more successful CG business peeps.

Innovators and groundbreakers are rare, in mainstream or out of it, and these people take a big risk in changing the status quo. Not everyone wants to take that risk, especially when their ability to make a living depends on keeping a costumer fanbase happy by meeting their expectations.

The grift gets a lot of play but I really don't think that's what has put these guys in a bad light. Most people know they'd take the gig, too, all other things being equal, even if they believe they'd do it with a bit more class or whatever. What got a portion of their audience miffed was the chronic emotional dishonesty and lack of integrity when they positioned themselves as regular fans with plenty of both, were eventually tested, failed, then failed on top of that fail with a failure to own up to the initial failure.

Take a simple superchat from one of Gary's streams last week. Some retard with $5 to burn wants to know what's up with Doomcock and their spoopy ExoZone show.

Now, had Gary handled this thing honestly from Jump Street he'd have a <60sec answer that's probably sufficient and requires zero effort because it's honest and - by now - well practiced. Instead, he has to sperg about his schedule being full like he's trying to blow off a chick he's not interested in. No one believes this. Gary doesn't believe it. His audience doesn't believe it. The retard who sent the superchat probably doesn't believe it. The reason being is that they broadcast the entire fucking drama to their audience in the first place. There's obviously more to it and it's not a secret and that was probably the subtext of the superchat. I don't think it's lost on anyone that he hasn't done a stream with Doomcock since then and even now refuses to mention the guys name much less say anything nice about him. It's this kind of really gay behavior that piques people's interest and for a guy who claims to not be into drama, it's really an odd move that just courts more drama. Good for our work here to be sure, but not good for his audience.

An hour later in the stream he goes on a tear against Hollywood but sort of gives some unintentional insight into how he presumably keeps the Zeroes in line, including Doomock. Not in all those words, of course, but if you assume that Gare-bear does a lot of projecting, it fits. Basically, use who you can ("allies") and then surround yourself with people too stupid/passive/weak to threaten you (aka "friends"). Apparently, moving to a red state helps as well. I still entertain the theory that this is ultimately why he had to put himself at odds with EVS. Ethan's cutting east coast ball-busting doesn't jibe with west coast sociopathic phoniness. They are an entirely different sub-species of sociopath.

Probably a big reason why they can ride the single-minded Star Wars grift for so long is that it dovetails nicely with the mental illness on display - the pettiness, the "personal" vindictiveness (Kathleen Kennedy! Kurtzman!). No one who is as apparently successful as Gary and co. are should still be spitting venom daily at Disney like it's last decade. Especially not after claiming to be "over it" every week.



Honestly, it seems like these guys are trapped in some fucked-up Twilight Zone gilded cage where they finally got what they wanted but are now encountering the Peter Principle and they're trapped. For Gary / FNT / G+G to talk about other things, positive things, they'd have to subordinate themselves to those things and their creators to some extent (becoming mere fans again) and there is probably only so much Eric July fellatio one can perform in a stream so it's a bit of a trap.
