To add on to what @Mister Dongs said about Alex Stein, Alex is one of the lowest grifter scum imaginable. His whole life at this point has been trying to be famous.
All his talk about fame-seeking with Alex on JACK Show did prompt Anna TSWG to reveal that MTV once filmed a reality show segment on her when she was in high school which never aired, but presumably the content still exists. Giving him a show is about the least surprising thing I could imagine happening as it's the best way to cut the balls off of someone who is essentially a shock jock radio on-location stunt retard. His show has thus far not been particularly good as it's like watching Gilbert Gottfried and Sam Kinison's infantile autistic gay tryhard son scream at a camera for an hour.
Something about this dude looking directly at you while doing his shtick just weaponizes it in the wrong way. I haven't seen gayface this unsettling since
that Devo album cover.
I saw that one coming that one coming and that’s a shame. I felt like Flash was one of EVS’s last real friends on YouTube. And the thing is, Flash really didn’t need Nerdrotic for clout so, that’s what it makes it hurt even more.
IIRC this all started proximately when Flash had Gary et al on a FlashCast but didn't invite Ethan and unfortunately Gary gave Flash a really great comic book conversation. Flash has since raved about how much fun he had (ignoring Anna and Renie) while (literally, for Gary) talking shop. I wonder if the problem here is that EVS doesn't like talking about comic books generally from a fan point of view and YellowFlash does (?). That may also explain why YellowFlash camped in the chat during a later CG stream and drunkenly trolled Malin, EVS and others by trying to get them to talk about Booster Gold for over an hour while refusing to actually join the stream. May be some way for him to justify falling in with Gary's petty scheme, but that's pure speculation.
Good Guy No Drama Nerdrotic is fucking ruthless. He will drop people without hesitation at the whiff of in-group drama, never to be mentioned again, to protect "the brand". It seems to be working quite well for him.
Gary and Jeremy have a very effective good cop / bad cop thing going. Jeremy's obnoxious outbursts, clout chasing, Twitter slapfights, and >muh brand sperging offer Gary the opportunity to play calm, emotionally-honest, hard-knock truth-teller who is serving as first-among-equals in a humble "fellowship." Meanwhile, he's ruthlessly using people to do his dirty work and take out the trash. He has used Jeremy as a meat shield to soak up the hate which has allowed him to build FNT up somewhat quietly.
Those guys all function as more of a unit in pursuit of a goal and Gary has spent a lot of time pruning his minions to get the right players. I get the impression they all see themselves as characters with a part to play and they seem to refer to each other that way. Contrast with CG who are a mostly just peers with a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition all basically working in parallel. All the shows and channels around FNT aren't so much parallel operations as they are a co-promoting syndicate working synergistically. Their content is godawful and they act like fags but I would never claim that they don't seem to have a good grasp on what they're doing.
This is regardless of if you think his content sucks, he's a meth head, etc valid points. Nerdrotic just massively winning over FROG.
Yep. Gary picks people and let's them ride the dick as Zeroes simply for networking/alliances. Chrissie Mayr of SimpCast is full FNT and she admits she hadn't even seen Star Wars before joining their show. She literally has nothing to contribute other than she's a bridge to Anthony Cumia, who Gary admires, and a homely female face that makes their show accessible to that demographic. She's an "in" with a whole network of comedians and Gary is apparently honest enough to realize he's not a funny person despite the fact that he tries really hard to fake-laugh at everything that happens on FNT. Having a working comedian going from comedy club to comedy club saying "hey, catch me on Friday Night Tights" is smart. He managed to get Tom Connors to fuck off despite the dude being a fully-billed and credited member of their show and he's got ComixDivision thanking him every week for being allowed to appear despite the fact that Comix is another fully credited member. It's a strange cult that Gary worked hard at. I still remember the early days when he would go around week to week and humiliate each of them individually live on stream for being "disrespectful". Years of 12-step meetings psychological manipulation paying off big.
