Lil update on Allegiance Arts:
Dear Bass Reeves Backers,
First, I apologize for the lack of updates to this campaign, as well as updates from Allegiance Arts in general. Secondly (and most importantly), I want to assure backers that their orders will be fulfilled in the near future.
Over the past few months several unexpected and unfortunate personal and professional events have hindered progress toward completion of the Bass Reeves project. In May, financial and life circumstances forced Elizabeth and myself to let go of Allegiance Arts’ two valued employees (Editor-in-Chief, Nick, and Marketing & Design Director, Cat). This change meant that Elizabeth and I were now shouldering the work load that was previously shared by four.
In the wake of Nick and Cat’s departure from the company, MANY compounding and concurrent personal and professional traumas, setbacks, illnesses, and tragic losses required a brief leave-of-absence for us to restore our physical, mental, and financial health.
As we prepared to return to business in early-September, we unexpectedly found out that we must relocate from the property we have been renting. At this time, all of our efforts are towards expediting the moving process so we can return to business as quickly as possible. The good news is that we will be moving closer to our families over the next several weeks, where we will have greater support in terms of volunteers to help compensate for the loss of Nick and Cat, as well as much needed facilities for fulfillment.
Once we are resettled, the outstanding tasks of book completion, pre-press and printing, and campaign fulfillment will be our highest priority. In the interest of facilitating those integral tasks we will not be able to respond to individual messages nor accommodate refunds or individual requests. We will keep you updated on our progress via campaign updates, and make sure you receive appropriate reminders to update your address as we close in on fulfillment. If you have relocated, Indiegogo provides instructions on updating your address at the following link:

The Allegiance Arts project is extraordinarily dear to us. It represents the culmination of decades of dedication to professional mastery and the entirety of our efforts and creative output over the last five years. As always, we are committed to excellence in storytelling and art production, and Bass is no exception. Our primary goal with the ‘Bass Reeves: West of Hell’ (as with all our projects) is to create an enduring work of art and story that will transcend time and generations.
As mentioned in the previous update, Elizabeth and I are personally handling the coloring of the final chapter of ‘Bass Reeves: West of Hell.’ Bass is David Williams’ artistic masterpiece (his ‘Dark Knight’ as he calls it,) and we are eager to return to the studio to apply our best color to this mighty work. For your enjoyment, we have attached some previously unseen panels from the unflinching and emotional Bass Reeves finale by K. Grevioux, D. Williams, and host of very talented supporting hands.
Last but certainly not least, we are eternally grateful for you, the fans, supporters, and backers who have made these great works possible. With your support, you have helped not just to bring heroes like Bass Reeves to life, but to do so independently and without compromise. In that, ‘Bass Reeves: West of Hell’ will stand as a testament.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during a very difficult time.
