He calls EVS's actions the product of "a window of opportunity", as other people in the thread have pointed out.

Apparently EVS showed up in the chat sperging out and mods removed his messages. So expect the inevitable "BANNED BY RIPPA - MY CHANNEL IS UNDER ATTACK" livestream.

Rippa is right about not entitling people a platform. Especially people he doesn't know. If a book doesn't fulfill on time, it will affect his business because he rubberstamped that project. You see the diminishing returns in cg projects like cyberfrog 2, reignbro & cyberfrog 3 of not fulfilling books on time.

How do you know this.. what do you mean "inevitable".

This reminds me of an old saying: Ich rufe nach dem Teufel und er kommt

I love a good Frog "My channel is under attack" stream. It's when he does his best rewriting of history and pulling the whole "I didn't like him to start with, but didn't want drama" work.

Rippa just shitting all over the comicsgate model.
Those tweets van Sciver did the other day about running comics like a business left me completely nonplussed. I'd say I was amused, but I was probably more confused, considering who was saying this.

It's amazing seeing people shit all over Ethan on rippa's chat. He got upstaged by a nugga with only a year in experience. If rippa got tennapel or Tim lim, the harvest would be plentiful.

It's just standard operating procedure for dramacow youtubers.

..so.. that didn't happen

Jeremy quits FNT . He sees the tide turning with Rippa shittyverse. He already lost bigly with the other verse.. the Snyderverse. He doesn't like the leash.
Maybe he got his balls back. Maybe he remembered he's a scorpion.

The Balldo man comment on Dixon meant Dixon isn't going to sell books, Eric is. Eric's audience is buying it because of Eric no matter who writes it and is better at selling it than Dixon. I think Dixon would admit this...it is what it is.

It's encouraging that Eric respecks Dixon and has at least one real writer to bounce future ideas off of. Dixon said the right things to Eric to stroke his massive ego gently and not become a dreaded critic detractor.

I’ve noticed a lot of hard cope from the CG orbiter channels YouTube puts in my algorithm. Those NPCs are going after Eric July hard because he makes Frogman sad. They’ve really turned on Ya Boi Zak. Probably after he’s started speaking positively about July and maybe has a few coded digs EVS.

The idea of running to make a video to defend the honour of ann Internet daddy is completely gay. Not even ghey, it’s actually just gay.
There is a whole industry of Eric July ball washer channels also. Like RenownedZ3r0 and Lawrence "LG" Gilmer plus turbo sped Luke Korolowicz Art. Channels like Drunken Peasants, Hannibal & Monty, and Geek Getaway are covering these guys as lolcows and they are convincing. It would be some kind of tard shielding to deny it just because they are pro-Eric. Weeb wars had it's ISWV cows along with the Kick Vic ones after all and this is no different.

Also there is an effect of bringing people together the account Rippaverse Goalposts and Eric's aggressive monetize the haters campaigns have had. Like without the prodding and escalation I doubt you would get a panel like this one with Ethan Van Sciver, Arrick (of Actual Fandom's The Initiative), Vito, top Nerdette Simp mod Robert Willing, and CG slum regular and incoherent muppet George Peter Gatsis.
Imagine what Ro, Panboy and the rest of those Warcampaign losers would be doing to July right now if they were still a thing.
I have seen anti-Eric July chatter on twitter from some Warcampaign people but they are so irrelevant at this point. I think if they were full sped like 2019 WC Rippa Goalposts would be clipping them, and Eric July would be making vague comments about how they are fruity weirdos.

Imagine what Ro, Panboy and the rest of those Warcampaign losers would be doing to July right now if they were still a thing.
I dunno, a team of guys posting Eric's face photoshopped on gay porn while cycling through a bunch of sock accounts as they get flagged and blocked? Also, they liked the protection of plausible deniability.
Dick's droogs by contrast opened with the tard OF thot drawing OC art of isom performing reverse cowgirl anal on vito. With WC the high effort gay sex artwork was typically only brought out after months of hostility (usually by Wiggle). I don't think any of them could make anything like this:

Rippa's diehard attack tards like the cyraxx-resembling renownedz34r0 and the goalposts guy are only really good for dogpiling, calling people racist and flagging tiny indie comic critic channels with 1/1000th Eric's subscriber base. Generally their efforts have been so ineffectual that to outside observers July is coming across as a helpless victim of bullying.

Quick round-up:
  • Speaking of Roro, he has apparently accosted a senior member of Trudeau's cabinet on an airplane and plans on sending him a copy of Vestige and not the comic with Trudeau riding a horse while trampling trucker protestors. Although Ro tried, Minister Sajjan did not hail Warcampaign.
  • Mark Millar posted a twitter thread where he predicts the comic book direct market has another 2 years before collapsing completely. He proposes the drastic solution of reducing page rates to nothing and giving creators a 50% cut of all sales as a last ditch effort to incentivize talent to return and purge the industry of the weak ekeing out crap for crumbs.
  • Comic shop retailer Phil Boyle is crossposting on ICv2 and Bounding into Comics saying at the rate things are going 25% of physical comic shops will be going out of business in 2024. The overall tone is a jeremiad directed at Marvel and DC for abandoning their fans and destroying their own industry.
  • Anna TSWG made an appearance on Alex Stein's show for some reason:

  • Eric July put out a long twitter post in response to a random CGer making it clear for the slow kids in the back that now that he's made it he doesn't intend on promoting any creators because now he's full up on shit he has to do. #WeWillWin
  • Simple Zack put out a 32 minute opus ranting about senior IDW editor Heather Antos, who's cruel woke female bullying is the singular source of all dysfunction according to Meyer. Not just IDW, but also the employees at Marvel and DC are completely at the mercy of the Milkshake Mistress. She doesn't even need to give them marching orders, as they all live in fear of what might offend her.. Zack lay out a theory that when reigning editors like Scott Alio and Eddie Berganza were cancelled for groping employees and sexual harassment, it created a 'bully vacuum' (his words) that was then usurped by Alexi de Campi, Antos, Tess Fowler etc., sort of like a clout version of the quickening. During the tail end of the stream Zack starts armchair quarterbacking and laying out theoretical dialogues about how he would passive-aggressively dismiss SJW cancellation attempts if he was a big shot boss guy and putting Eric July in charge of X-Men, which is not at all sad and pathetic. One day comics will be free to thrive once liberated from evil bullylord Heather Antos.

I haven't seen this posted here yet. Null shared some thoughts on Vito's Superkiller.

Null was perplexed why Vito would be asking people about page layouts when the thing is supposed to ship in December (spoiler: in the best traditions of CG, Superkiller has been delayed yet again).

Also, he dropped $100 to get physical copies of ISOM, but is only going to acquire a PDF of Superkiller for the expressed purpose of shitting all over it. I suspect the difference in money and effort was intentionally mentioned because Dick watches MATI and spergs out at Null regularly. :story:

Now this is the sort of incoherent, autistic rambling we expected from Zach back in the day. A return to form?
Nah, he needs to record it on a cellphone, sitting in his car, talking manically, while eating a Quarter Pounder, in McDonlad's parking lot. That's classic Zach.

Isom doesn't have a digital option and Null has to pay for shipping to Serbia. $100 is the cheapest he can buy it for.
I'm not sure Null is gonna have the last laugh here when he realizes he could have spent that money on at least two third world handjoes and reviewed those on his stream instead.

Old Zack would have taken the allegations tweeted by Ben Templesmith that an IDW executive was embezzling funds to squander on thots as total vindication of cumdumpster-gate.

he could just find a link online to read it... Also, $100 for that is one of the biggest scams ever... I read both issues, just to see whats all this shit about, and no surprise, it ain't that good. Same could be said for most of the CG books. The story and the characters just don't grab me and I give zero fucks about everyone in the book. Art is also pretty mediocre, especially during fights... So, i guess my favorite part of Isom is that its pretty short. I am sure that this new book, Alphacore, or whatever its called, is gonna be better, as it does have a pro writer in Dixon. But the problem is, that I haven't seen Dixon write anything great in like 20 years, but still, it can't be worse than the first 2 books.

I also saw Ethan mention that he plans to finish reignbow the brute by Xmas and ship it in spring, or summer of 24... yea, good luck with that.

It's still no less funny though. Dick is seething. Count on it.

Also, there are ways he could review ISOM without paying a dime, but he elected to buy the physical books. I think maybe that was an intentional move on his part, but I dunno. He does seem mostly supportive of July and his business.

He's doing it specifically because it's a drama on his site spread across several different threads. It's what he does. Discuss things the KF is discussing. His off-site content is largely driven by on-site content. My guess is he'll also make the $100 back easily, and then some, because the ISOM review will be on Gumroad for a week or so before releasing it to the broader public.

can any one remind me what started comics gate?
For crowdfunding? It started with Zack making his own Book "Jawbreakers" but his publishing deal with antarctic press (who publishes Tim Lims My Hero magademia) got canceled after Mark Waid (Known for daredevil Kingdom Come) blew up their voice-mail threatening to go after them which resulted in the failed lawsuit that evs was the creator of in some protoweeb wars "warchest" to help with legal aid for Zack. This inspired antisjw creators to make their own projects with old ips they had before joining the big 2 of the entertainment industry (Cyberfrog for Ethan and Earthworm Jim for Tenapal). About 3 months into it Ethan caused the first dismissals of Tim Lim due to trump books and Nerkish for his humor threatening a dox which canceled Nerkish, Tim Lim's & Cecil's (a 40 year old dude who got kicked out of his sister's house of either streaming naked outside or wore a creepy mask that the sister's nanny or neighbor reported) Book "CashGrab." Also he had issues with Voxday trying to take comicsgate ip.

Pretty fucking spot on retelling of cg in a nut shell. Also the endless livestreams instead of working on the books themselves of the creators (with the exception of zach) due to the money just flowing in.
