Also did I miss EVS talking about his biggest champion, a COMICSGATE KING, VITO bailing on his comic?
Or maybe they want their money back, because you’re back, hat in hand, for more cash when you haven’t delivered the first thing they paid for.

Same fake victimhood shit as Zack. It’s not hard to get that people get mad when you don’t deliver, but have the audacity to ask for more money.

Do people think that EVS is using the money for the new books he's advertising to pay for the pile of old books he hasn't published and delivered? Or is he straight up taking the money and never planning to complete his late books? I'm wondering how long he can keep the scam going?

You tell me. This was 5 mins ago.

I do like it when people take the comics thing seriously it's such a contrast to the joke this corner of comics has become (or always was).
We already reached the turning point quite a while ago but it doesn't matter.
The audience that was driven away has found new hobbies and is not coming back.

Even if it turns all the way back to 2010 it doesn't matter. It is too late. No one that stopped being a comics fan has any interest in coming back.
This is really also part of why the comics game movement is fading away. Intitially a LOT of the interest they got was that audience that wanted change and wanted
the industry to course correct. The majority of the sales EVS and the others had were probably from this segment. People that were still invested in comics but
wanted to protests what was happening in the mainstream. Maybe seeing supporting these cg comics as a way try to correct the industry and get rid of the woke stuff.

I feel like these people are now also giving up and moving on, and buying less and less cg comics as well.
People bought CyberFrog not because it was a great comic (it wasn't) but to make a stand against the mainstream comics industry. Even these people are moving on now.

At this point expecting the audience to come back is like expecting that if they just drop the tranny then people will come back and buy bud light again.
2010. It's so far in he future now. People are moving on from paper in general. The audience that remembers the good old days is too old for this shit.
Comics are already dead. People are reading manga instead. Just look in any Barnes and Noble, there's walls of manga but not a single floppy to be found. And the DC and Marvel graphic novels section is typically tiny.

I bet that manga is a big part of what's keeping comic shops afloat nowadays.

Superhero comics are irrelevant, CG artists should have concentrated on something more story or character driven, but they wanted to relive the 90s speculation filled comic boom with counterfeit characters. A bad choice.

Warhammer 40K is kinda hot right now. CGers could be doing grimdark stuff in that vein with a new twist, but the only person I've seen try that is Del Arroz and his book looks uniteresting because the art just straight copies Warhammer style space marines.
Manga are comics but the tankōbon format you saw in B&N is better. More pages, an evergreen volume you can keep in print for a lifetime. More portable and durable. Not some fragile limited edition collectible bullshit to be sealed in plastic forever. Plus people are used to reading manga digitally so you can also capture the audience that doesn't even care about collecting. But it requires work and our cows want to sell low page count collectibles to out of touch retards.

Warhammer is Scifi and Scifi in general is just better than capeshit. It effects the world and predicts the future.
This was EVS' window of opportunity. We saw his initial sales figures. If he had any kind of work ethic, he could have cranked out comics, got them to customers, kept his customers buying, continued to grow his fanbase, etc. He could have built a loyal, dedicated fanbase that could have kept him afloat for years even if it were only made up of aging comic fans.

Eastman and Laird created a multi-million (billion?) dollar comic empire, because they spent years cranking out their black and white independent comics on a regular basis. TMNT probably would have been a flash in the pan if they hadn't steadily fed their customers more turtle books. The failure of CG is that when demand was through the roof, these guys cut their supply to a trickle. Even a steady supply of mediocre entertainment will keep people buying your books, but nobody has patience for creators who are unpredictable and stop producing for indefinite periods of time.
The psychology of crowdfunding is something like putting yourself in the shoes of the beggar. Like imagine if you or I or many others were crowd funding comics, we would be consistent and have a real company and make lots of them. Then in a moment of weakness and delusions you think I can get behind that and donate. But that's a rational productive version of publishing and not what Ethan or Zack or a lot of others in this space have in mind. It's a last grasp for money after other failures doing the same shit and avoiding doing real work.

Honest question for someone that keeps track of these things (i.e. not me)
But how many times now has he re-released the same old comics just in a different package/box by now?

The irony is deafening.
There are over ten versions of bloodhoney. 3 main variants, three line art variants, an ultimate/remastered version with variants, and a Trump cover with multiple variants, something called Bloodhoney drained. Plus the box. It's extra funny that no comic book database site or anything has bothered to list very many of these things.

It's both sad and amusing that it took EVS being a contrarian about Joker 2 to get his paypigs to start asking for refunds. They should have stopped giving him money and demanding refunds when he took longer than a Presidential term to get a book out. They should be madder about getting scammed, not pieman having shit taste.

I just got a color eReader (Kobo Clara Colour). I showed it to my family, and said, "Hey, see this, what do you notice." None of them noticed anything, until I pointed out it was in color. The colors are pretty muted on it, but if you have the backlight on they look decent. I was reading old issues of The Vault of Horror on it and it really does make a difference. Kindle has a color eReader now too.

eBooks have stubbornly stuck around even though people thought they would be replaced by tablets or phones. And what do color eReaders need now? Content. And by content, I specifically mean comic books. But what do we have? A mainstream comic industry full of gay crap, and a ComicsGate "alternative" full of a different kind of gay crap. Manga doesn't really help, because manga is still in black and white (great for the previous generation of eReaders, but not so great for color eReaders). Oh well...

Seriously! I'd buy July's stuff if they were available in more affordably priced digital formats. No way am I paying for overpriced physical copies that will end up taking real estate in my place.
I like to have physical media, I know where I is and it can't be taken away from me or edited for "modern" Audiences.

To be fair, he could be lying, which is Ethan’s favorite thing to do.
If that is their reasoning, then yeah, that shouldn’t have been the straw.

Remember, Zack lied and went on that unhinged rant over statements never made in his customer’s refund request. Zack even showed us the message, and still lied to us about its content.
The guy came out to clear his name, and confirmed he was mad about late books, not Snow White.

EVS lies like he gets a check for it (he does) so…

Isn't this kinda like a Ponzi Scheme?
I think EVS is a fat retard, but he can't be THAT much of a fat retard and commit fraud, right?

...Right?

A Ponzi scheme promises attractive returns for investment. An IGG project does not guarantee any results and the site tells us so in the ToS. You sink your money at your peril just like stocks, but unlike stocks and pyramid schemes, crowdfunding tends to promise only trinkets and knickknacs as a sort of gratitude.

If Froggo there were by some fluke successfully dragged to court to defend himself from fraud all he'd have to do is point to IGG's ToS. Yes, a scummy thing to do, but legal nonetheless.

I blame these peoples' inherent character defects. Like you said, a rational person, a normal person would be grateful beyond belief to have been handed the kind of golden opportunities. An artist who truly cared about making a living making comic books for fans to read would have made the best of their opportunity. But EVS' ego, narcissism, gluttony, laziness, etc got the better of him. Zack's "neurodivergence" and ego got the best of him.

I think EVS thinks he's the cleverest mastermind. I can totally see him trying to keep up his Ponzi schemes indefinitely. (Didn't somebody on this thread uncover how EVS was pulling other scams we didn't know about where he promised work, took money, but never delivered?)

As long as there's always a new crowd of people willing to feed him more money with no guarantee of return, what's to stop him?

@Stuper Mario your points are disturbing but accurate
if people are willing to front load money to a project that may or may not be fulfilled its on the backer not evs or creators who do not fullfill deadlines or projects.

This is why CG is dying, in the end CG was is and always will be a ponzi scheme. and any one willing to back these projects after getting burn well it is what it is a fool and his money.

Violins for any creators who thought this Ponzi scheme would help them.

I enjoy having a physical book, but I really wish a lot of these guys would get over their fear of piracy and put out some pdf's. You would think these guys were going to become broke overnight from the way they desperately avoid the option. Sure they got a couple of a logs just waiting with baited breath for some books to show up on a piracy site so they can spread it around, but it's way fewer than they think.

True, EVS could be lying and he definitely isn't above making himself look like the victim for sympathy bucks, but the few loyal fans left seem to be completely against the shill campaign him and Meyer are doing for Joker 2. I bet a couple of them are actually pissed off enough to demand refunds. You can't foster the type of fanbase they have and then demand they enjoy the slop they've been rallying against for years. Even from your most loyal fans, you're gonna get some resistance

By next year Reethan should have lost enough paypigs to have to forge a new more retarded alliance. Maybe he'll start streaming with Andrew Tate or something.
