Speaking of, do we know how much of his content is gone now? I know he purged a lot of his edgy, offensive, good videos but does the Dark Roast still exist somewhere? Seems for the talk of Zack deserving a thread, I feel like that one at least should be available as an illustration of Richard at arguably the peak of his relevance.

This is the opposite of audience capture, which Simple Zack is so worried about.

It's cultivating a audience of yes men that will blindly agree with everything you say, even when you contradict yourself, and actively purging anyone that won't play along. Vox Day and Ethan have been doing this sort of thing for years, pruning the tree of engagement until you're left with only the most cult like adherents.

Call it the creator cult.
 
Eric weathers did a live stream called young Eric weathers. Guy must of hated working for Eric July. I find it amusing Zach calls dudes likes nerdrotic and Jeremey Griggs? (Idk how to spell his name) and the people that watch them hillbillies, when zach was born in Indiana or some other Midwest state and grew up on Midwest military bases cuz of his dad none of these people are hillbillies. I doubt “hillbilles” care about the culture war. Nerdrotic is from San Diego and lived for years in San Francisco idk where Jeremy is from but he’s not a hillbilly. Zach needs to work on his insults

Even Twitter isn't as bad as using Youtube community notes as a Twitter. It's unsearchable, it seems like old posts are deleted automatically, and when you archive posts they don't have an easy name to search in archive.today. Still it is possible to search them:

It's fascinating how CG is so insulated and has zero crossover with any other community.

They used to have crossover with the larger comic and cartoon commentary communities, but that's been gone For a while. Despite there being not only several artists, but several industry professionals in Comicsgate, they've got zero crossover with the art community. The Star Wars community doesn't really fuck with CG anymore either, and, if it wasn't for Anna, that bridge would be completely nonexistent. Ethan has mocked manga and anime several times and looks down on its fans even more than Josh does, so branching out into that community is a non-starter. He also effectively burned bridges with The Quartering, Nerdrotic, and Eric July for a list of retarded reasons, so all of their audiences (each of which is way bigger than every CGers' audience combined) are gone. Rekeita crashed-the-fuck-out and destroyed his life and YouTube career, so his audience is gone. And the Dick Masterson community doesn't actually like or read comics and only supported Vito's book (which he's a year late on fulfilling btw) because he's Dax's cohost, so that audience is pretty fucking worthless for the amount of baggage it came with.

Combine all this with the habitual alienating of new audiences by lashing out at other creators and the pruning of their own preexisting ones, and you're left wondering just who do these guys actually have left to shill their books to?

Critical Drinker (who as far as I know, doesn't moderate his community posts) : 1 - 6k with the occasional 10+k

It's dumb for multiple reasons. Jeremy gets called a hillbilly, trailer trash, hick, idiot all the time on stream, by the very people who work with him and the people he streams with. He laughs about it and has no pretensions about being anything else. Gary laughs about being kicked out of three schools and about his own druggie past. Insults mean nothing if the people you're insulting embrace the meme.

But, yeah, the most ridiculous part about it is the hypocrisy of Zack thinking he's in any position to call anybody else dumb and low class.

You know what they say, though, the thing about truly dumb and ignorant people is that they're too dumb and ignorant to know how dumb and ignorant they are.

ONE was a mini review of Absolute Wonder-Woman, because I guess he just doesn't have the time in the day to turn on his camera, film his crotch and shove his chin directly into his throat to croak out a review about something he claims he's passionate about. No no, he has to stalk the G+G stream and complain about how much they hate something.
