I think Malin goes on, but only very occasionally to plug his latest project. And Cecil hasn't shown up in a long time, I think they had some sort of falling out but I'm honestly not well versed in the drama.

People aren't really reporting on what's going on in Ethan's streams because they are constant and just utterly dull at this point. The highlight is the puppet shows he does of his enemy of the week - JDA, Nerdrotic, Rippa, whoever.

So EVS has managed to drama farm, do nothing whatsoever to fulfill his promise of helping propagate non-woke comics, not even do his own comics, sit around and get fatter and drunker by the day for years and now the money is running out, his wife is dying and losing her mind and his kid is autistic. The walls have to be closing on on EVS. I imagine he burnt through every penny of cyberfrog on concerts, gambling and drinking. He hasn't even fulfilled those.

He will keep doing kickstarters until even his loyal fans stop paypigging him for no product. He will likely become an exclusive drama superchat farmer within a year or so and the veil of comic creator will fall. I truly look forward to the fat bastard turning on his trump grift to embrace dick and vito by mid 2025. He will make up some mental gymnastics for why he hates trump and he will go full wokey...probably try to angle a way back to geoff johns or dc but I bet the slovenly pig can't even do a book a quarter at this point.

He had it all, despite his mediocre art (I don't think he is that good at all) he had the positioning to pull off everything eric july has times ten, he could have pulled industry people in and cultivated actual talent and not loser sycophants like vonster. I think when I assess the situation that is Scivergate my logical brain tries to make sense of what happened and tells me making as legit a company as possible would have been the way to go. But Ethan always fought having centralized distribution and other professional business moves (only renting storage much later and employing family to very slowly ship junk). At the peak of it all if the top comicsgate guys including Doug and everyone made a company dedicated to some ideals it could have been a Fox news piece like Rippaverse was. Honestly a better job could be done even than Eric but the bar is so low in the crowdfunder space that what he did seems godly (it's not). Comicsgate was too full of rip off artists, lazy egotists and literal scum criminals to ever make more than a passing comment in a mainstream article, like here Alan Moore recently mentioned Comicsgate in the Guardian. Congrats you made it guys. That's all you get for press this year, one boomer hippie talking about 5 years ago like it's recent history.

It's good you recognize this. He's one of the guys who turned on Eric on a dime, the day that EVS did. If you go back to tweets up to that point, past the initial release of ISOM #2 he was aggressively defending Eric July. But the day EVS turned he went along with fatso. A few others did this but he was a very obvious one.

Here's a good example of British humor, Alan Moore has been screwed over by Warner Brothers (or so he claims), but he still capes for gigantic US corporations as long as they act woke. That's funny to me. Since when has Alan Moore had anything useful to say about games or gamers? It isn't something he knows anything about. As to comics, ComicsGate isn't as much a fan movement so much as it is a creative movement of people who actually make comics. Yes, some of them do a very poor job at it, but you can't blame the fans for that. The fans have mostly simply walked away from comics. This is the great victory of woke in comics, making bad comics that no one wants to read and handing the normal comic book audience over to manga.

Well. Honestly in retrospect with what we fully know now, that was NEVER his intention. His intention in 2017 and 2018 was to sign a secret deal with Dynamite comics where they would be his publisher and his distributor. And that is what he did. There used to be a video of him visiting Dynamite comics right before he quit DC.

What Ethan wanted to do was publish his own intellectual property on his own terms rather than work for DC or Marvel. He could never be an Eric July because the other truth about Ethan Van Sciver is that he was a #NeverTrump guy. He would talk at length to his best buddy Gail Simone at the time about how much he hated Trump. Ethan isn't a conservative political guy. That is part of why he aggressively drove every real conservative out of comicsgate over time. Ethan was a guy with a campy atheistic who wore wigs and signed his messages with a rainbow flag.

Ethan was willing to use the idea of a movement for his own purposes and to increase his influence over others. But I dont think he ever believed in a movement or wanted to create one. He is just a fat guy who wanted to take an eternal paid vacation from normal life.
