He forgives HIM? for WHAT? If anything he should be apologizing to Eric July for everything he did to HIM. The only reason Ethan said this is because he knows more people are against him at this point. He's not sorry, just scared.

@FROG says or does these past few months. He knows he fucked up and, as a result, is hemorrhaging viewers and backers, makes feeble attempts to mend fences... and then just doubles down on his shitty behavior. Classic symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
This describes EVS very well (emphasis added):
