Richard has a habit of deleting his commentary if he regrets it or doesn't provoke the outcry he desires from his crowd. Ironically, he follows more what they think while trying to give the orders himself. In his mind, he's the leader—but that's not how it's working. They control his success at this point because it's not his award-winning commentary or highly regarded storytelling.

He pitched another pseudo-ironic comic character to "own the chuds" while the idea and concept are retarded. I honestly believe that if he let someone else do the actual work on it, and promote it, he'd probably actually profit on it, and might even reach Eric July numbers. He was late on books even with a deadline by Geoff John's. He was only allowed to continue said behavior because he was either not important enough to care or he was protected enough until he started telling fans to kill themselves.

I'm glad July didn't hire him full time because evs would've killed all the ground rippaverse made.

But with Zack there's no apparent end game... I can't even see how it could be jealousy because before he turned against The Drinker and Co.

Theres a few reasons for Zack’s and the sperging of other CGs.

1. Gator’s First Law: Anyone who participates in a culture war is a sperg even if he makes or has made good points.
2. Zack has bad taste. It’s something he’s always been heckled about.
3. Gator’s Second Law: The longer one is participating in a culture war, the more autistic he is. Comicsgate has hit the point that GamerGate hit when Comicsgate took off. Ie everyone that is left has terminal autism.
4. Gator’s Third Law: Drama gets more clicks than other types of videos, hence why culture war movements will inevitably turn on themselves. In the short term it’s easier for engagement. For example EVS makes videos on portfolio reviews and tips on drawing. Unfortunately the drama videos get more interaction so his channel pivoted towards that. A lot of the drama is gay wrestling BS. Eventually they’ll run out of people on the other side to spar with so they’ll turn on each other.
5. Creative types are spergs inevitably they were going to sperg out. It’s just a matter of time and optics.
6. Comics aren’t as gay now as they were a decade ago. Yes there are still retarded gay comics but the scale of it has dialed down. Their sales took enough of a hit and the economy is bad enough that they’ve had to dial down the retardation. It hasn’t gone away as Zack said in one of his videos but it’s not as bad as it was, so it’s taken a lot of the steam out of the sails of CG. This isn’t true yet of film and specifically video games because they take longer to produce so we’ll still have several years of BS to deal with in those regards. Part of Zach’s appeal is that he’d dump on the very woke comics and he has less material to work with and it’s been almost a decade so even if they were just as bad as they used to be, it’s an old bit. In contrast, anyone dunking on woke video games, movies, and shows will still have a few more years of consistent content. The culture is shifting back to the right but video games and movies always lag a little behind because they have longer lead times. IMO we’re going to see a weird thing in that some manga and anime will be more woke than western comics because they also tend to lag behind in the trends and also due to localizers being extremely woke. Eventually they’ll discover why going woke isn’t worth it either. Anime and manga wasn’t woke a decade ago not because Japan is immune to it but because they’re chasing trends from the west and will lag a few years behind.
7. Zack specifically has always been a little bit of a contrarian compared to other CGs. He likes taking positions that are odd and get him flak.
8. The CG guys need to deliver product on time or they’ll lose future sales. Sticking it to the woke isn’t enough anymore.

Personally, of all the critics I like critical drinker the most and mauler the least (his tism is too powerful). I don’t think Zack’s criticism about CD talking/coordinating with others about reviews is a big deal. Even if he doesn’t fully believe what he’s saying, he’s ensuring that he creates a product his fans like. People watch CD and other similar creators because they want catharsis on something they dislike. Which is why many watched Zack at his peak. IMO there’s nothing wrong with crafting a product that your subscribers want, in fact that was the entire point of CG.

Sadly, give it time and many of the film and show reviewers will end up like many of the GG and CG figures. Some will adapt but others will not. IMO CD will be fine but some of the others are going to struggle to adapt.

Spoiler: My thoughts on the film and show critics

Personally, I think we’re already seeing some cracks in the walls for some of the reviewers that rely on ‘everything is woke and you have to point it out’ crowd. Basically they got too complacent because of the amount of garbage that’s been put out. Rings of Power was an easy slam dunk. Everyone knew it’d be bad and woke. The only people who liked it were the boot lickers and the type of self hating nerds who voted for Harris. So they assumed everything would be just as bad.

Some of the reviewers definitely got lazy though and stopped thinking because they didn’t need to think before. So many shows and movies were shit due to diversity that they didn’t have to provide any meaningful critique besides SJWs are dumb. Dunking on SJWs is the conservative equivalent of dunking on flat earthers. It’s an easy way to get ass pats.

This laziness was apparent with Fallout. Many of the people I used to follow casually said it’d be rings of power 2.0 but what specifically made me realize how stupid they were was when many of them cried “why are there mutants in the vaults?1!” Without considering that the vaults have unethical experiments. It doesn’t take a genius with encyclopedic knowledge of the canon to figure that out.. yet many of the “lore experts” were too dense to put two and two together. Or perhaps they’re too susceptible to group think. Yeah, and I can understand why some people don’t like the show like if your favorite faction is the NCR (Ave True to Caesar) or they want post-post apocalypse. However, a lot of the critiques were brain dead and some of the loudest critics openly admitted they didn’t even watch the show and consistently got things wrong. Which made them look stupid to anyone not on their side, on the fence, or just casual viewers. It was apparent that a lot of creators moved goal posts from “it’s going to be worse than rings of power” to “expect better!1! Reeeeeeee.”

This also happened to a lesser extent with the Indiana Jones game which was well liked by normies but a lot of critics were expecting to be woke trash and put their chips on the table accordingly. (This is also why Zach begrudging CD for talking out his reviews is silly).

The reason some of the culture critics rub me the wrong way is because I get more annoyed by people adjacent to me politically being morons or coming across as unlikable spergs than people on the opposite side being retarded.
